I would love to see him step up. I pick Shenault as the more likely to do that because he has shown good production when he was in JAX even as a rookie. TMJ just hasn’t been put in position to show that.

I expect Shenault with an offseason here under his belt to push to be the #2.

Year 1 I would put money on Stroud and Young being better than Darnold. Darnold was terrible in NY. Darnold hasn’t been “good” here. Honestly. We are happy we are winning but he hasn’t done anything that would make you want to give him a new contract next year.

If you ignore the charmin-soft run he did when he fell short of the sticks when a dude tapped him as “fine” then we have different definitions of “fine”.

Rookie TEs, and most rookie WRs don’t make major impacts. Jefferson and Chase are not the norm. And there are no Jefferson or Chase type prospects in this draft. We need to draft a QB. For folks who enjoyed the style of game we played today you could have put Anthony Richardson in there and expanded the run-game even more. If we can get a stud offensive coordinator, cool. But then that guy will be gone in a couple years if we are good. It’s why most folks want an offensive mind.

It’s this. If we are forced to play ball control smash mouth run game every week and throw for 130 yards a game we are in trouble. Best way to fix that is infuse the QB position with actual talent.

Fair enough. I just hated seeing the lack of effort there. And for a dude who I know wants to be elite, he can’t have lapses like that. And it sucks when it’s one of our top players. I know Wilks will give them hell for it.

The worry is you can’t keep winning like this long-term in a passing league. It’s fine if we get ahead but we haven’t shown we can pass the ball.

Of coarse I am! I root for us to win every week, and when we lose I make it ok in my head by switching to draft position stuff. I never root against us.

Garbage time isn’t an excuse. A pass came to the man he was covering and he bumped him, didn’t bring him down, and then didn’t hustle to go after him. No, this is not Horn’s norm. However, other players gave up on the play is no excuse for Horn to do it as well. Bad mindset. If it were 24 or 27 folks here would have ate them alive.

0 back to back winning seasons in our entire history. We are cursed. And both times we made it to the finish line we forgot to cross it.

For a team to be as old as we are and never have back to back winning seasons… there is some kind of curse here.

I’ll look more into what he’s doing once he’s got about four games under his belt and see if the league is figuring him out. We’ve seen a lot of dudes come in and look great for a few starts. But yeah, heck of a start.
