I agree with you my brother. We haven't faced elite offenses yet but we have done exactly what we needed to do to show we are improving over last year. Good teams handle teams like we have faced and don't get upset. We are winning the games we should expect to win. Looking forward to seeing more.

I kept saying last year he was doing a terrific job considering the talent we had. The guy has always been Rhule's meal ticket to success. Their defense has always been ahead of the offense.

I believe our philosophy as a team is to protect the second half leads. So we slow down our offense and are much more conservative. Early in the season we gain very little from keeping the foot on the gas pedal. I expect after week 4 or 5 for us to just go for the kill every game we can. Right now, Darnold is an enigma for the league and nobody knows what to expect. We are trying to take advantage of that for a few weeks. As teams adjust to that, for real, we will show more of the playbook.

Corey Davis had just under 1k yards last year. The difference between this defense and the last two years is we are getting to the QB much more often so far. That makes it much easier for the DBs to stay with their guys when plays are over in 4 seconds.

I agree. There was a lot to like. I think people were just giving him a pass on a few bad plays because they were excited we have a rookie corner, overall, playing well.

All good my brother. I just looked at it from him college production as a guy who didn’t take the QB down too much and he has shown flashes of it as a pro. If he can get just a bit better at it he’s going to be one of those DTs playing into his mid 30s.

I said this yesterday multiple times. The calls were fine, Darnold just missed some throws. He’ll make them as time goes on. We had the correct play called each trip into the red zone. That’s a plus. Darnold missed two throws and fumbled one exchange. If we correct those player mistakes then we bow that game wide open.

I believe 69 is actually a solid score according to PFF. I would guess outside of one solid play they penalized CMC for plays he was in on where he didn't get the ball? Maybe missed blocks? Without them telling us its hard to figure out but they supposedly grade every player on a per play basis no matter if they are in the action or not. Its not perfect.

He just has Youngs number. He stonewalled him in college too but got beat by lesser dudes.
