  1. He really has a very complete game. Arm strength, accuracy, pocket awareness, sneaky elusive, leadership….But the biggest thing: bro is cerebral. He reads the defense very quickly, quickly goes through his progressions, delivers a great ball with great mechanics and just does not make a bad decision. Maybe a handful of times where he got away with something over the last 3 starts but nothing egregious. I can’t think of a glaring weakness or somewhere he really needs to up his game. He is far from being a JAG. He’s a very complete QB and under appreciated. He’s not Mahomes, Brady or Brees, but Andy will win you football games. With Thielen, this team puts 14 more points on the board today. He’s got that old man strong.
  2. The respect defenses have for Thielen is criminally under appreciated. Teams know he WILL get open at critical moments and he WILL CATCH THE BALL. Missing him is why we were in 3rd and long so much. They respect Johnson but know X is a rookie. We have not shown a TE threat. Adam and Andy are in lock with each other. I threw a ton of shade at Canales and I will 100% admit how wrong I was. I really like the guy but God was BY poison.
  3. Peoples’ expectations… Smitty was a body catcher as well, just saying. Smitty had Prohel, X has Thielen. X seems very teachable. His routes today were pretty crisp. This was a BIG moment today for big country. Sometimes we can get in to our own head. It would be pretty cool for everyone to scream X!!! When dude makes a big play. Get his confidence going. Jury is out on Mingo. Last year was a complete disaster. I’m willing to see what he’s got this season. He seems to like trucking dudes.
  4. XL is raw and we all knew it. He’s not ready to be the #2 guy yet and I think the moment was too big for him. He’s still a rook and you can tell he’s thinking too much. Body catches can be coached. He’s got Thielen and Andy mentoring him. He couldn’t ask for more.
  5. Retain him. He hasn’t had a legit chance to prove himself. I will say they shown 0 quit and they swarm tackle. They are cohesive, but lacking true DUDES. Defense is easier to build than offense. Everyone knew what the D would be. Offense has been a very pleasant surprise thus far. Do some cap sorcery, sign Andy for 3 (yes, 3) more years, trade Johnson for a second (easily worth that now) later in the season. Maybe even get some blue chip young defensive starter in the trade. Go defense in the draft. Front 7. I’d actually like to go back to 4:3.
  6. This team has scored 87 points in Dalton’s last 3 starts. In those 3 starts the only pick he’s had was the deflection today. 7 TD throws, 1 int. Only 1 game was a home. We have to retain Dalton. He is essential for developing our young talent. I would give up a 5th rounder just for someone to take Bryce off our hands. Regardless of the PR spin, you KNOW it’s awkward AF for him in that locker room.
  7. I knew we would see more third and longs today with the absence of Adam. Regardless of what some say, he draws a ton of respect from defenses and is Andy’s favorite target. He and Johnson are still meshing. This will be a week getting back to fundamentals. Tackling and drops cost them the game…. But look, It’s Joe throwing to Chase and Higgins with their shot at the playoffs hanging in the balance. Sound familiar? It’s like we’ve seen this scenario before. This Panthers team in 2 weeks: 60 points. 48 first downs (let that sink in) 7 touchdowns. Chuba has 218 rush yards, averaging over 5 yards a carry. Both games convincingly winning the TOP. Best WR since… Smitty?!! (DJ Moore people coming at me with torches and pitchforks here… sorry Y’all, Johnson has a higher top gear). In 3 starts, I haven’t yet had a “Damnit, Andy” moment. I couldn’t tell you more than 6 starters on the defense. Most are JAG- level, BUT, they play their asses off. I know there are no moral victories and all of that, but to be down as far as we were at one point and still battling. Gang tackling. That’s character, and it starts at the top. We’ve seen this team mail it in with smaller deficits than that. They believe in their QB and coaching. This week will be fundamentals and developing X to be more comfortable as the #2 until Thielen returns. This is a good thing as it kind of felt like the moment was a bit big for him. I think the pressure of it all directly led to his drops. You couldn’t ask for better mentoring than Thielen and Andy. At the end of the season, kid is going to be a straight up stud. Let him get some confidence and more fluidity to his play… DK level problem. Just watch. I don’t know how to judge Evero yet. He doesn’t have much to work with. A pass rush completely changes the complexion of this game. Joe had an obscene amount of time. It, in addition to poor tackling was the difference here. I think if you give him an at least average pass rush… it’s just not fair to judge a coach when maybe 5 of our current starters would even make the 53 man roster on other squads.
  8. X is raw and you can tell he’s still learning, so he’s thinking too hard instead of just playing his game. Drops can really mess with a rookie’s confidence. Andy is exactly the guy he needs for his development. Dude comes alive with the ball in his hand. It will be critical to have a good QB throwing to him. It is just more fun now.
  9. I’m not a blame the refs guy, but that drive let me know just what’s up. At least 3 missed holding calls on the center and illegal blocking downfield no call. Dalton may as well air it out from here. Shootout. Maybe we get a pick 6 or something
  10. To beat the current NFL defensive schemes, cannon arm is essential. It’s the equalizer. Defenses are too fast and film study is too good. You’ve got to be able to hit a guy as soon as he flashes open. Additionally, Fastballs are also harder to hold on to on an INT. All QBs have the ‘lucky that wasn’t picked’ errant throw. A cannon arm could easily account for 4+ fewer picks over a season. Look no further than our current situation. it only takes 1 pick to completely change a game. Can’t teach arm and size. Everything else is moldable.
  11. I watch UGA ball. Just as I suspected, the loss of Bowers and Mcconkey have exposed him. His arm strength is ok. accurate and teachable dude with a cannon for an arm, please.
  12. One hundred forty one million dollars. Ho Lee poo. Guess their GM really wanted out of NY. Anyone expecting Burns to all of a sudden catch a gear and be the second coming of Lawrence Taylor is hitting the pipe way too hard. Nobody knows what someone has going on in their lives or in their own head. Easy to judge and dish dirt, I know I’m guilty. Many elite talent have succumb. Jenkins. Benjamin. NY sports media… Sorry Brian.
  13. How nobody saw this coming I’ll never know. Burns showed last year that he doesn’t truly care about winning. He is not a winner and he is not a dawg. Winning is everything to a dawg. He dogged it and quit on his team in a contract year. Color me shocked that a quitter with a fat bank account has checked out.
  14. The all blue when 59 made Dallas his little B on Thanksgiving will forever be a great memory of mine. All black is still the best.
  15. It’s amazing how a company that has made tens of thousands of dollars off of you will nut up the moment you have to beg and demand for some of it back. I’m a pretty right leaning, free enterprise guy but having to deal with the SOB insurance companies in the health care industry…. and what I see happen to people that are barely making it, or not making it at all… the entire insurance racket is just criminal. It’s different when business you’re legally required give money to has unanimous political muscle.
  16. Solar on a roof is an awesome concept but in practice, a big nope. It’ll only begin recouping install cost if it never breaks… and the company hasn’t gone out of business… and if everything else goes ok for the life of the system, and you still live there 10 years later or you’ve found a buyer willing to buy the place. Oh, and hope you don’t need a new roof because good luck finding a roofing company willing to take on the liability. It’s such a freaking cool idea that is fraught with peril. And yes, screw the insurance racket. High rate of auto theft in Atl? You live over an hour away? Doesn’t matter. GA is now dubbed a high vehicle theft state, because of what’s going on over an hour away. I have an older Corolla and an old GX with 188,000 miles. Perfect driving records for >15 years and I’m 46. I get eaten alive. Big storm? Hail? Nope, looks like previous damage. Out of pocket car money. Roofer even called bs. Covid caused material shortages, skyrocketing costs. Rebuild cost goes up, house increases drastically in value, insurance rates rise. Ok, I didn’t like it but I could follow it. Well, material costs are better now. Have rates gone down? lol. Sure. Oh, speaking of your property value going up, meet my friend Mr property tax man. Sorry for the thread derail
  17. I’m in Rome. Just rain. Buddy from school is in Bradenton, he’s good. His parents in Tampa not so much. He said he’s never seen a storm surge like this, even 1993. Saw one of my guys today who is an insurance adjuster and said most of the flooding won’t be covered in ATL. Something to do with being considered ground water.
  18. Might be tropical storm force winds all the way up in to NW Georgia. I just want to keep my power. Good luck to all of Y’all especially if you’re close to this thing.
  19. Not going to lie, PTSD had my buttcheeks clinched with every big throw from Andy, but they were all… perfect. Perfect spiral, speed, placement. The most catchable throws I’ve ever seen in a panthers game. 0 hospital balls thrown. It was some alternate reality I’ve never experienced. Even when Jake or Cam had a game where they were dialed in, it felt like a damnit Jake/Cam throw was going to come at any moment.
  20. The DIME td throw to Thielen may have been the best pass I’ve ever seen from a panthers QB. #2 is Cam to 88 in Seattle to win the game. But the throws Andy made on the regular were incredible.
  21. Week 10 trade to a team that’s right there in contention, but needs a WR for a SB run. A desperate enough team would dish a late second round pick if Johnson is 700 yards and 8 TDs at that point.
  22. Everything is fluid in the NFL. Don’t get me wrong I want and still think we win this Sunday, but in football especially, big emotional wins are often followed by a loss. What if this is the week Cinci decides to wake up? A key turnover puts us down 2+ scores, we start pushing, they start sending the house, focusing on who missed blocking assignments from last week and what they were vulnerable to. Your catches everything every time guy is sorely missed on those days as your quick 3rd down outlet
  23. Loss of Adam is going to really sting. Say what you will about his age, but he draws a ton of respect from defenses. You’ve got to respect the home run hitter WR who always finds a way to get open and catches EVERYTHING. Not that they don’t now, but when the rest of the WRs can show the same ability to catch every single ball thrown their way, coverage will be pretty tight. Expect more pass rush this Sunday that Vegas was not able to pull off. I don’t want to jinx it, but it could be a 5 sack 1-2 pick type day.
