  1. I’m confused why a thread for positive opinions got overrun with personal attacks almost right out of the gate? The good news: Bryce has looked better week by week and we have 3-4 winnable games coming up.
  2. I’m not sure how Pat rubs folks here so wrong that they act like it’s some travesty to listen to his podcast while simultaneously pitching other trash tier podcasts and YouTube shows… while also coming here to the forum to read our poo takes lol
  3. Did that lad get banned who used to talk about Tepper and the Appaloosa model all the time? I can’t remember his username but I haven’t seen him around a ton.
  4. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone seriously pitching that. I just wanted to update folks who come into a thread thinking we have the best scoring offense in the division to have correct information since we aren’t. It’s not a large gap, but the initial title was incorrect is all.
  5. So I did the math: The Saints have only one defensive TD so their offense has scored more than ours. 98 for us, 102 for them. Atlanta has 0 defensive TDs so all 99 of their points is from offense. 98 for us, 99 for them. So now we are third… Tampa has scored 90 total points. They have also only played 5 games. They have one defensive touchdown so 83 points from offense. Offensive totals for the NFC South when you remove defensive scores: Saints = 102 Falcons = 99 Panthers = 98 Bucs = 83 in one less game.
  6. You’re still going to have too many opinion answers. 90% of this board thinks Pitts sucks for instance. I get the thought process activity you are pitching but by the time you add offensive lineman you are really muddying the waters. And again, is untapped talent accounted for? if you just want to say our skill position players aren’t top tier I’d agree with that without question. Do I think AT is better than anything the Patriots throw to? Absolutely. But you are also throwing in Bryce is “doing more” and I am trying to follow you. I know you aren’t trolling. But I think he’s doing what an NFL QB is asked to do for the most part. I don’t believe he’s being asked to carry the offense to crazy heights. We are averaging 16 points a game via offense on average. We’ve scored 98 offense and special teams points. 27 of those was with Dalton which is our season high. 98-27=71. 71/5 is 14.2 points per game from Bryce Young led Panthers offense. He was , at least we were told, he’s being asked to do less now, and we scored 14 offensive points. All in the first quarter when we were executing a script. And then we were shut out for the next three. I just don’t believe Bryce is being asked to do anything more special than what other QBs are being asked. And if he is, he’s not currently capable of it. I like Bryce. I see the flashes of what he can be. But I also see the frustrations folks have over his game currently where he can’t hit deep balls. And every week I say this will be the week he’s finally going to give us that wow game that we salivate over from here to the offseason saying if he can just harness that more consistently we have something special. And then each week when the game is over I’m like well here’s a few plays that stood out and the rest was just middling. His 63% completions would be more impressive if we were trying deep things. But when it’s 63% of passes that are 90% shorter than 12 yards in the air it doesn’t hit the same.
  7. When you’re bad you have to do risky stuff. Glad it worked out and we might get a game.
  8. For sure! But our offense put up 98 points which is about 16 a game. Not good. Hopefully the play caller switch fixes that.
  9. Again, this is still just a subjective totally 100% opinion based assessment with two questions , not one. We can debate talent from a position by position conversation but that’s still going to be ultra subjective. Like Ikky hasn’t played well. But he did last year and he has tremendous talent. He’s more talented than a lot of LTs. What is he asked to do with that talent? Not 100% sure what his assignments are on each snap. We can guess. Back to talent: Justin Jefferson and JaMarr Chase have both said TMJ is more talented than them. I haven’t seen that. So how do we grade talent? Based on draft position? Based on stats? Not every guy is in position for stats the way lesser talented players are, etc. Almost our entire line last year was better across the board. Chuba has more talent than Foreman and Sanders has crazy talent. He’s had mega rush yards and been a hell of a receiver in years past. But he’s not been that here. How do you grade his talent level? These are just quick examples. Nobody here is going to invest 12 hours a day looking at film of every team to gauge talent levels and figure out what each of those units are being asked to do. This is why you can ask a question like this and not get a great reply. Every bit of it is totally subjective.
  10. Take away the 14 points our team has scored on defense and we would be … 98 which means of all the teams to play 6 games we would have just New England and NYG below us.
  11. Herbert was one pick away from being our boy. QQ
  12. We would have to know, legit, what each QB is being asked to do. For starters what is this “more” that Bryce is doing? 63% completions? Bottom five air yards per attempt? Bottom 5 starter TDs? While throwing top ten pass attempts per game? It’s a question nobody can answer because nobody here knows what the Steelers are asking of Kenny Pickett. We don’t know what the Raiders are asking of Jimmy G. We don’t know what the Patriots are asking of Mac Jones. We don’t even fully know what our own team is asking of Bryce. It’s difficult to trust what folks inside the organization are saying about Bryce when it’s easy to point out their lies regarding him. Only Daniel Jones is below him in yards out of the starters in the NFL to start 5 games. What is this more that he is doing that you can clearly point out?
  13. I’ve already replied about the ratio. Just pointing out that completion percent when you throw a ton of passes and 90% of them are short doesn’t feel that impressive to me.
  14. He threw his first interception yesterday. That’s not the first time he was sacked. He’s been sacked 13 times.
  15. For sure! But it also goes to show you how much we are throwing the ball in general. Even if it was Bryce and we threw it 30 less times that game we are still at like 11th overall on that list. That’s a ton of throwing for our rookie QB.
  16. I got two wrong this week QQ. But I don’t throw crazy money on the games. Got one pro game and one college game wrong. Got four right but that means I basically ended with what I started with.
  17. We’ve also thrown more passes than anyone in the league.
  18. 100%. And because they did that they now have a franchise left tackle to block the blind side and DJ Moore at the 1 outside for Caleb to walk into. I love Stroud. I thought he was the best QB in last years class and to me it wasn’t that close. However, Williams for sure gets another grade than any QB in any recent class, even over Lawrence, to me. I don’t think a QB will be this highly ranked going into the draft since Luck. And Maye , to me, is in the same conversation for me as Stroud and I would have put him above Young and Richardson and the others for sure if they were all in the same class.
  19. These QBs weren’t going to succeed in Chicago. It made the most sense to get more assets for their pick to build a team and they got a LT, #1 WR, #2 Corner for it so far plus they’ll have a chance at Maye or Williams in this upcoming draft. Caleb is the highest rated draft QB since Lawrence who was the highest since Luck. I wouldn’t risk passing on him. The QBs in this class had significantly more questions around them than he does. I don’t like the kid as I think he’s a bit of an ass but I don’t see any way you trade away the Williams pick if you have it.
  20. When looking at ticketmaster, sit on the north side where the visitors are and if you can I’d try to get northeast to avoid as much of the sun as possible in your eyes. Top or top right when on Ticketmaster.
  21. We are just watching different games. I’ve watched every snap of Carolina, Indi ( when Richardson played ), Houston and Chicago this year. The run game in Houston hasn’t been good. Go to their boards or subreddit and you’ll see most agreeing. I’m not trying to argue the other points but the whole run game comment through me off. The only teams to have more offensive plays than Carolina in the NFL in 2023 are: Eagles, Jaguars and Saints. Carolina has thrown more pass attempts than any team in the NFL. This is the most surprising stat I looked up today. Only Raiders and Bucs are averaging less yards per carry than the Texans. Texans have the 6th least first downs from running the ball in the NFL. We have 9 more than them. They aren’t doing a better job with the run game than we are in virtually any metric or in any comparison when you look at the season as a whole. If you are strictly looking at yesterday’s games only, maybe. Efficiency stats, bulk stats, and the eye test says they have one of the worst run games in the NFL. Their fans blame it on the offensive line injuries and think the bye week should help them out.
  22. It’s solid trolling. I don’t know who it was.
  23. If we are basing this off of long term potential and what they have shown for 6 weeks obviously Stroud goes 1, Jalen Carter goes much higher but Richardson needs reps and he might be out for the year. So wasted first season. So after Stroud are you gambling on your coaching staff being able to develop Bryce better than Carolina or are you picking Levis? I think Bryce still is the second off the board. Texans could be thinking “if we did this much with CJ let’s see what we can do with somebody more pro ready”.
  24. And to be clear, I see progress from Young. And I’ve never been upset we picked him at #1 overall. He was who most folks had as the top rated QB in the draft. I don’t fault the team for picking him. The only issue I have at all with the move was choosing DJ Moore in the trade package vs giving up more picks or trading Brown or Burns. When you are drafting a QB at 1, you should sell out to get him as much help as possible.
