Does he have progressions speed? He was the worst QB in this batch after his first read. And I believe recently somebody posted data showing he was one of the lower QBs on accuracy of passes five yards plus. Trey Lance was the worst on that category.

You want to believe a QB of his size can run a 4.5 40 and he is choosing NOT to run at his pro day? That doesn’t put concerns to rest. And that’s just the headline.

I think any of the top 4 have the potential to be the best in the class. Most guys don’t realize their potential. I don’t believe he will reach his.

If I’m evaluating a QB I prefer to watch them throw. Run run run pass run pass run run pass isn’t pro style.

Wilson had one good year against a poor division. How do you know he isn’t fools gold?

They run a pro style drop back passing game? Their one game this year was 30 passes. Of which he completed just 15. It was awful. They ran the ball 45 times. The year before? Basically 300 throws to 600 rushes. They past two years they’ve run the ball twice as much as they’ve thrown it. I dont want Mac Jones but I don’t really want Trey Lance either based on what I’ve seen of his play from two years ago.

I pulled up two different games where the majority of his passes were behind the line of scrimmage. And even watching those passes a lot of them had the WR have to 180s to catch the ball. Completely killing their momentum and having to pick back up again after the catch. He is going to need to sit two years to get adjusted.

He’s going to be the best of the Lance/Wilson/Fields/Jones bunch.

I’ve been on the Fields train since QB1. I definitely think he can be the future at the position for us.

He’s 1 of 2 QBs during the entire shows history that didn’t seem like a selfish entitled prick.

And a good chunk of that’s on the QB. The dude is the only WR in the NFL with this feat right now and there’s always that one Huddler that’s like “meh”.

When you are doing something no other WR is doing it’s significant. Especially significant when your QBs suck. He’s doing something no other WR has done the last two years and I’d argue not many top end WRs have a worse group of guys throwing to him. TDs are an issue because guys like Teddy literally miss him wide open in the end zone or don’t see him streaking down the field for potential TDs because he’s looking for the check down. His TD total would be fine. And Julio Jones has long been considered a top 3 WR in the NFL even without the touchdowns.

Yeah it says only 1 WR.

If we land a Fields or Wilson at 8 and don’t have to give away draft capital it would be an absolute home run for us.

Wasn’t Fields the second highest of the 5 potential QBs per PFF on secondary reads? Mac Jones being the worst? A whole bunch of Fields home run balls came on second reads.

Fields is still the #2 QB on my board. #3 overall. People dig into everything Fields does but excuse the concerns of Lance and Wilson at the same time. It’s just a matter of preference I guess. Lance has played one season of football in 3 years. And really it’s even crazier than that. He was at a high school that didn’t throw the ball. So he wasn’t really quarterbacking in high school. He goes to college and sits a year on the best team in their league. Then he plays one amazing year on the best team in his league and then he plays 30 passes in one game where he looked god awful on the best team in the league against lesser comp. But ignore real concerns and base his elite status off of one year. Wilson played one mediocre team all year and looked pedestrian at best. They’ll excuse the entire season before that because he was playing hurt but won’t look at the two bad Fields games where half or 4/5 of the oline, the #1, 3, 4 and 5 pass catching options were missing. Fields has concerns as well but I just don’t understand why Fields is held to a much higher standard than the others. That Fields game against Clemson this past season? That’s the type of game that neither Wilson or Lance has ever had. Banged up against a championship caliber football team and he lit them up.

One miss?

That’s due to offensive playcalling. AnM doesn’t have playcalling issues. They had WB issues. He’s the most up and down QB I’ve ever watched consistently in the SEC.

Kellen Monds last four college games resulted in a total of 3 passing touchdowns. Outside of this season where most SEC QBs put up great numbers he’s been an average QB. And against good teams outside of this year he had typically been downright awful. He has more bad film than good film. Four years of college ball showed you who he was. He’s a mid rounder.

Part of it is the same thing Fields is going through and what Watson went through… prospect fatigue. People have so much tape on you and you’ve been a projected high pick for 2-3 years so people look to rip every decision you make to shreds. Where as one year wonders tend to get more of a pass.

You have Lance as tied with Lawrence as the best prospect in the entire draft?

It would also solve the red zone and third down fears lots of people have if we don’t retain Curtis.

I have him as my number 2 QB. Pe well is my number 2 player. Overall I think their board is outstanding.
