This pass rush is TRASH -
Last Sunday our boys brought a big bag of iron pyrite to the cash window, and were aggressively escorted off the property by grown ass men. I expect no different against GB.

By a large margin, coaching is this team’s biggest weakness. It’s not QB, which is a big deal, but not worse than coach. Canales has shown ZERO aptitude/desire to change strategy when his first punch is rendered useless. He must HATE running the ball successfully because I have no other explanation. EVERY TIME, When the Panthers are getting scorched, it’s like he wants to then highlight the air raid offense that the Panthers clearly don’t have in an effort to catch up. It’s exactly the opposite of what a normal OC would do. For 3 games in a row, no defense has an answer for Rico. The adjustment was so damn obvious. You’ve got your washed up backup QB playing behind an injured line and he’s giving the game away to a very well rested and aggressive defense. You’ve got an injured RB who isn’t getting it done. You’ve got another RB who looks unstoppable…. So you pass more and then go with the injured guy to tote the rock? It’s complete malpractice.

And I took the bait, despite what my more sensible me was screaming. I saw what he did in ATL, and really thought we had something. alas, I have come to accept that he is what he is. An undersized dude who is more durable than I gave him credit for. He comes across as an intelligent guy who has gradually gained knowledge of the Xs and Os of the position. He does come up clutch in big moments but he lacks the physical strength to play in the NFL, and has not done a damn thing in his tenure here to prove otherwise. which makes me question his DAWG, sadly.
-
Absolutely, but just think about the 52 other players who went out there to risk it all for a coach who clearly doesn’t respect them. Giving Chuba more snaps over Rico last week, he got away with since they at least won the game, but trying that ish again today was a big F you to the rest of the team. Hell of a thing being injured for rest of the season to a coach that deliberately set the team up to fail.
-
Could you imagine playing your way in to a season/career ending injury for a coach who obviously favored a player over the team?
-
Agreed 100 percent. Some coaches have that in them. Most don’t. Ours most certainly, does not.
-
His players have no respect for him, and frankly, trotting out Chuba over Dowdle shows that he has 0 respect for them as well. If it is obvious that he’s putting a player above the good of the team, then he doesn’t deserve their full effort. He’s certainly not giving his.
-
Not many coaches have that inner Belicheck, Saban and Harbaugh. Most coaches inevitably will have a sense of loyalty to players who have weathered the hard times, hence the expiration date they all, except a select few, have. DC just don’t have what it takes.

Speaking of revisiting trades: Brian Burns

Exactly. If we would had paid Burns, our run defense would still be laughable instead of being on a big upswing. -

Couldn’t play the run? Check Quit on his team? Check never made a game sealing play? Check Don’t miss him 1 iota. -
Another defensive heavy draft on par with what they just pulled off should have them very competitive.

I have very little faith in DC the play caller, but much like the rest of the offense, he is afforded a bit of a mulligan. Opposing defenses have no respect for BY’s game, and why should they? There is a big chunk of DC’s playbook that is completely useless. I firmly believe the moment this franchise gets a dude that can make throws defenses are forced to respect, everything will change… and it’s not about just chucking bombs. It’s about getting passes where they need to go with good velocity having to throw off balance. We’ve seen it unfold every week and it’s the same thing. Same formula. Pressure up the middle, make him roll out to the left and dare him to throw. This is where he’ll eat a jersey tug sack, dirt a ball, throw it out, or take a 3 yard dump off. Very rarely does anything productive occur. Bryce does not have the arm strength to deliver an NFL level throw unless he has a clean pocket and perfect mechanics. A QB who at least challenges defenses with velocity, I believe, will change circumstances for the better. Now am I saying White will be an upgrade from our current situation? Doubtful. Very doubtful, but the longer the BY marriage is allowed to continue, the more likely it is to stick around.
