  1. Any franchise who would come out and say they have no interest in drafting QB at the #1 overall pick is lessening the value of their pick in a trade. Cmon.
  2. I absolutely loved the Dwarves. My favorite part of the show.
  3. For sure. And if Luck was in the same class as Cam we would have drafted Luck for sure.
  4. He was much better in year 2 than year 1 and I think he’s going to jump again for year 3. He ran out of necessity. The Bears talked about it this morning to the press. They love everything he’s doing and they know he’ll work to be better. They said “being honest we would have to be completely blown away” by a QB to take them at 1. Read between the lines, they are sold on him. It’s the rest of the team they need to improve around him. Even Bears players have talked about how they are excited going into next year because a lot of the league is looking for QB1 and they already have theirs. And no, none of the QBs in this class blow you away. There’s no Manning / Luck / Lawrence in this class.
  5. What makes you think that Maye will be available anywhere near where we pick? What makes you think any team in position to draft him will be willing to trade back with us? What makes you think nobody else could offer a better haul? Waiting multiple drafts for a specific guy usually doesn’t work out.
  6. It’s the year before that hurts. Missing out on Herbert by one pick.
  7. The Bengals loss and even the win vs the Saints to end the year. Can anyone claim that was good coaching? We looked worse in those two games than the 4 or 5 this year that Rhule coached. And thats the scary part of Wilks. The lows were actually lower than what Rhule did this year. And we acknowledge he was a bum.
  8. This was not Wilks rookie year. He went 3-13 in Arizona where he coached the team to a worse offense and defense than the year prior so they fired him after giving him a four year deal.
  9. I hear your argument but can you show me some examples of folks who took over on an interim basis and then coached the team better in year two?
  10. For folks that wanted Wilks to stay: This is the worst our division has been in a long time and we still couldn’t win it. He had the opportunity to by beating Tampa and he said… who is the best offensive pass catcher on the Bucs? Let’s single cover him over and over. And we lost. We got outcoached. Then, look at who we beat: Tampa when they were 3-3. Atlanta when they were 4-5. Denver when they were 3-7. Lions when they were 7-7. New Orleans when they were 7-9. Cmon. We played one quality opponent and they had us beat 35-0 at halftime. In this final week of the season Darnold threw for like 50 yards.
  11. Rhule was never an offensive guru of any sort. He had like 7 years of college coaching experience and he was top 50% defense like all but one year. He also had a top 25 defense like 3 or 4 times in those 7 years. He had a top 50 college offense once… Look at his tenure here. Never a top half of the league offense ( closest was when we fired Joe Brady and then got worse lol ) but we’ve had top half of the nfl defense a couple of his years here.
  12. Where did I write anything about late season moral victories? I wrote about just having one more loss.
  13. I’d rather have Justin Herbert over Derrick Brown. I’d rather have Penei Sewell over Jaycee Horn. And thats just one draft slot. But maybe that loss would have dropped us multiple slots which means we could have picked Waddle or Chase, for instance. The higher you pick the less people that are in front of you with a chance to take your guy. I would like to believe the outlook of our franchise would be tremendously different had we just gotten Herbert over Brown. And we scouted Herbert more than anyone. Herbert had a ton of question marks going into the draft. I feel he was our target and we weren’t aggressive enough in making sure we got him and it set us back.
  14. Matt Rhule was never an offensive minded head coach. Every place he has been he brought Phil Snow with him and they fixed the defense but they never had great offense. Matt Rhule has been a head coach for like 10 years and he has had an offense ranked in the top half of the NFL or College 1 time.
  15. I think outside of folks who want a feel good local hero story for Wilks, most folks agree they want an offensive minded coach. Wilks ain’t it.
  16. While I think that would do it I don’t know if the Bears would want to have to pay both Burns and Moore their contracts. I think in that scenario they would be hoping to get Payne and Hargraves still as well. That would add about 30+ sacks of productivity to their defensive line last year. And it’s a team that only had 20 sacks as a team. Worst in the NFL. I think that transforms the defense and they would still have about 60 million left to spend on other free agents. And they would still need one more offensive linemen. Their secondary is young and good. Sanborn played better for the Bears at LB this year than Smith did. This new dline would give them a major overhaul. Adding Moore allows Mooney to go back to being a #2 where he excels and Claypool can go dominate in the slot. Kmet has emerged as a good pass catching TE. Their offensive line would be a pass blocking question mark but at 9 they could get a top offensive lineman. Or they could draft Johnston and let Mooney walk after next season. But they have 60 million left or so and they would have the ability to add to pieces to an offensive line that has good young talent in Jones and Jenkins. They can upgrade at RT, C and LG in free agency or the draft. And don’t forget, despite the poo roster they were in almost every game. It’s got the makings of being a 2023 Jags. First pick to a playoff spot. I don’t think the Panthers want to part with DJ Moore or Brian Burns. And here is the scary part… if CJ Stroud doesn’t declare for the draft it’s going to make the Bears pick even more expensive because Bryce Young is the only top tier QB in the draft at that point.
  17. Florida fan here so you can accuse me of being a homer despite my take Trask shouldn’t have been drafted in the second round. I love Richardson, he’s a great kid, hard worker, will surprise folks in interviews and I think he’s better than his stats show. There’s plenty of folks here on this forum who have seen him play and watched how his WRs are trash and force him to try and play hero ball.
  18. Reminder Anthony Richardson went for 290 yards, 1 TD and 0 turnovers vs UGA. Levis went for 232, 1 TD and 1 INT. Hooker went for 212 yards, 0 TD and 1 INT. Duggan went for like 120 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT. Stroud cut Georgia up. 380+ yards, 4 TDS and 0 INT.
  19. Such a tossup. Harrison is a Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson level college WR with a good pedigree.
  20. Brother, Moore is absolutely not D Adams level of talent. And they have a stud at TE. And Hunter is better than our #2 WR. And Jacobs is better than any running back we have. No.
  21. Surprised he’s even playing and he took a hit on the ankle which is injured.
  22. Stet really only throws to TEs and Bowers is the best one. You make them beat you with their other guys. You don’t single cover their best weapon all game. They just showed up with a poo gameplan.
  23. Weird they don’t double him despite the game he’s having against them.
  24. Interested to see what he actually runs at the combine
