  1. Honestly I don't think Bryce has looked all that bad. As others have mentioned, truth is most rookie QBs are going to poo teams and struggle their first season - there's always exceptions (what Stroud is doing is awesome), but nothing looks out of the ordinary here. I think we were all fooled by the FO and staff not setting correct expectations coming into the season and Wilks going 4-2 with a power run heavy and defensive gameplan, but the truth is that roster turned over by half and the new scheme doesn't suit our OL's strengths. Bryce hasn't elevated the team, yes, but he's also a rookie who's played 4 career games and I'm much more upset at the FO and staff for how the roster was constructed and the scheming that's been put in place.
  2. He's best as a 4-3 OLB. The only other position he's a decent fit at is SS near the line of scrimmage. Unfortunately he doesn't have a position in a 3-4 and he's definitely not a nickel or FS. Reminds me of when Thomas Davis was drafted and they kept trying to make him a S when it was clear he didn't have the speed to cover on the back end full time. Not sure why this staff once they decided to move to a 3-4 (and really a 3-3-5 for the vast majority of snaps) decided to hang on to him. Should've traded him this past offseason once they realized he wouldn't be a fit.
  3. Buffalo is a SB contender, I don't think they're going to dump their star #1 WR who's on pace for 1,700+ yards and 17 TDs. SB windows don't last long, they're going to go all out for it this year.
  4. The only thing they have in common is their build. He's actually produced in the league. He put up more yards and TDs in his rookie season alone than Shi Smith has in his entire career.
  5. Ah yes, definitely forgot Darnold, that was a very bad one. I guess I mean more of these "margin" FA moves (a CB here, a WR there), I don't think they're that bad. Henderson has been a JAG but like I said it's not like we know who to draft in the 3rd round anyway. I don't think Fitt is a good GM but I also don't think he's going to trade a 3rd round pick to the Jets for Mecole Hardman. It'll either be a swap of underpeforming players (TMJ for Hardman) or a 7th round type deal. Marginal, re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic type move.
  6. I don't think Fitt has overpaid when it comes to vet acquisitions. Draft trades? 100%. But his vet moves aren't that bad: Stephon Gilmore: sent a 6th round pick that was 2 years out, even though we didn't resign him didn't really send anything of value for him. CJ Henderson: a 3rd and Dan Arnold for a guy who was one-year removed from being a top 10 pick and a 5th; a gamble that didn't work but not horrendous. Looking at our prior 3rd round draft picks over the past 5 years, Henderson arguably better than all of them anyway Baker Mayfield: 2024 5th round pick which was recouped when we sent out Dennis Daley to the Titans for a 2024 5th Laviska Shenault: 2023 7th round pick, 2024 6th round pick; I actually think Shenault is worth more than that and should be used more creatively. We basically got these picks back in the Robbie Chosen trade.
  7. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38623489/sources-jets-looking-options-little-used-mecole-hardman Can't hurt IMO. Feel like it'll be one of those "trades" we've seen lately where a team gets Hardman and a 7th round pick in exchange for a 6th round pick. Wouldn't be surprised to see Fitt bring him in, might bring some speed to the WR corps.
  8. I think for sure with a healthy OL including Christensen and Corbett we at least pull out that Minnesota game. Maybe we pull out one of the NFC South games to start the season as well. We'd still be bad, but not winless.
  9. I think Fitt sticks around until the trade deadline. Reich gives up playcalling over the bye week following another embarrassing loss to Miami. Then if the team loses to Houston after the bye and is 0-7, Fitt gets canned following the trade deadline later that week. Then the whole staff is canned at year-end if they finish with 3 wins or less.
  10. Eh, I mean Thielen is on pace for nearly 1,350 yards and 10 TDs...although I suppose you could say he's a finished product and Jefferson isn't teaching him anything he doesn't already know.
  11. The 2024 first round pick is a sunk cost. It can't help the Panthers now. Playing Bryce as much as possible to get a good a look to decide if he has enough talent to justify building around him with talent is now the paramount concern of this season. There is no reason to play Dalton unless Bryce is legitimately injured.

  13. Normally I’d say “a 3rd? GFY”, but then again: 2023: DJ Johnson 2022: Matt Corral 2021: Christensen, Tremble 2019: Will Grier (no pick in 2020) 2018: Rashaan Gaulden 2017: Daeshon Hall 2016: Daryl Worley …so yeah, go ahead because we can’t draft for poo anyway
  14. I'd rather just bring in Chase Claypool for free once the Bears cut him than send out more value for a guy like Van Jefferson...
  15. I’m no capologist but looking at the details of Adams’ contract, it seems like Vegas would take a $40m dead cap hit if they traded him? Not sure that’s feasible.
  16. Based on the trajectory of this season, I'm envisioning Scott being fired during the bye week, Frank handing off playcalling over the bye week, and then anything less than 5 wins (after starting 0-6 so going at least 5-6 post bye week) will mean Reich and crew are also axed.
  17. There is a legitimate chance the Hornets win a regular season game before the Panthers do. They start the season with Atlanta and Detroit at home on 10/25 and 10/27. Panthers are at Detroit, at Miami, bye week, then Houston at home on 10/29.
  18. Tommy Tremble - 3rd round pick, 1 catch on 1 target through 4 games Ian Thomas - former 4th round pick, re-signed to a 3-year, $17m deal after showing nothing, 1 catch on 2 targets through 4 games The amount of resources in terms of draft capital and cash spent on these two guys for that amount of production is horrendous.
  19. Sure, but then that means they actually leaned into what you were saying they should do, and it produced a grand total of 83 yards on 31 attempts. I don't know if Miles is cooked or just hurt (which if he is, the team needs to sit him until he's healthy), but he has been trending down in YPC every game. Week 1 - 4.0 YPC on 18 carries Week 2 - 3.1 YPC on 13 carries Week 3 - 2.7 YPC on 9 carries Week 4 - 1.5 YPC on 13 carries We signed this guy to a $24m contract.
  20. Huh? We're averaging 4.0 YPC which is tied for 19th in the league. Remove QB scrambles and we're averaging 3.5 YPC which would rank 26th in the league. Where are you getting your numbers from? https://www.espn.com/nfl/stats/team/_/stat/rushing/table/rushing/sort/yardsPerRushAttempt/dir/desc
  21. I can't say it's not possible. He interviewed for the HC job with all 5 teams looking this past offseason, the Denver defense looks like ass now that he's gone, and aside from the run defense, he's holding things together with duct tape given the injuries across the back end he's dealt with. He'll be plucked off this staff sooner than later, might as well be us.
  22. I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing the coaching staff is dialing up 10-12 WR screens at the LOS. A few? Sure. But I think Bryce keeps checking into these screens himself. Maybe try to run the play as called and stop checking into safe throws.
  23. Hindsight 20/20, but man, imagine if you keep CMC, trade Burns to the Rams for that huge amount of draft capital, then use that capital to move up in this past year's draft rather than including Moore. Bryce may not be the guy, but I'd like to see how he'd look with some proven playmakers around him.
  24. I have a hard time seeing Payton willing to move Jeudy for anything less than a day 2 pick. If Jeudy is the target, think it'd have to be Jeudy and draft compensation for Burns.
