There are 0 people here who touted Fields and wanted him as the pick for us more than myself. That being said, can you not see we are trying to build an entire team here? The moves all made sense. Justin Fields went to a great situation for him where the fan base is going to love him. As of today Justin Fields has thrown 0 passes in the NFL. There is no way to know if he’s going to be better than Sam Darnold or not. It’s weird that you only will bump this thread if Fields is better. What about Mac Jones? Kellen Mond? Kyle Trask? Just Justin Fields? We passed on all of them. We are a franchise that has had very little to celebrate as we have never had back to back winning seasons. By all accounts we had a hell of a draft. Let’s enjoy that for now and cheer and hope Sam is our answer.

If we didn’t beat Teddy B and the Saints the year before we definitely draft Justin Herbert. This year if we didn’t beat Ron we could have been the Dolphins. Third overall and get a monster haul from the 49ers to move back to 12 and gotten a really good player or moved up to 6 like the Dolphins did and grabbed Sewell or Fields or Horn and still had extra picks leftover.

I think you somehow are confusing team success with individual success. Teddy got carried in Minnesota and they let him walk away. They chose Case Keenum and Kirk Cousins over him. Teddy got carried in New Orleans and they chose Taysom Hill and Jamies Winston over him. The Jets had him in the building and decided to trade him away. We literally had him here and after one season we’ve done everything we can to get rid of him and find anything else. They literally chose a reclamation project over him. Sam Darnold has sucked and somehow still outscored Teddy while Teddy has been surrounded by talent everywhere he has been. The goal of an offense is to score touchdowns. QBs need to pass for scores. You want to pat him on the back for getting yards but can’t deny he doesn’t throw for scores. Id bet anything that if Sam Darnold plays 14 games this year he throws for more touchdowns than Teddy. Teddy will be on another team as a backup in another year and you’ll still believe he some franchise QB lol. He sucked. If he played better he’d still be here. Are you a fan of the college he played for? That would explain some of this rose tint.

If you believe Teddy didn’t suck last year then you’ve cemented your status as somebody nobody here should take seriously. His new career high in touchdown passes is still lower than 2/3 of Sam Darnolds seasons so far.

I’ll fr disappointed if he isn’t first team All County. He should be looking at First Team All State as a rookie.

I’m not sold on Gross Matos yet. He could learn some pass rushing from Melvin. To me, as always, it depends on the cost.

For those who dislike that we stuck with Darnold ( it’s known I wanted Fields ) compare Darnolds numbers against the Dolphins and Patriots and then compare it to everyone else. He was fine. He got completely owned by the Pats and Dolphins and he has like 16 TDs to 6 INTs in his career against the NFC, Its a known he sucked against the Pats and Phins. But being objective you’ll see against everyone else combined he looked like a good young QB.
