  1. A dawg to me is a killer. Like Kobe Bryant in the NBA. He was going to work hard in the weight room. He’s going to study harder. Practice harder. He could take over games. First in, last out types of guys. Not necessarily nice. I don’t think any of the kids in this class are dawgs.
  2. Anyone claiming Young has that dawg in him, like he’s some first in, last out, busts his ass in the weight room and during film study is just being nice.
  3. I think there’s a difference between being very talented and playing on a talented team vs having that dawg in you. I don’t believe any of the top 4 QBs in this class have that dawg in them.
  4. Yeah I don’t really know who to go to for stats like these
  5. Williams, while having better size, also possesses a better arm and legs. He’s just kind of a jerk.
  6. I’d put money on me watching significantly more college football than the overwhelming majority of the board here. There’s a difference between being super talented and having that dawg in you. I don’t believe he has it in him.
  7. If he was the clear cut best there would be no debate on if he was going to be the top pick in the draft or not. Stroud wouldn’t be in the running. He was advised not to throw or run drills because he would come across as less athletic than a bunch of the guys and his arm would look lesser compared to Stroud, Richardson, Levis, Bennett, etc. He doesn’t have that dawg in him.
  8. I’ve never seen you this defensive over a prospect before.
  9. There’s good reason his advisors told him not to throw at the combine.
  10. Oh I think he can sling it 41-44 yards for sure if he puts everything behind it.
  11. He would have had the weakest arm at the combine of all the big four and I think Stetson would have had better velocity as well. Young’s arm isn’t Clausen or Dorsey bad but his arm will be in the bottom half of nfl starters once he’s drafted.
  12. Velocity is only a problem if you have bad ball placement. We will see what his arm looks like in the NFL soon enough. Id be more worried that the scrambling he does in college leads to hard hits in the NFL more than his average arm causing him issues in the pros.
  13. His arm isn’t a noodle like Ken Dorsey but his arm strength will be in the bottom half of the NFL for sure the moment he’s drafted. Not a huge ordeal but it means he has less room for mistakes when he throws.
  14. Yeah but when you don’t have any numbers to back what you’re saying it makes it hard to trust what you are saying. Is there some metric or is it just your eye test and memory that determined he ran around a ton more this year vs last year?
  15. 2021 - 81 rushes for Young 2022 - 49 rushes for Young Looks like he scrambled more in 2021. He also has plays where he had 10+ seconds before having to throw this year:
  16. I don’t think it’s him, completely, he’s being guided by folks to not compete at the combine, not reweigh during the pro days, etc. All these kids are getting advice from people they trust.
  17. His first instinct wasn’t even to run in college so that’s a weird statement.
  18. I’ve literally said if we draft any of the four first round QBs I’ll be happy. I’m done with retreads. It doesn’t mean I can’t voice concerns about the kid.
  19. Saban said Young has had a few of these injuries before
  20. I don’t want my leader of my football team acting shady. Wouldn’t reweigh. Wouldn’t throw live around other guys because it would show his arm isn’t on the level theirs is. He would have been better off just skipping the entire combine.
  21. “He’s had these before”. That would be a recurring issue.
  22. You know why it happened. He put on water weight to pretend bulk up for the scale because his weight DOES MATTER or he wouldn’t have been BSing it
  23. It’s weird when everyone else in the class throws and you’re just standing there doing nothing.
  24. Everyone keeps saying Young has no durability issues must be ignoring that he missed a game this year due to injury?
