Barnwell's trade column today proposed the following Young trade to the Dolphins: Uh, yeah I'd take that deal right now. -

I mean if the Panthers are 1-9/2-8 going into the bye week than there's really no reason not to - see if the break did Young any good and if not, can be clear eyed in knowing you gave an honest evaluation before deciding to move on. Only downside is if he's just as a bad that may torpedo any potential trade value from a team that thinks the situation was the problem rather than the player. -
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Clowney gets traded to a contender by the deadline. Maybe Detroit given the injury to Hutchinson?

Did the Offensive Line do Good Yesterday??

There were more penalties than you'd hope, but somewhat understandable given 2 new starters (although Icky can't seem to shake his false start issue). Probably the strongest collection of OL talent this franchise has had in years. -

Ian Thomas is a fuging thief -
Side note - I hated the switch to the 3-4 defense. I don't think this team has ever fielded a worthwhile 3-4. Go back to 4-3 please.

So much this. I said in the game thread yesterday, but this is a desiccated husk of a franchise with a barren roster. Even when there are things to feel somewhat excited about such as Legette looking like an NFL WR last week or the OL being amazing, it's already destroyed just a week later by injuries (I'd be shocked if Corbett isn't done for the year with a torn biceps tendon). It's just a revolving door of faces with no real core in the roster or coaching staff worth building upon.

There's just so many jags on this defense. Basically the entirety of the D except Horn (and even he's had some bad moments) are replacement level or worse. -
The list is only players that are in the last year of their contract

Swing was not getting the TD on the first drive and not tackling the RB on that end of first half drive short of the endzone. Flip those 2 plays and you may have a Panthers win.

Think this game will be a shootout - don't think it's likely we'll be able to stop Burrow, Chase, and Higgins from lighting up the secondary with the still anemic pass rush, but their run game doesn't scare me at all and their defense is just as bad as ours looked week 1 and 2. If the Panthers are to win this one, it's going to be something like a 31-28 close game. Our best bet is to be able to get an early lead and then play keep away from Burrow by bleeding clock with Hubbard and short Dalton throws moving the chains.

I mean outside of the Bills and MAYBE the Seahawks/Vikings, seems like every team is banged up or extremely flawed. I mean, who do you think the Panthers can't be competitive with before the Week 11 bye? vs Bengals - bottom 5 defense at Bears - bottom 5 OL and rushing offense vs Falcons - banged up OL and fairly anemic offensively, honestly should be 0-3 if the Eagles don't have an epic game management blunder at Commanders - great offense so far but arguably the worst defense in the league at Broncos - rookie QB with an anemic offense (notwithstanding last week's game) vs Saints - strafed us in the dome but I still think that Carr played out of his mind weeks 1 and 2 and didn't expect him to keep up that level of play Giants in Munich - only offense they have is spam Malik Nabers Now I'm not saying we're about to rip off 8 wins in a row and go into the bye week 8-2, but I think being competitive and winning 3 or 4 of those 7 games is very, very plausible. Hell, even the post bye schedule which looked hellacious coming into the season isn't looking AS daunting. Odds are we still get beat by all of the Chiefs, Eagles, and Cowboys, but they haven't exactly looked like world beaters 3 weeks into the season.

His fat ass is pissed the Panthers made him look like a fuging idiot for his take: https://x.com/_necktats/status/1838214638896345549?s=46

The first sack was on JT Sanders not knowing his assignment, not on Icky. Icky has been the weak link on an otherwise strong OL, but you're clearly wrong on this one.

Honestly I'd be down just for the nostalgia...been watching full games from the 2015 season since we haven't had anything to be proud of since the 2017 season. For others that are interested:

I'm saying this honestly, but...does he? It sure doesn't look like he did the first two games. -

Can't cut or trade him unfortunately as far as I can tell, we only have ~$3.5m in cap space right now and trading him would immediately accelerate ~$9.8m onto the cap from future charges. Cutting him would accelerate ~$22.4m onto the cap. -

See, I don't doubt that Bryce actually looks totally fine or even great in practice / shorts. There's no real pressure in those situations. No one's going all out 100%. No one's disguising coverages. Bryce doesn't have to worry about a muddied pocket in practice, he doesn't have to worry about pre-snap reads and protection calls, etc. He's just kinda standing back there tossing the ball in pristine conditions with clear sight lines. -
