All hypothetical but just looking at there first years as starter Howell 3950 21td 21int Young 2877 11td 10int. I know Howell may have had a worse Oline than Young had this year, and recievers are close with skill Wash maybe a little better. If I was in charge I would take the chance and switch even if we could but doubt Wash would go for it. As others has posted Howell has nfl arm strength and size you can maybe teach the rest....Young doesnt and you cant teach what he is missing.

Big year for young. He either improves greatly or is benched and becomes one of the greatest busts of all times. Hopefully he improves but history and physical limitations are not on his side.

People act like wilks would have done well here as hc he failed in arizona with better qb and more talent here it would have been even worse. He just got let go in san fran not bc he was awesome at his job.

BY is paid milions as the first overall pick. He didnt come to a perfect situation but the panthers are not as bad as they played all last year. As the first pick it would be expected his play would elavate those around him instead seems his play if anything brought those around him down hopefully next season he shows more.

Defense looked horrible the last 3 chiefs drives . But with that said the cmc fumble and the muffed punt killed them. Not so sure the missed extra point mattered bc chiefs would have just scored a td instead of a fg before ot with the way 9ers d was playing

I agree the panthers do need some speed receivers to go with ATheilen but it was very impressive he was able to finish 11th in receptions in the entire nfl with Young as QB. Also impressive he was 5th in the entire nfl at getting open against man coverage. Hopefully entire offense takes a step this year no where but up from here.

Yes all I hear on the radio is how his defensive scheme is the weak spot on the 49ers and if they loose it will be b/c of him and they will find a different DC. He was 11th in receptions and 15th in targets of course his yards / catch were low as was his tds. But is it his fault young has horrible accuracy on deeper throws even during his alabama days. Thielen did this well with young imagine what he would do with a decent nfl qb
