Yeah I wrote this after the Sunday games. Those guys that are “playmakers” never had a 100 yard game in the NFL before. Each tight end had been in the NFL for five seasons before this. Nico Collin’s has more yards and TDs through 8 games this season with Stroud than any complete season the two years prior. Tank Dell was like the 11th WR drafted. Yet he’s outperforming plenty of the ones drafted earlier ( and they drafted him because CJ asked for him ). My point is they are being enhanced by CJ Stroud. Collins, Brown and Schultz are all on pace to have career years catching the ball and Tank Dell looks to be a good one. Do we really believe by watching the actual games that all of those dudes would be having career years with Bryce?

I just have to hype myself up going into each week, man. Thats all I am doing lol

I get my hopes up every week watching this team and then try not to get too frustrated by the time the game ends each week.

But the Bears were coming off of a terrific offensive performance the Sunday before that and there is little time to gameplan for a team on short notice. So Fields went from: 28 of 35 for 335 and 4 TDs to 1 INT to: 15 of 29 for 282 and 4 TDs to 0 INTs. Washington was coming off of giving up 30+ points to the Eagles before giving up 40 to the Bears. Chicagos offense is coming off a performance where their undrafted QB this time threw 3 INTs and will likely be the starter Thursday night. Fields is considered day to day still. If Bagent is starting I don't expect much from Chicago. The Bears last two performances were 13 points and 17 points. We get this W.

Agreed. There is no metric right now one can point to based on preseason play and say if they do X at a Y level during preseason it means big things are coming! Its like the new "hes the training camp MVP" when the guy was WR8 or 9 the previous year on the practice squad. It gets folks hyped up right then but in the grand scheme of things it probably didn't lead to anything.

There’s far too many examples of dudes being all world in preseason and it not translating to the real games. And there’s far too many examples of dudes struggling and then the switch flips for the regular season. And with the new strategies for preseason with only three games it’s even harder to tell what’s going to translate because coaches haven’t found that sweet spot yet for playing vs resting.

Preseason would have you thinking Stroud was an INT machine and he wasn’t ready for the NFL. Preseason ultimately doesnt tell you how somebody is about to perform in the regular season.

Again, easy to see who isn’t watching but is commenting. -

Remove the Vikings game because he came in late but watch the games. An undrafted d2 rookie qb has made significantly more plays than Bryce -

I’ve been more supportive of Bryce week after week but honestly we should probably stop blaming everybody but Bryce. He deserves his fair share of the blame at this point in the season. We switched playcaller and the offense is somehow worse now than it was before. Our best offensive game was with Andy Dalton at QB. Bryce had contributed turnovers that were scoring plays for the other team 3 or 4 times now. He’s TD to INT ratio is putrid and he spends most of the game playing it super safe. We can’t ignore that most of our offensive players around Bryce are having career worst years. From a WR standpoint and TE standpoint is that because they suck or is Bryce contributing to that? Richardson flashed more in his like 100 pass attempts than Bryce has all season. Levis flashed more in two games than Bryce has all season. I won’t even compare to Stroud. Hell, Tyson Bagent had flashed more in the NFL than Bryce Young. I’m sure Bryce will be better next season but we need to stop making excuse after excuse for him. Especially when yall were beating your chest last week over 15 points. -

The Texans OC drew up the game winning play today on the sideline. The Texans hadn’t practiced it since training camp. A lot of times it’s just about executing at a higher level than the other guys. And our guys haven’t been doing it on offense. -
I watched him throw it away a few times today so he does do it. He does throw aways to the sidelines every week. But he can’t do that every play.

Other teams whiff on QBs too. You just have to draft better and sign better complimentary players going forward. Can’t change what we’ve already done. -
Bryce Young looks like D2 undrafted Tyson Bagent
-
He got ten for us and 14 for them so far. This is rough. And right after the big play too.

Whats the point of firing a GM now after the deadline is over? Going to pay him anyway for the season just let him finish it out. If I were Tepper I wouldn't even come into the office until the season ends.

Alabama QBs amirite? Tua had a bad day today too. But hes tons of help to give him a chance to succeed. We don't have tons here and Mac for sure doesn't have that in NE. Teams shouldn't draft QBs unless they are going to immediately surround them with weapons and give them a chance to develop.
