  1. As a former minor leaguer I appreciate your baseball scale
  2. I never said he had a noodle. It’s just average. It’s not elite.
  3. I’m not trying to insult you, man. You’re wrong. Attached:
  4. Think of it like this: if you rated every starter based on their arm strength, Justin Fields is in the top half of the NFL. If you rate Bryce Young the same way, he’s in the bottom half and likely bottom third. There aren’t many starters you would look at and say Bryce throws the ball harder than them. And that’s ok.
  5. Bryce had good college zip. That’s average at best NFL zip. This isn’t revisionist history.
  6. No. I disagree with that. However, it is fair to point out that Fields made throws tonight, that physically, Bryce can’t try and get away with. He has to be smarter and take less risks. Cam got away with risky throws as well when he was younger because of the zip he could put on the ball. Different QBs have to win different ways. Just like Bryce will never be as dynamic of a runner as Justin, it doesn’t mean he’s automatically worse as a QB.
  7. If you want to be optimistic Bryce has average arm strength.
  8. Bryce doesn’t have that in his arm man. It’s ok to recognize our QB isn’t some Greek god. If that throw is any slower it’s picked. And Bryce can’t throw it as hard as Justin did on that play. You can call “bullshit” but it doesn’t mean those of us who are saying it are wrong.
  9. Do you actually believe that Bryce Young throws with the same zip as Justin Fields?
  10. Brother it’s not subjective at all. It’s not an opinion Fields throws with more velocity than Bryce. It almost feels like you’re just arguing to argue.
  11. Honestly, it feels like I’m watching Chicago make a ton of missteps in Fields development all over again here in Carolina in the form of Bryce and I do feel bad for him.
  12. He doesn’t have the same level of velocity. At the speed in which Bryce throws that last pass to DJ gets picked because it doesn’t get there in time.
  13. Taller, significantly faster, significantly stronger arm, etc. they aren’t similar. Again, Fields threw two passes that if Bryce tried them they are going the other way. Zip is a difference maker and it won them the game tonight late. And Howell took hits tonight that Bryce doesn’t spin off of and keep going.
  14. For passing on Fields? Passing on Howell? Not taking two firsts for Burns? Trading away the one guy on offense who could help carry a young QB in DJ Moore? Picking Bryce over CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson? Seeing Baker be significantly better away from us? Drafting Mingo over Tank Dell?
  15. The folks who come into threads like this and make up made up arguments… cmon man… who has said we expect him to throw for 350 a game?
  16. Turn it effing loose. Play to win. No more playing to not lose.
  17. I bet 25 dollars the Bears would win outright tonight, and I now I’ll cash out 118 bucks. Easy little money. Now I’ll get some new comics on Tuesday
  18. They just said “when you have an elite WR like DJ Moore it makes things easier for your young QB”. Stupid trade.
  19. Howell was as advertised tonight, a dawg.
  20. The Bears sent Chase Claypool home before Sundays game and told him stay away. Since then Fields threw for 8 TDs and DJ Moore has shown he’s a true #1 and the offense has put up like just under 70 points in those two games. We don’t want Claypool here once he’s cut.
  21. Yeah I’ll never have another week like this. I try to avoid having multiple players on one team usually.
  22. Back to back 4 TD games for Fields.
  23. And folks don’t want to hear it, but Howell and Fields made throws tonight that Bryce simply can’t get away with, with his arm strength. He’s got to make up for that with better touch but that means the need for him to be perfect is much higher.
