  1. Swing was not getting the TD on the first drive and not tackling the RB on that end of first half drive short of the endzone. Flip those 2 plays and you may have a Panthers win.
  2. Think this game will be a shootout - don't think it's likely we'll be able to stop Burrow, Chase, and Higgins from lighting up the secondary with the still anemic pass rush, but their run game doesn't scare me at all and their defense is just as bad as ours looked week 1 and 2. If the Panthers are to win this one, it's going to be something like a 31-28 close game. Our best bet is to be able to get an early lead and then play keep away from Burrow by bleeding clock with Hubbard and short Dalton throws moving the chains.
  3. I mean outside of the Bills and MAYBE the Seahawks/Vikings, seems like every team is banged up or extremely flawed. I mean, who do you think the Panthers can't be competitive with before the Week 11 bye? vs Bengals - bottom 5 defense at Bears - bottom 5 OL and rushing offense vs Falcons - banged up OL and fairly anemic offensively, honestly should be 0-3 if the Eagles don't have an epic game management blunder at Commanders - great offense so far but arguably the worst defense in the league at Broncos - rookie QB with an anemic offense (notwithstanding last week's game) vs Saints - strafed us in the dome but I still think that Carr played out of his mind weeks 1 and 2 and didn't expect him to keep up that level of play Giants in Munich - only offense they have is spam Malik Nabers Now I'm not saying we're about to rip off 8 wins in a row and go into the bye week 8-2, but I think being competitive and winning 3 or 4 of those 7 games is very, very plausible. Hell, even the post bye schedule which looked hellacious coming into the season isn't looking AS daunting. Odds are we still get beat by all of the Chiefs, Eagles, and Cowboys, but they haven't exactly looked like world beaters 3 weeks into the season.
  4. His fat ass is pissed the Panthers made him look like a fuging idiot for his take: https://x.com/_necktats/status/1838214638896345549?s=46
  5. The first sack was on JT Sanders not knowing his assignment, not on Icky. Icky has been the weak link on an otherwise strong OL, but you're clearly wrong on this one.
  6. Honestly I'd be down just for the nostalgia...been watching full games from the 2015 season since we haven't had anything to be proud of since the 2017 season. For others that are interested:
  7. I'm saying this honestly, but...does he? It sure doesn't look like he did the first two games.
  8. Can't cut or trade him unfortunately as far as I can tell, we only have ~$3.5m in cap space right now and trading him would immediately accelerate ~$9.8m onto the cap from future charges. Cutting him would accelerate ~$22.4m onto the cap.
  9. See, I don't doubt that Bryce actually looks totally fine or even great in practice / shorts. There's no real pressure in those situations. No one's going all out 100%. No one's disguising coverages. Bryce doesn't have to worry about a muddied pocket in practice, he doesn't have to worry about pre-snap reads and protection calls, etc. He's just kinda standing back there tossing the ball in pristine conditions with clear sight lines.
  10. I seem to have forgotten how to embed tweets here, but: https://x.com/benbbaldwin/status/1836045108929503606?s=46 Excited to see what Dalton can do behind this line.
  11. This is where I'm at - I don't care if Tepper made the call. Obviously I'm hoping Canales made the call without being forced to, but it's the right call for the team regardless of who made it. Even if he was forced too, I'm sure Canales didn't push back whatsoever after what he's seen these first two weeks.
  12. It's really wild to think that in 18 starts, a Bryce Young led offense averaged 12.3ppg. And if you remove the Packers game which is looking like one of the biggest anomalies of all time, it's 11.2ppg. We could barely average 4 FGs/game with Bryce as the signal caller.
  13. Dalton took over for Jameis Winston in New Orleans in 2022 (week 4) and started the last 14 games that season. He went 6-8 and put up the following stats: 252/378 (66.7%), 2,871 yards (7.6 YPA), 18 TDs, 9 INTs, 95.2 QB rating In his only start for CAR (week 3 last season vs Seattle), he was 34/58 (58.6%), 361 yards (6.2 YPA), 2 TDs, 0 INT, 88.4 QB rating At the very least, he is a competent QB that will allow the coaching staff to really evaluate the rest of this offensive infrastructure.
  14. I can buy that Canales made this decision. I'm sure he alerted Tepper before doing it, but its entirely possible he went to Tepper and said "I'm not staking my HC career on this guy. You can fire me and I'll take the 5.75 years of $ on my deal left if you want to play it that way."
  15. I wouldn't be surprised if Tepper is actually ok with this - he probably wants to see if it's truly Young that is a lost cause, or if the investment made into the offensive side of the ball this season was a waste of $ (and whether or not his handpicked QB guru coach actually knows what he's doing).
  16. In hindsight, the funniest part of yesterday was Chubba ripping off an 11-yard rush, jumping up and motioning "feed me" to the sideline, then on the very next play Bryce proceeding to throw into double coverage on a nfw ball that got picked.
  17. I think the offense would be dramatically better with a replacement level QB in there. The defense has been stripped for parts though and with the Brown injury, besides Horn (who's been solid but not shutdown) there isn't a single non-replacement level player.
  18. Others have mentioned this, but you have to put Dalton in for a game or two just to see what you have on this roster. Who are the keepers? Is it worth giving an extension to Diontae Johnson? Is Icky garbage or if there's a more savvy QB in the pocket, does he look a little better?
  19. It's pretty obvious that if Young is going to have even a modicum of success in the NFL, it's not going to be in a Panther uniform. He's done here.
  20. Bryce because you know the owner is going to jam him down our throats. At least with Clausen you knew it was temporary.
  21. Should've put Stroud 2-0 rather than Rhule 3-0, but the point still stands
  22. I don't think I will ever stop following the team. Maybe not as zealously as I did in the past, but even now I spend way too much of my time during the season on this team. I won't lie, I was cautiously optimistic going into this season, but that probably reflects more on me (I'm always optimistic going into every season), but my expectations have been severely downgraded. I don't think this team will go 0-17, but if this team can get even 3 wins it will be a miracle. I think the toughest thing is that from day 1 of Tepper's ownership, there has never seemed to have been any semblance of a plan to build this team. It's been one moon shot after another and holdovers left and right. When Tepper fired Rhule and decided he didn't want to promote Wilks to the full time job (which I was against at the time, but my god, could this franchise use him for some tone setting right about now), he should've completely cleaned house in the coaching staff and front office. He didn't, fired Reich, and again didn't clean house. Canales will get a minimum of 3 years IMO just because Tepper knows the optics of his tenure, but if (when?) Canales is fired, I hope to god it's a clean sweep in the coaching staff and front office. It sucks to be this down on a hire 2 games into the season, but it really feels like the whole operation needs to be detonated and rebuilt from the studs up.
