Ah, I forgot. These guys are just mindless, emotionless robots that have a job to do. They have no emotional connection to their teams, coaches, owners, cities, etc. Thanks for clearing that up for me, “dude”.

There’s a reason you put “this is a business” in quotations, because that is all it is: a quote. Anyone who has spent any period of time working for someone knows that “this is a business” doesn’t fly when you’ve poured your heart and soul into something. These dudes are human beings that are asked to risk life and limb to entertain the masses and get paid handsomely to do so. Make no mistake though, this isn’t something that they just sweep under the run and say “so what” about.

Not only Matt Ryan, but imagine what’s going through the heads of our guys: Chinn, Burns, Brown, Horn, CMC Something nobody is talking about in all of this is the collateral damage that will be created internally if Watson doesn’t come here. We have essentially told the heart and soul of this team that they can kick rocks if a good qb comes available. This season and Rhules tenure are absolutely in the tank if we don’t land Watson. I’d even go as far as saying Tepper will have demolished any good will any of our current players have towards his as well. If we don’t get Watson, I honestly think this team wins three games next year and not because of a lack of talent or poor qb play. Both of those will play a part, but the guys who are left are not going to fight for guys that were willing to send them to Houston a few months earlier.

Honest Question: Why would Watson choose Carolina?
bigdog10 replied to Billy Love's topic in Carolina Panthers
-played college ball at clemson -from Atlanta -local media is some of the softest in the country and won’t continually press him on the issues he’s facing -great weather 10 months out of the year -a wealthy owner who has showed no indications of being cheap when he wants something -a division that is his to own once Brady retires fully (though this applies to the Saints as well) -
If Houston is smart, we are their top choice. We are essentially giving up two top ten picks over the next year, a third first rounder that would likely be in the teens if we are lucky and a proven pass rusher and safety. The Saints would be giving up the 18th and then two picks in the mid to late twenties because they are at minimum a playoff team with Watson.

Maybe he can learn something from some of the high school and junior college coaches he comes into contact with.

Not gonna lie, that’s the most energy that place has seen since Tepper bought the team.

If we draft a QB, I want Carson Strong
bigdog10 replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I want Ridder. He has question marks for sure but I like his mobility and the fact that he’s been in a leadership role on a winning team for some sustained period of time. My ideal scenario is trading into the teens and picking up a second. Drafting Linderbaum or hopefully one of the tackles falls, and then Ridder in the 2nd. -
The average NFL fan (hell even our owner seems tone deaf) doesn’t know anything about Keep Pounding and Sam Mills. thankfully, his story is going to be told this August and his legacy enshrined forever.

I’d take Fox. I think his failures were in large part due to lack of adequate qb play. Fox with Cam produces more wins than Fox with Rivera in my opinion.

Offseason finally here. Let's get down to business.
bigdog10 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I honestly don’t care at all what moves we make this off-season. Just don’t trade away future draft capital. Please don’t hamstring our next staff. -
Nice to open a thread and see some good news. Been rightfully dark around here for too long.

Albright: Panthers circling on Pickett
bigdog10 replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m fine taking a shot on Pickett as long as we have spent wads of cash in free agency upgrading the LT spot and the center or guard spot. putting a rookie behind this line is a ridiculous thought -

I don’t necessarily think you were wrong about Mac at 3. I’ve read im a couple different spots that Shannahan was dead set on Mac but felt overwhelming pressure from his fan base and front office to take the freakish athleticism that Lance provides. I don’t think it’s out of the question to say that Mac Jones on that niners team has them in the super bowl. -
Please for the love of all things don’t let Rhule mortgage our future by trading next years picks. I honestly don’t care if he takes Pickett at six, but do not let him trade away assets that will potentially be top five in every round. could you guys fathom we are sitting here a year from now, Rhule is gone, and we traded what would be the first or second overall pick for a glorified backup qb or to move back into the first to get Pickett after having took a tackle.

If get off my lawn we’re a photo.

Not saying this is good for the franchise but this is what I’m doing if I’m Rhule Restructuring current contracts to free up as much money as possible for this year. Throwing wads of Cash at Ryan Jensen and Terron Armstead. Moving BC to guard and going into 2022 with Armstead, Christensen, Jensen, Elflein and Moton as my line. Begging Cam to come back on a two year deal. Attempting to trade Darnold for a day three pick and praying that I don’t have to eat all of that fifth year Trading back into the teens, picking up a second and taking either Willis or Pickett. Tying myself to one of those qbs may help get me another year if the team finishes with 7 to 9 wins but misses the playoffs. Taking the best de prospect in round two.

Worst Kept Secret at the Senior bowl (Panthers Interest in Pickett)
bigdog10 replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
This had better be us trying to get Pittsburgh to come up from 20 to get pick 6 and give us next years first. At 20, we could take Penning or perhaps Linderbaum falls and will then have ammunition for the qb next year with two firsts. -
People are gonna attack Richardson for this, and he isn’t completely without fault as he has a history of being insensitive to race, but let’s not forget that he originally wanted Dungy (who turned him down for the Colts) and also signed off on drafting Cam first overall when people in the media were screaming that Gabbert was the better choice.
-
Get him outta here before he trades away a future first for some journeyman QB. He’s got this team in a nose dive and the ground is quickly approaching
-
Nfl is a completely changed league. the Bucs, now Rams have showed a new formula. When you get the goods, completely sell the farm and future to go get the chance at the ring.
-
Also, shannahan is McVays dad. Just owns him.

This niners team is loaded. Good offensive line, great weapons, a top three offensive playcaller; yet they still struggle to score. They are held back by the man under center. Scares the hell outta me that we could be a suitor for him.
