  1. Low key the most embarrassing play of our season last year. Thomas definitely isn’t our future.
  2. He was behind another TE because he dropped the ball and he was behind the true freshman TE due to talent.
  3. This was about if it happened during the draft. There won’t be a trade for him during the draft.
  4. I think the issue was he had more drops than touchdowns at Notre Dame. So he moved down the priority list when it came to throwing the ball to tight ends. Then they recruited Michael Mayer who was the number 2 TE in the country in high school and he is actually a great pass catcher. So Tremble lost the opportunity to a freshman and the freshman gave no reasons for them to look elsewhere. True freshman tight end finished the year tied for first in catches on the team, was second in yards and tied for second in TDs. And again, Tremble dropped his way out of being a target for them. But this isn’t ignore the TE is somehow Notre Dame football lol. The true freshman tight end was their second most targeted pass catcher. Tremble just gave them too many reasons to throw his way.
  5. You had me until you wrote he had very nice hands. He was a drop machine. Great blocker. Awful pass catcher. I’m fine with the pick though. He at least does something well. That makes him an upgrade over Thomas.
  6. Two interceptions in one game. I wrote he got an interception in just one game. You misread.
  7. I’m fine with passing on Fields if they believe in Darnold. I just would have liked them to show me they were going to go all in on Darnold then and given him offensive line help in rounds 1 and 2.
  8. I give it a C. I’m not against it but I felt if you wanted to change the trajectory of the franchise you go with a QB there with Fields or Jones still on the board. That would have been an A. B would have been doing something to upgrade the situation for Darnold on offense. Something like drafting an offensive lineman in rounds 1 and 2. This is the norm for Rhule though. Everywhere he has been the defense has been the reason they won games and the offense has always been an afterthought. So I give it a C for now.
  9. I know but the OP was bringing up Elway as if this helps them evaluate QBs.
  10. Firstly, Elway has sucked at evaluating QB talent so that is an awful point to try and make. Since Elway has been in Denver they have been one of the worst QB scouting teams in the entire NFL. Secondly, lots of teams passed on Tom Brady, Rodgers, Wilson, Mahomes, etc. Just because people passed on a guy doesn’t mean it was a great reason we should have. Even looking back to last season I’m sure if things continue to trend upwards for Herbert the Dolphins and the Bengals would wish they could go back and pick him over their current QB. Last, just because we passed on Fields on draft night does NOT mean he isn’t what some here thought of him. Believing because teams let him drop to 11 in the draft that he automatically isn’t the real deal before he takes a snap in the NFL is ridiculous.
  11. Okudah was better in college and played this year hurt. When Okudah was in college his last year he dominated across the board on every teams number one, got interceptions, sacks, and didn’t commit a single penalty which is insane for a corner. Horn held lots of guys to low yardage totals though so he has that going for him. But I believe part of that is everyone knowing you can abuse their #2 corners every play.
  12. We drafted the kid who played in 30 games in college and got an interception in just 1 of them. Solid.
  13. But wait! The bet was 10+ picks a part right? Fields can still drop!
  14. If we swapped pick 8 for Watson now I’d debate how much I really enjoy this team.
  15. I’m with you. Been on the Fields train for years. He’s been the 1B to Lawrence’s 1A for some time now. I’d hate to believe we overthink things and talk ourselves out of pairing Fields with Moore, Anderson, CMC, Moore and Joe Brady if he is on the board at 8. His game against Clemson is probably the best performance of any of these kids in the last few years in a single big stage game. He straight up took over after getting injured. He has the pedigree. He has the stats. He has the right attitude. From a character standpoint you aren’t going to find a better kid in the draft. And he accurately airs the ball out during real games. It’s everything we are looking for in a a QB. Giving Darnold competition, even giving Fields competition by having Darnold to compete against will only help us make the right decision at QB.
  16. Per Sports Illustrated the target the Saints are looking at is Sewell.
  17. Please no to Horn. How much better are his hands going to get as a pro? 30 games played, 2 INTs in one game. 29 games of no INTs gives me pause. That’s a ton of football where you would like a guy in the top ten at the position to be a bit of a ball hawk.
