Truly a lot can change between now and then. There have been plenty of annointed ones in college football only to tumble the year they wanted to be drafted. Look at Howell for instance. Folks were talking about trading away drafts from prior years to make sure we had him lined up in two seasons to draft him. Then the story changed to the team around him got so poor he is having to do everything on his own. Then he got drafted way later than a first. He could still be a good pro and I think he flashed in preseason, but so much can change from year to year.

Correct because despite his elite stats he “took plays off”. So folks felt like he would phone it in after he got paid.

He’s a second year player so we would be able to draft him after the next college season.

26 of 33 which is 78.8% completions for 354 yards, 1 TD and 0 INT against a top 25 team on a day where his running backs made one play the whole game. And this, to you, is a game where he struggled. Maybe he’s under much more of a microscope than other prospects to you. I can’t see any other top tier prospect where folks would say their guy struggled with 350 yards, 1 TD and 0 INTs on roughly 80% completions against a top 25 team.

We have a 6th rounder. No reason we shouldn’t be able to grab him as a backup. We need the QB room filled out.

And even Young has had bad and meh games if folks wanted to judge off of a small portion of the season. Most years you don’t have a Burrow where he puts up megastats every week.

And his INT was on the final play of the game trying to throw a Mary to the end zone. This and the Utah game are what scouts salivate over and then think about how they can develop Richardson into being more consistent.

His team didn’t help him out but right now he has 3 INT and no TDs passing.

For sure. But he can get better and he has the actual physical tools to play at the next level. It’s why scouts are high on him. You aren’t drafting a guy to perform in college. You are drafting him because you think he can grow in the pros. Bennett right now is exactly what you get in the pros. Small frame, average arm, average wheels, elevated by talent around him and still not putting up any stats either.

Bennett has no chance in the pros. None. You might be able to develop Richardson. You aren’t going to do more for Bennett. Richardson against UGAs defense with minimal pass catching talent: 18 of 39 for 271 yards with 1 TD 0 INT. Bennett going against a poor Florida defense with all world talent at TE: 19 of 38 for 316 yards and 2 TDS and 2 INT. You might develop Richardson into something. You’re literally wasting a roster spot on Bennett.

I don’t think I missed anything on Parsons. However, I wouldn’t take McCall I the first or second.
