Weekly meetings with the owner are not, in fact, a thing in the NFL. With some it's daily!

Business owners all over the world meet weekly with their department heads. That's a you problem.

Can blame them?

He’s not even trying to hide the fact he is. Nonsense. https://www.panthers.com/video/david-tepper-speaks-to-the-media-about-coaching-change

Panthers abandoning Wofford for training camp, will be in Charlotte
RayRedd replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Word on the street is this change was made at the behest of the players, FYI. -
David Tepper is not involved in football operations.

What she got down under must be damn good. How would you describe it?

Sounds a lot like the Giants... ...DeVito is making a go of it.

Went and watched based on your post -- bizarre.

20 of the 32 franchises that comprise the NFL have misses the playoffs for 10 consecutive years -- or longer...the Cardinals, Buccaneers and Jets have done it twice, and the Lions have done it (3) times! In fact, the Chiefs - Bengals - Cardinals (twice!) - Giants - Eagles - Bills Browns - and Saints...all have stretches of missing the playoffs for 14 consecutive years, or longer!! Point being, while it is frustrating for fans of a particular team in the midst of dry-spell like the Panthers are suffering through -- in a historical context it is not at all unusual, and the vast majority of teams/fans have suffered through MUCH worse.

PSL owner = fan. -
Jeff Saturday (also a television personality at the time), who accomplished a lot more than Greg in The League and was a Super Bowl Champion, was widely pilloried for having been offered a job as Head Ball Coach when other supposedly more "qualified" candidates were available. Does Greg really want to subject himself to that kind of scrutiny? Why would he since failure is the only option because Tepper sucks so badly?

Whadya figure a London based player would have to be paid in order to have an equal amount of take-home pay and standard of living vs. a Miami based player? NFL players do not want to live in London, nor do owners want to have to operate in a market/society so far removed/different from what all the other teams are faced with. Yeah no travel issues, but getting your player back after he's been kidnapped will be quite troublesome (and expensive). The costs for NFL security to attempt keeping the Bentley drivin', bling wearin' players safe, would be prohibitive -- and that assumes the players cooperate in terms of having their every movement monitored 24/7!! I put the "chance" at 0.001%. That said, if lightning does strike that franchise will have to be folded or moved within 5 years, players just won't go along.

PSL owners control over 60,000 of the stadium seats, every week. Don't blame the "team" -- blame the "fan". -

I'm always eager to learn from others -- please explain the process for turning your PSL's in "a year early"... ...do you get a refund or something like that? If you don't "turn them in" what happens? -
44-19-1 in regular season and 5-3 in playoffs as a Head Ball Coach in the NFL. Res ipsa loquitur...

Like all major league sports venues the food & beer are wildly over-priced, but there's no difference in quality. Dude, beer is beer and do you really care about the food? That why you're going to the game, for a nice meal? "Share of profits"? "In the red"? "Marketing department"? LOL... In case you wondered the Fanatics site has 3,996 licensed Panthers items on the website right now. -

…wow…not sure who you are but a bit on the smug side in response aren't you ? I didn’t predict anything you might be surprised how disengaged PSL holders are from David Tepper, how much they dislike him (and further, his grand plans for the future stadium renovations (ie, gauging the interest of PSL holders like myself for very expensive options via a survey I received today) . Just in case you are a buddy of the Panthers org, you can tell him he best fix that product on the field if he expects anyone to cough up that kind of money for a team that can’t score a TD and the worst record of any sports franchise over 5 years so trust me, there is a lot of extreme unhappiness right now, more than enough to make people walk away and we are ‘loyal’ when the ticket values hold their face value. Now, we can’t even give them away. i have the ticket office calling me all the time about buying PSLs in my row from others who have gotten out. I’m not calling them. Those were not advertised So, if you are under the Illusion this is some hot commodity with blind loyalty, it isn’t On PSL availability, my point is simply it is very difficult to tell how many PSLs are available at any point in time given the variables (term limit, method of sale, or transfer, or turn in or the motives. All you know is xx number are designated for PSLs and they will show in varying states. I’ve owned mine for 24 years. I will be turning them in a year early. I don’t need the situation made worse with gas, food, lodging and worst of all, wasting of my time. Could have sworn you said "many things will change". The only "change" that matters is do PSL holders stop paying for their tickets and let the PSL lapse for no compensation at all. The vast majority of PSL owners (like you) never do so. Doesn't matter how much "fans" (you for example) dislike Tepper if they (you) keep purchasing the tickets year after year after year in order to maintain the PSL, which they (you) do. Tepper doesn't need me or anyone else to tell him about the importance of scoring touchdowns, in case you didn't notice he just fired the Head Ball Coach for that exact reason. Lots of whining ("extreme unhappiness") out there currently but it really doesn't matter until PSL holders (you) start walking away from their contract, very few ever do so. "Face value" is irrelevant. Only a dolt would think PSL's are a "hot commodity" . On the open market they trade for a fraction of the stated price they're offered at directly from the Panthers. All that said, there are still over 60,000 seats in the stadium that are tied to a PSL -- that's a big deal and a very important/predictable revenue stream for the team. What do you mean "turning them in a year early"? There's no expiration date on your PSL... -

LOL...disagree. OP is the exception, not the rule. "Stale beer and gas station food"...really? Don't let your personal animus stand in the way of logical analysis of the business environment/opportunities for the Panthers -- the team is doing just fine and any expectations for that changing any time soon are misplaced . -

There has never been a major dislocation within the PSL ownership base. Are you predicting tens-of-thousands of PSL owners will walk away from their tickets with no compensation whatsoever in the near-term? Let us know when things change... -

RayRedd replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
You are 100% correct . The "customer" you are describing is a prototypical PSL- owner. The original poster is an exception, in fact the opposite of the rule. PSL owners are literally THE most "loyal customer" in the history of customers!! Don't mistake the whining of a few as a trend that's going broadly change the course of behavior for Panthers ticket holders/buyers. -

RayRedd replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
From a business operations perspective the delineation between "legit fans" and any other kind of "fan" is irrelevant -- cash is cash. Bottom line, 98% of the seats controlled by PSL holders remain current and paid up. -

The number of listings (or lack thereof) on the PSL marketplace in no way supports your assertion. PSL for-sale listings are down about 40% vs. this time last year, and are at the absolute lows in the last 30 months. 1,150 seats for sale in a 75,000 seat stadium in not even a blip on the radar -- just another reason Tepper will never move the team, PSL holders never bail!! -

I already included that in the $30 million. Green Bay is publicly owned, so has to share their profits. In 2022, they made $35 million. Because of revenue sharing, every team should make a very similar amount. So the Panthers should have made roughly the same or slightly less after revenue sharing. Remains chump change for Tepper...
