  1. Wilks went back to his Rams turtle game plan. If he doesn’t trust PJ, then put Baker in. You need to threaten and have some semblance of a pass game. Unless he’s just being a tank commander in which case keep on keeping on.
  2. Calling my shot today (bookmark this post) - one of the 5 candidates below WILL be the next Panthers HC Shane Waldron, OC, Seahawks Shane Steichen, OC, Eagles DeMeco Ryans, DC, 49ers Frank Reich, ex-HC, Colts Jim Harbaugh, HC, Michigan
  3. Reich is more likely to land on his feet as a HC next season. Zero shot he’s a QB coach next season lol
  4. No thanks. Take a shot at a QB at the top of the draft. None is without flaws, but it’s time.
  5. The frustrating thing is Carolina should probably be at worst 4-4 (Browns and Falcons games should have been Ws) and leading the division. I suppose in the grand scheme a top 5 pick is better to be able to hopefully land a franchise QB, but this team absolutely would've been able to compete this season. I wonder what the record would've been if Rhule was fired last offseason and a better coaching staff had been in place all offseason...
  6. Again, there's no reason to rush this particular deal because the picks are 2024 and 2025. You can probably get that deal in the offseason if you really want. Might as well hold out until then and see if someone will send picks that can help sooner than 2024 and 2025. This team is not that far away. Drop in a franchise QB (I know, I know, easier said than done) and with good coaching they can absolutely contend for the playoffs in 2024.
  7. If the firsts were in 2023 and 2024, I think Carolina probably takes this deal. Being in 2024 and 2025 makes it tougher because there's no guarantee the current GM and whoever is the new coach would be making that 2025 pick.
  8. Another name I could see being dealt is Marquis Haynes. Pass rushers are always en vogue and trading Haynes frees up $3m in cap space next year. Think we could maybe get a mid-round pick (4th?) for him. Given the Miami OT we just signed as well, wouldn't be surprised at all to see Erving shipped off to a team like the Chargers, Broncos, Giants, or Jets for a 5th.
  9. PJ is 7/8 for 67 yards and the one incompletion is a TMJ drop of a 38 yard pass
  10. Wilks single-handedly showing why there’s no merit to the lawsuit with his atrocious game day coaching.
  11. Where the 2 1sts land matter. I’m not taking 2 1sts from a team like the Chiefs or Bills. Two picks in the mid-to-late 20s isn’t enough value for Burns. Now if the Eagles are offering that Saints 2023 1st plus another 1st, I’d do that deal.
  12. Time to see what we have in Bozeman
  13. I’m expecting Shaq to be moved for something like a 5th. Could see Ron trying to bring him in as a vet presence for the Washington D.
  14. Cut/trade Shaq and you get to $10m in space. After that, just need to decide how, if at all, active they want to be in FA. Simple base year salary restructures of Moore and Moton would open up an additional ~$14m or ~$10m respectively. If you don’t want to do any restructures, extending Burns and bringing next year’s cap hit down from $16m to $6-8m would also work. We’ll swallow the dead cap pain this year and next. Easier said than done, but if we hit on the next coach and rookie QB, Panthers will be set up well to make noise in 2024
  15. This article spoke to this: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/what-is-fair-christian-mccaffrey-trade-compensation-heres-a-look-at-what-to-expect/
  16. Lol not at all. The Eagles won the SB in 2018, blew it up after 2019, and went back to the playoffs in 2021 and are SB contenders in 2022. Playoffs in year 2 of a rookie HC/QB regime and contention in year 3 is absolutely doable provided you get those two right.
  17. I will be shocked if we use a day 2 pick on a RB. Much bigger needs after we use the #1 pick on QB. Need WR/EDGE/TE over RB. Grab a mid-round back or sign a vet in FA.
  18. I mean that’s obvious. Every owner has final say on HC decisions.
  19. I would try to offload Shaq and maybe Donte. No one else should be moved.
  20. I would not be surprised if Shaq and Donte are moved before the deadline for mid-round picks. Maybe a 5th for Shaq and a 4th for Donte. Could definitely see the Commanders going after one of the two.
