If New England wants to move on from him they should look to swap him for Foles in Chicago. Cam can help groom Fields and Foles would be much better than Stidham or Hoyer to learn from in NE. Both teams win.

The last LSU first round QB before Joe Burrow was J. Russel. Arguably the biggest bust ever at the position. There hasn’t been any other great LSU QBs I can recall. But Burrow looks good. Oregon has produced a chunk of first round busts. Justin Herbert looks good. Tom Brady is the goat. Since him though Michigan QBs have sucked. Darnold could be bad or he could be good. If you ask me who I would rather have, Darnold or Fields I’d take Fields in a heartbeat. Darnold+Horn vs Fields? That’s a harder argument. If we are trying to defend our current QB by pointing out other QBs that suck… then maybe we don’t have a real QB. And I say that as a Darnold supporter. This probably wasn’t the best way to show we should have faith in Sam.

It’s always dependent on the contract he might draw. He’s had two down years in a row after being a stud for a long time.

Then they gave a true freshman an opportunity to catch passes and he was supremely better at it than Tremble so he became a backup backup backup plan catching the ball. As far as comps and being rated higher than Kittle? Lots of guys are misrated coming out of college. He will not be Kittle. He will not be as good as Kittle. Book that. That doesn’t mean he will be awful but thats the reason why he not only fell in the draft but also fell on the Notre Dame depth chart.

Tommy dropped more passes in college than TDs scored. That’s why he got moved down the priority list for targets. I don’t believe Kittle was in the same situation.

It was a 2 for 1 deal. They felt with Darnold + Horn they were better off than just Justin Fields.
