I don’t fully equate potential with size and speed. I don’t believe Bryce is some between the ear genius where he’s significantly smarter in a football sense than CJ Stroud. But Stroud is a taller guy, with more weight to him, with a better arm, and he’s not having issues making reads and I’d argue he’s as mobile as Bryce if not a little more. He just didn’t show it until the UGA game. Richardson has basically unlimited potential. Will he reach that? I doubt it but potential-wise he’s above both Stroud and Bryce. Bryce was supposed to be the high floor safe pick. Most evaluators had no doubt he would be good in there NFL the only question was size/durability. Which you do have to ask yourself if he’s playing through a bum ankle will this cause him to form some bad habits just to be out there playing?

What do folks want to talk about here? If I talk about the season itself im told it’s just 3 games, if I talk about what the offseason was like im told it doesn’t matter. So maybe we should have a game day thread, threads for injury updates and that’s it? Or does weeks 1-3 going into week 4 show Stroud and Richardson as better players so far than Bryce?

That is my argument. He should be better hence why he went higher.

Was he?!!

You don’t take edibles first thing in the morning.

Tank Dell was drafted in the 3rd. We drafted a WR in the 2nd. Why isn’t our guy better?
-
Why do you believe Bryce has a higher ceiling than CJ and that this is as good as Richardson is ever going to get? Richardson played in two games and got hurt and Bryce played in two games and got hurt. So why the injury concern for AR but not Bryce?

Which " NFL Team" would you want your next GM groomed from?!

Our own but unfortunately that would mean somebody in the front office did something worthy of a promotion. I wonder if we can hire an outside firm to do our drafting next season. Outside of the Bryce pick there was a lot of question marks in my opinion. -
Thielen last year had 700+ yards. TMJ had 400+. The top two for the Texans had 400+ and 500+. They drafted a WR in the third round. We drafted one in the second. Their offensive line finished in the bottom third last season. Ours was smack dab in the middle. They had a good RB who surprised people, we went out and bought a guy that had better bulk stats and efficiency stats and had a history of being decent at catching the ball. They hired a defensive minded head coach. We went offensive. Yes, going into the season the Panthers looked to have more talent and a significantly more promising offense than the Houston Texans.

We were never a good franchise. But now we are just a bad franchise lol. He should luck into a couple winning seasons in a row and then sell the team.

As folks have said, it’s just two games… But we on paper have a better offensive line ( Stroud had his whole starting offense miss the first two games basically ) , we have a better running back, we have better WRs, we have an all star coaching staff. They are better at TE on paper going into this season. But this can only be judged off of last season or three games of this season.

He’s small is accurate. He came throw past five yards is inaccurate. You can’t be a bust after two games.
-
On paper we looked better than the Texans in almost every facet going into this season except Tight End so I doubt that. His two leading WR going into this season had 400 and 500 yard seasons last year. AT alone for us had 700 and TMJ had 400-500. Our line finished higher ranked than theirs, too. All star coaching staff vs defensive minded head coach and so on and so on. I think he thought he was our pick even up until draft night.

To me it’s not just Stroud, Richardson looked more in control when he’s out there than Bryce through two games. It could be a confidence thing. It could be too much in his plate vs theirs. Whatever it is, he’s looked the worst of the three first rounders. That’s not to say he’s looked bad or terrible, it’s just the other two have flashed more. And the game we just saw from Stroud is the type of game I was hoping to get from Bryce earlier on based on his college tape plus what everyone was saying in camp about his multiple arm angles and throwing guys open.

I don’t see anything here I disagree with in any major way. I’d also give him a C grade so far.
-
I’m not sold on Love at all. He’s barely completing 50% of his passes through three games.

Bryce was the top rated prospect. The team was looking for a reason to make him the easy pick. I think they had their mind made up before dinner. He’s our pick. He needs to get healthy and get out on the field. We need him to succeed or it’s another 3+ years of the last 5 years. This sucks.

Even more pressure numbers (not for the weak stomach)

But I never complained about his touchdown to cut it to 3. Quote reply them, not me. -

He’s also trying to pretend Dalton wasn’t 14 of 22 for 158 and a touchdown in the first half while the game was closer. -

He didn’t play as well in his first two starts as Dalton did in this one. Sorry. -

Were you one of the folks dunking on CJ Stroud for garbage time stats? -

He threw almost 60 passes without an int in a game he was pressured like crazy on? I guess we can’t celebrate anything going better than bad! -
Former UVA quarterback Bryce Perkins works out for Panthers
Varking replied to Dorian Gray's topic in Carolina Panthers
Does this mean maybe Bryce is out for more than a week or two? Not ideal if that’s what this is. We need him out there as much as possible. -

Not just yards, he didn’t throw an INT either.
