  1. So if it's just a 5 year extension averaging $21m per and this year is untouched, the deal will be 6 years, ~$120m ($119.67m to be exact). If it averages $21m per over the length of the entire deal, then we're looking at 6 years, $126m, with the new money average being $22.3m (6x$21m = $126m - $14.67m = $111.3m/5 = $22.3m).
  2. Yeah, hate when people just parrot headlines. He got $21.5m fully guaranteed no matter what. Cam's fully guaranteed numbers will likely double that at the very least.
  3. Voth saying it's from Hurney as well: Black & Blue Review ‏@BlackBlueReview 3m3 minutes agoMarty Hurney of @ESPN730 is reporting #Panthers and Cam Newton are CLOSE to getting a long-term deal done. Nice scoopage.
  4. The thread title is wrong, Swearinger has not been released. He has told he won't be back, but they're still trying to trade him: PDS ‏@PatDStat · 2h2 hours ago Keep seeing Swearinger is being released, that is not accurate. PDS ‏@PatDStat · 2h2 hours ago There has been a deal in place for Swearinger since last week. Still hearing a player is coming in return. #Texans

  6. I second the suggestion of Founders All Day IPA. A great, easy drinking beer. Another option, in honor of the draft being held in Chicago, would be Goose Island 312 Wheat Ale. Nice taste and only 4.2% ABV.

  9. charles johnson ‏@randywattson 2m2 minutes ago If I was a corner I would defiantly want to play on the panthers defense. Bad choice. Dline get cats paid over here ask Mike Mitchell & Cap
  10. Cowboys sign sack master Greg Hardy. Meanwhile, in Atlanta... Chris Wesseling ‏@ChrisWesseling 8m8 minutes ago The three pass rushers signed by the Falcons (Clayborn, Schofield, Biermann) have averaged 2.96 sacks per NFL season.
  11. I think Gurley will be long gone by 25 anyway. Think he goes between 16-23. Texans (as heir apparent to Foster), Chargers (no #1 RB at the moment), Browns (less likely, but possible), Lions (already set up a visit and workout), Cardinals (Ellington is injury prone, rumors they are sniffing around AP) all could use him.
  12. He's been in Dallas for 2 days, taking a physical this morning, had dinner with coaches last night. They just cleared $12m in cap space last night by converting some of Romo's salary into a bonus. I'm hard pressed to believe the Boys will let him leave without a deal.
  13. Deciding between Dallas and TB today per Ian Rapoport
  14. ProFootballTalk ‏@ProFootballTalk 6m6 minutes ago Greg Hardy also plans to visit the Seahawks, per league source. Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora 37s37 seconds ago Dallas, Seattle and Tampa continue to be the 3 teams I hear most interested in Greg Hardy. Visits to DAL and SEA already set, TB possible
  15. Update: Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 4m4 minutes ago Free agent pass-rusher Greg Hardy is visiting the #Cowboys today, source said (as @nickeatman 1st noted). No agreement, but a big visit
  16. Unless Crabtree is willing to accept a 1-year, $2-3m prove it deal, I think our #2 WR will be found in the draft.

  18. They've got $15m in cap space, more than the Panthers. The only player with a cap number over $10m is Richard Sherman. It's called prudent cap management.
  19. No one cares about weed/roids/aderall in the league.
  20. Doubt we'd be getting a 3rd for Hardy if he has to take a 1-year prove it deal.
