Bears would have accepted Moore, Burns or Brown.

I don’t think anyone is denying that. -

I don’t necessarily think it’s wrong for their situation. If Moore plays how he did here he’s going to help their young qb develop in a major way. For what Burns does you can pay Yannick to hit the QB and not play the run. Im a jury is still out on Derrick. He’s had one really good year so you hope he’s going to add onto that and not regress. -

In todays NFL?… that’s a problem. -

I get your stance. I just think if it’s that easy to snag a WR why have we been so bad at it? -

I think the Bears valued DJ the most out of the three. Young WR under control with a friendly contract for a few years. Helps out Fields and rounds out their WR room. Burns is basically just a rusher and Brown is just a run stuffer. They got more boxes checked with DJ. -
Let me know what bar and I’ll see you there

I can see it. My problem with Brown is a DT picked it in the top ten should be a QB killer type. Not just a run stuffer. He’s had one really good year in the NFL now. Let’s hope he builds on it and adds another element. -

Part of that is because Burns is basically no help in the run game and YGM doesn’t belong in the NFL. -

I hear you but then why have we had such bad luck at picking and developing WRs? -

I would have much rather parted with Brown over Burns or Moore.- 95 replies

Texan's offered Bears 2024 First Round pick to move up to #1.

Getting DJ Moore changed things for them. And it’s safer to take the deal presented to you right now than HOPE somebody offers a better one closer to the draft. -
Makes sense if Stroud is the pick. He’s a Stroud type WR.

He’s a 700 yard receiver when he has Jefferson getting double teamed w dry play. It’ll be interesting to see bjs performance without the games top WR across from him.

Why Bryce young will be the pick and we should be excited
Varking replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m not going to declare a guy who never took a snap in the NFL as already better than a guy who has 300 TDS, 40k yards and a great win-loss record in the NFL. Bryce has a long way to go before anyone should be declaring him better than an established NFL QB of Wilson’s caliber. -
I think he’ll end up being the 2 this year before passing TMJ for the 1.

Marc Ryan - "Carolina Zeroed in on Stroud and Richardson"
Varking replied to CPcavedweller's topic in Carolina Panthers
To be clear only Stroud and Richardson, period, had 250+ yards, at least one passing touchdown and no interceptions against UGA this year. That’s it. Anybody who watches Florida football year round knows this was the worst pass catching group of players we have had in ages. Both in the ability to separate and the ability to hold onto the ball. -
Thanks for bringing a team to Charlotte.

Will depend on the QB play. Y’all have Marvin Harrison Jr at WR and Henderson at RB that when both are healthy are basically unstoppable. This could have been Quinn Ewers season to shine had he not run off to Texas. -
He said he understood the business side of it and moved on quickly. Going to miss the housing in Charlotte though.

You can look at my post history. Wanting us to trade up to pair Burrow with The OC we got from LSU. Before the draft I became sold on Herbert. I’ve always been anti Zach Wilson and Trey Lance. Obviously felt Lawrence would make a good pro and I wanted us to draft Fields, who I think takes a significant step forward passing the ball this season… I wasn’t too concerned with QBs before that because we have had Cam on the roster. Im not confident Young stays healthy for years in the NFL and when a smaller guy like him gets the legs dinged up a bit how elusive will he be in the pocket? It’s those minor dings that lead to the major ones. Strouds been my pick since October on this message board and I’m confident the Carolina Panthers get better, faster, with CJ Stroud than we do with Young because we are going to have years where Young misses the bulk of the snaps due to injury. -

If Day keeps losing to Michigan he will become an absolute stud of a QB Coach or offensive coordinator for another team. -
He was sort of asked to throw the Panthers QB situation under the bus a few times during his interview and he took the high road. It’s less than ten minutes long, folks should listen to it before feeling offended about something he said in the interview. At no point did it seem like he was being a drama queen.
