I don’t know if it’s the player or the playcalling or if it’s a mix of both. I know our offense used to look like poo until Riverboat showed up and let the offense gamble and go for it and keep drives going. I’ve closely followed the Bears because of Justin Fields and when the offense is wide open he looks like a much better player than when they throw 14 screens a game after running on first and second down and this makes me lean more towards playcalling than Bryce being the issue.

They need multiple defensive linemen. So they have two routes to go: 1. Fields sucks the rest of the year and they draft Caleb first overall. Second pick is to trade back for defensive lineman plus extra picks. 2. Fields doesn’t keep up with what he just did this week but he looks improved and they stick with him. The defense continues to be ass because they don’t get any pressure on any QB - Bears trade first overall pick for Caleb-takers and then Bears trade second overall pick to move back and accrue like 5 to 6 total first and second rounders. Spend those picks between this year and next on defenders or flip some of the picks for top tier defenders about to be up for contracts. There’s a lot of flexibility there. Heck, the nightmare scenario is they draft Williams first overall and then follow it up with Marvin Harrison Jr. but that doesn’t fix how putrid their pass rush is. They have a good secondary when healthy, and their linebackers aren’t terrible. But they get zero pressure on QBs and get picked apart. Houston had picks 2 and 3 this year and flipped that into Stroud who looks like a good QB and Anderson who looks like a good DE. Bears need to hit on both players like that.

It wasn’t a hypothetical. That is what reality is. Our defense picked off a pass and took it 99 yards to the house to give us 6, and then we held the lead until Bryce got strip sacked and returned that fumble for a TD. That’s not a hypothetical. That’s literally what happened. Our defense gave us a TD. Our offense gave them a TD back. I didn’t type in hypotheticals.

Bears will likely use the first pick and trade the second one. They need an entire defense.

Yes there are games Cam would extend plays and hit folks downfield and we win. Plus all his goal line success. But there’s also a chance we win a couple if Dalton starts them. That’s the truth right now. But this season was never going to be about Dalton or any other player on the team. If we won a ton and our QB sucked we would be worried we gave up too much to pick the wrong guy. And if we sucked but our QB killed it we would be happy. This is all about our rookie QB regardless of record.

Bryce is 3/12 throwing the ball deep. You have to adapt to that. I don’t think Frank has done a great job calling plays but the only thing moving the ball at all are short route for Bryce right now. Or we can just keep throwing deep and basically going 3 and out and keep our defense on the field a ton.

I think Reichs wheelhouse is calling plays for a guy like CJ, not Bryce. I think Bryce was a Tepper hire. I don’t believe CJ struggles as much as Bryce has, here. He makes decisions and knows where to go with the ball before it’s snapped on a big chunk of plays. He throws with crazy anticipation right now. Bryce is more gun-shy. And that’s probably on the coaching but I believe if Frank had CJ he would be calling plays differently.

We don’t need to crown anyone after four games, however, all we can base things off of for these rookie QBs is the games they actually have played. And so far, Stroud and Richardson are 1-2 with Bryce at 3.

The Texans haven’t played their starting offensive line all year. And their best one, Tunsil, has been inactive almost every week. We can’t use the offensive line as an excuse.

Disgusting.

I’m not going to mock or dismiss any Panther fan that has a glimmer of any hope week to week. It’s difficult but I try to have that mindset every week if we are going to win until we end up not winning. Detroit has a good run game and I worry we aren’t going to stop their run. Plus they get Jameson Williams back this week I believe so they have a deep threat to keep up from crowding the line.

It’s time to open up. Our schedule is: AT Detroit AT Miami BYE Two games nobody expects us to compete in so open it up and try things out. Because after the bye we have: Houston ( CJ Stroud ) at home in Bank of America Indianapolis ( Anthony Richardson ) at home in Bank of America AT Chicago ( Justin Fields ) Two games we should get destroyed, a bye and then three games against young QBs we had a shot at picking. Panthers fans are upset now but if Bryce doesn’t look better head to head against the three after the bye it’s going to be full meltdown mode, not just here, but all over social media.

If anything it shows how much money they spent on players who aren’t suiting up but folks are still pulling through. To be fair though, they don’t have anyone as bad as Jordan or Zavala on their team.

They haven’t played a game with their starting 5 this year. Each game they have been missing 2-4 starting offensive lineman. Week 1 everyone started healthy and two went down in Q2.
