  1. This is where I'm at - I don't care if Tepper made the call. Obviously I'm hoping Canales made the call without being forced to, but it's the right call for the team regardless of who made it. Even if he was forced too, I'm sure Canales didn't push back whatsoever after what he's seen these first two weeks.
  2. It's really wild to think that in 18 starts, a Bryce Young led offense averaged 12.3ppg. And if you remove the Packers game which is looking like one of the biggest anomalies of all time, it's 11.2ppg. We could barely average 4 FGs/game with Bryce as the signal caller.
  3. Dalton took over for Jameis Winston in New Orleans in 2022 (week 4) and started the last 14 games that season. He went 6-8 and put up the following stats: 252/378 (66.7%), 2,871 yards (7.6 YPA), 18 TDs, 9 INTs, 95.2 QB rating In his only start for CAR (week 3 last season vs Seattle), he was 34/58 (58.6%), 361 yards (6.2 YPA), 2 TDs, 0 INT, 88.4 QB rating At the very least, he is a competent QB that will allow the coaching staff to really evaluate the rest of this offensive infrastructure.
  4. I can buy that Canales made this decision. I'm sure he alerted Tepper before doing it, but its entirely possible he went to Tepper and said "I'm not staking my HC career on this guy. You can fire me and I'll take the 5.75 years of $ on my deal left if you want to play it that way."
  5. I wouldn't be surprised if Tepper is actually ok with this - he probably wants to see if it's truly Young that is a lost cause, or if the investment made into the offensive side of the ball this season was a waste of $ (and whether or not his handpicked QB guru coach actually knows what he's doing).
  6. In hindsight, the funniest part of yesterday was Chubba ripping off an 11-yard rush, jumping up and motioning "feed me" to the sideline, then on the very next play Bryce proceeding to throw into double coverage on a nfw ball that got picked.
  7. I think the offense would be dramatically better with a replacement level QB in there. The defense has been stripped for parts though and with the Brown injury, besides Horn (who's been solid but not shutdown) there isn't a single non-replacement level player.
  8. Others have mentioned this, but you have to put Dalton in for a game or two just to see what you have on this roster. Who are the keepers? Is it worth giving an extension to Diontae Johnson? Is Icky garbage or if there's a more savvy QB in the pocket, does he look a little better?
  9. It's pretty obvious that if Young is going to have even a modicum of success in the NFL, it's not going to be in a Panther uniform. He's done here.
  10. Bryce because you know the owner is going to jam him down our throats. At least with Clausen you knew it was temporary.
  11. Should've put Stroud 2-0 rather than Rhule 3-0, but the point still stands
  12. I don't think I will ever stop following the team. Maybe not as zealously as I did in the past, but even now I spend way too much of my time during the season on this team. I won't lie, I was cautiously optimistic going into this season, but that probably reflects more on me (I'm always optimistic going into every season), but my expectations have been severely downgraded. I don't think this team will go 0-17, but if this team can get even 3 wins it will be a miracle. I think the toughest thing is that from day 1 of Tepper's ownership, there has never seemed to have been any semblance of a plan to build this team. It's been one moon shot after another and holdovers left and right. When Tepper fired Rhule and decided he didn't want to promote Wilks to the full time job (which I was against at the time, but my god, could this franchise use him for some tone setting right about now), he should've completely cleaned house in the coaching staff and front office. He didn't, fired Reich, and again didn't clean house. Canales will get a minimum of 3 years IMO just because Tepper knows the optics of his tenure, but if (when?) Canales is fired, I hope to god it's a clean sweep in the coaching staff and front office. It sucks to be this down on a hire 2 games into the season, but it really feels like the whole operation needs to be detonated and rebuilt from the studs up.

  16. Fields 56 yards and a TD on his first drive. 67% of Bryce’s production today. Could’ve had him for a bag of chips
  17. Panthers have led for just 10 seconds in their last 9 games per the broadcast.
  18. Don’t forget we’ll be giving up the 33rd pick in the upcoming draft to complete this trade.
  19. The penalties by this team, such an undisciplined group. What do they even practice?

  21. By all accounts Harbaugh called Tepper TWICE practically asking for the job and the fuging dolt couldn’t put his goddam ego in check to turn over the football ops to a competent adult. This franchise won’t ever win more than 7 games in a season under his ownership tenure.
  22. It’s not about Bryce. He’s a lost cause. But Canales apparently doesn’t do anything else? The team is fuging sloppy, undisciplined, and the guy can’t manage his self out of a paper bag. Looks totally over his head in every aspect.
