  1. And he’s young and his extension was signed before everyone went nuts on WR contracts.
  2. I don’t think Bears fans are idiots for feeling they got the better of the deal. I also don’t think we should be too upset. We just need to nail the pick for it to make sense. You can trade up to 1 but still pick the wrong guy. It’s like when Chicago traded up to get Mitch. The move was solid. The pick was wrong. Had it been Mahomes instead history would be nicer to them. We made the right trade. Now we need to make the right pick.
  3. You’re asking the wrong guy. I didn’t want to give up DJ. He’d help a new QB out and if grabbing WR was so simple, as you said, we would have had a number 2 close in talent and production to DJ already. Id rather give up something else but you’re asking Chicago to drop to 9 so you have to give a little something extra. We don’t have too many guys on the roster with that kind of value. So unfortunately it was DJ who had to go.
  4. They never wanted Burns. He doesn’t help on the run game.
  5. Accurate. Burns was who a lot of our fans wanted to give up but DJ Moore was always their target. The FA WR market it sus but the FA rusher market is better. Plus DJ already has the contract where with Burns you’d have to offer a new contract to plus a bonus. Both sides win so long as we nail the pick.
  6. Bears get a young WR1 under contract for three more years who has proven himself in the NFL was more important to Chicago than a 2025 first. It sets their WR room up from a question mark to an asset. And out of the other options to trade for out there, DJ was significantly better or significantly younger than the other options. A 2025 first doesn’t help Justin Fields out next season. They need the help now. For a team that feels they have their guy at QB, they just dropped 8 spots in the draft and picked up a known WR1, will still get an elite player at 9, and picked up a few more staters along the way. It’s a fair deal for everyone. Now WE are the team that desperately needs a WR to sign here. But I’m not sure how many are going to want to sign to play with a rookie.
  7. There are folks who believe DJ Moore isn’t a true #1. If they are correct then we haven’t had a true #1 since prime Steve Smith. Maybe finding receivers is easier than finding a QB but for our organization we’ve sucked at finding both. A first, two seconds, and a player worthy of additional firsts or seconds is a fair trade to move up 8 spots.
  8. I never wavered off of trading up to one. This is the type of staff you put together? Then they deserve the chance to get their guy without risk of another organization leap frogging us and ruining it.
  9. So there’s a couple things here. I loved moving to 1. Wasn’t so happy about losing DJ. If replacing WRs was so easy we would have a better WR room even outside of DJ these past few years.
  10. I wouldn’t project a dude going into year 3 with Marshall’s stats as a guy who could make it as a 1
  11. And they still pick at 9 so they can get a top offensive lineman or defensive player. And DJs contract extension is super friendly. They keep all that cap space. They are in prime position to be much more competitive this season.
  12. I will be slightly disappointed but they’ll have my trust. Nobody can jump us. We got our guy. There’s no need for smoke and mirrors now.
  13. I mean we have future picks and Brian Burns. Fugg it, let’s trade up to two and take the top two QBs we like
  14. In what way? He’s not as athletically gifted as any of these four lol
  15. I have mixed feelings right now. By our guy I believe you mean Stroud. I wish we would come out tomorrow and announce we are drafting Stroud. There’s no point keeping it secret anymore. However, this is the best staff we have ever put together and our guys decided to go up to one and get our guy. So if it’s not Stroud I’ll still have confidence it’s going to work out. But I really really want it to be Stroud. Like the only one of the top four I’m not high on is Young. But if he’s the pick, screw it, let’s go Bryce! I trust this staff.
