Less worried about winning the bowl this year and more worried that our QB of the future really has no great targets to throw to to make his transition to the NFL easier.

DJ was one of the few Panthers I would have deemed untouchable. We’ve had such a hard time finding productive WRs. But it is what it is. I’m not going to be mad that a player we trade away says a new team wanted him more. It’s the truth.

Y’all remember the last time Bryce Young was drafted? His name was Pat White. He was a 190 pound QB. He couldn’t take NFL hits. Good thing he had “it” though.

He’s gone over 500 yards once in his career, he gives you 300-350 yards a year most years. It’s better than Thomas for sure for he’s not terrific. I’ll take any starter upgrade I can get so this is positive news but it’s nothing to write home about.

There a bunch of QBs who aren’t signed who can sit there and talk CJ through how to prepare every day and point out missed reads and such that wouldn’t cost 10 million.

This. I don’t believe CJ needs more than the coaches to coach him through the season. He doesn’t need a mentor. Richardson absolutely would.

I think the other teams have improved or look better than us right now. Hopefully we hit some homers during the draft. But right now we look like a team picking in the top half of the first round again.

I don’t need a mentor / extra coach to have that cap hit. We have a bunch of former QBs on the coaching staff for that role. We could have gone cheaper.

Because signing Dalton worked out for Chicago? Dallas? New Orleans?

When we have such little cap I don’t like it. The Bears wasted an off-season of Fields by declaring Dalton QB1 and taking reps away from him. Dalton shouldn’t take a single rep from Stroud.

Not just that, you’d need a team so deep at WR they wouldn’t draft MHjr in that draft slot and be willing to move back significantly. It’s not even worth dreaming about.

And we are giving our first rounder to the Bears.

Can probably turn Richardson into a TE if he doesn’t work out
