We won, but Bryce and Canalas still blow
Gapanthersfan replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
They had a plan in place to beat a team that on paper is far superior and it worked. Bryce made some bad throws but he also had a lot of good ones too. He did what was needed to win. Credit where credit is due. Top to bottom a team win. Special teams was the best I’ve seen since I don’t know when. We have a dude who can bust 57 yd field goals. Dude boomed punts in to the stratosphere. -
Shout out to Chuba. Another weak of punishing and demoralizing runs that put this team in 2nd/3rd and short more often than not.

1. I’ll be the first in this thread: In Dan I trust. 1 offseason and the defense looks like it may have real NFL talent. They’ll still get torched at times this year, but this team just kept 2 of the best RBs in the league largely in check. Drake was a non-factor. Penix heard footsteps all game and that absolutely factored in to his horrible throws. 2. 74 points. In the last 2 games, 74 points against the clowns and won 2 in a row.

Official Week 3: Panthers vs. Falcons Gameday Thread
Gapanthersfan replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
This team has now won 2 in a row against the Falcons, with 74 total points scored. Very few things feel as good as beating the piss out of the falcons. Another year, same falcons. Paper tigers. Don’t know what to do when they get hit in the face. Penix played like he was hearing footsteps all game. -
Those pulled hammies can take a REALLY long time to heal. Rest up XL. Ice up. Told y’all, addition by subtraction.

The game wasn’t supposed to go this way. It’s like draft night with Sanders. -

Very well done defense. 6 quarters of handling 2 of the most difficult RBs in the league. -

XL out with a hammy??! hmmmm. -
He’s set financially for life barring complete fiscal lunacy. He has $12.3 million guaranteed. Think about that. Twelve million three hundred thousand dollars, he’ll be 28 years old when his contract is up and he’s completely forgotten about if he never plays another down in the NFL if he so chooses. Say after taxes he ‘only’ brings home $6M (fire your accountant territory) and parks $4M in a run of the mill mutual fund… good God… What I’m getting at, IF homie ain’t feeling the NFL, he has 12,300,000 reasons to take the fewest NFL edition ass kickings as possible while waiting out his very wealthy non-football future. Obviously completely talking out of my a$$ with this… but if you hated contact, didn’t want to live with a completely wrecked body for the rest of your life and you know you’re set financially… what path would you take, assuming you’re cool with being a quitter (not calling him a quitter, I’m just playing out a scenario)? Why do so many first rounders bust? Where was he before his one year wonder if he was such a stud? Everybody likes the dude on a personal level. How could you not? …. but I like seeing a winning product even more. He doesn’t play like his head is in the game. The Why is where the speculation lies and helps to clarify if his issues are ‘fixable’ or not.

Is it bad when our UDFA can’t get healthy fast enough so the first rounder can ride the pine?

Next QB needs to be 6’3” 240 and put a football through a cinderblock wall. this retread QB aggression will not stand, man.

Stepping on to a team with Wirfs, Evans and a perpetually good defense in the weakest division in the NFL. Dream landing spot. I always liked Baker. I appreciated his heart and moxie… 2 essential franchise QB qualities.

IMHO, the 2025 draft class was a step in the right direction. No cute picks. Tet is looking like the best first round pick this franchise has had since Cam. There is a very likely possibility that Scourton and Princely evolve in to solid players. When was the last time this franchise got the first 3(!!) picks right? I know this is a snap judgement with a way too small sample size but I don’t think I’m wrong. A draft that nets 3 gamers is an enormous success. Whiffing on Bryce, XL and Brooks was DEVASTATING. The hallmark of this team has always been early round projects, injury history and/or tweeners. They think they’re going to outsmart the 31 other teams that passed on the dude and it has NEVER once worked out. I still don’t know WTF they were thinking with Bryce over that guy who is now in Houston. It hurts to say his name. Did they not think he was smart enough? I can see how his ‘alpha-ness’ would have been intimidating. This year is at least appears different (thus far) in that they did not whiff with Tet. 2 games in and there is 100% huddle consensus that he is an absolute stud with game changing ability. Dude is unguardable. Front runner for OROY. He was the obvious choice… but when was the last time this franchise chose obvious? Next draft has to be line heavy and no trading valuable capital on a reach pick. If a Luke type LB or top center/LT is there in the first ok, but edge and DT have to be priority.

Oh yes indeed. A bad day of fishing is better than a BY led panthers game.
