  1. I believe it’s actually just the first week it’s out. Recently, like a month or so ago, on Twitter one of the folks who made a Netflix show said something along the lines of “If it’s all the same to you please just let Netflix play the entire show the whole way through once and then go back and watch it as you can” because Netflix will cancel a show if it doesn’t get completion views during the first week it’s out. Madness.
  2. The other thing that makes this take ultra silly is thinking the Bears, who know they don’t have a good line, would move on from Fields to draft a kid who plays QB at 185 pounds with a small frame. He’d get killed behind that line.
  3. Wilks losses were even lower than Rhules losses. And Wilks could have won the job with late season wins. He didn’t. He can blame himself for how we closed out the season.
  4. Define “star” and where do you see it being pushed? He’s already better than anything we have trotted out on the field the last five years or so and he’s done it despite poo coaching and poor playmakers and no offensive line around him. And he’s shown flashes of being a major playmaker. They had a five week stretch averaging 30 offensive points a game. We haven’t had that kind of stretch since 2015 Cam. There’s a difference between thinking the kid is progressing and can be good vs thinking he’s some star. Not everything needs to be hate or love, 10 or 1, best or worse. There’s plenty of space in the middle. It’s weird to see this kind if take from a Levis fan.
  5. It’s just to drive up value if the #1 pick. The Bears aren’t trading Fields. Don’t fall for it.
  6. And to this: They can offer the #2 pick in the draft plus something else. If they are that desperate they could offer the #2 pick and their second rounder. Then the Bears at 2 flip the #2 pick to the Colts for their #4 and their second rounder. The Bears would then be picking at: 4 - Will Anderson or Jalen Carter who they would have taken at #1, paid them less money than at #1 and picked up two more high end second round picks. If Stroud, Young and Levis go 1-3, what would somebody be willing to give up for Richardson as the last of the top end QB prospects in this draft? What would somebody be willing to give up to move to 4 to get the best defensive player in the draft? If the Bears play free agency correctly they could be setting themselves up in a poor division to really push themselves to the top over the next year or two and have a ton of young talent coming in and still have a healthy cap situation.
  7. In this example we are trying to move up 8 spots to get to 1. The 49ers moved up 9 spots to go from 12 to 3 and they gave up three first round picks and a third for a QB who didn’t throw in high school and barely threw in college. And you think there would be less of a bidding war to move to #1 vs #3?
  8. I keep saying this but if we want to move up to 1 without absolutely giving up three first rounders we need to root for the Bears to win free agency. I think right now they have no desire to drop further than 5 or 6 without massive free agent moves. Their coach is a defense guy who is missing the two most important pieces of his defense: A DT and a De. Carter and Anderson are their ideal targets. However, the Bears have close to 100 million in cap space with no further changes to their roster. The Falcons are #2 with about 56 million in cap space. The Bears top Free Agent Targets would be: Javon Hargrave - DT Eclipsed 10 sacks from the DT spot last year. Would likely be closer to the 7.5 he had the year before but this is a massive upgrade to the Bears D-line and team as a whole. The Bears had the fewest amount of sacks in the NFL. They had 20. 7 of the Bears 20 sacks came from the DLine and one of those came from Quinn who they traded away. So getting Hargrave, even if he reverts to 7.5 sacks this year, gives them more sacks from DT than they had as a team across the entire line. The Eagles have a bunch of decisions to make around contracts and Hargrave who had one breakeout year may be a guy they have to let walk away. The Eagles had 70 sacks last year and might feel it’s ok to let him walk. Daron Payne - DT Had 11.5 sacks this past year and is very young. In a similar situation as Hargrave. He is much younger but Washington is already paying big money to two guys on their defensive line and they have the Chase Young contract coming up, too. Payne may have to be the casualty there and Washington would hope Payne put up his stats because of the guys around him. The Bears would be getting two players at the most difficult position to generate sacks from on defense that would have more sacks combined than their entire team had last season. This changes how long you are asking the young secondary to cover and it frees up the linebackers to do more damage. Basically, these two alone would help the Bears get closer to the 18 points a game they were giving up early on in the season which would keep them in every game. Yannic Ngakoue - DE He has never had less than 8 sacks in a season but is a liability in the run game. You hate to hear it but he’s something above a poor mans version of Brian Burns. But he also won’t require you to break the bank. The Bears are developing a young lad on the line as their other DE. This spends roughly 65 million of that 90 they have which puts them round 25 million left and would only have like 9 teams with more cap space left still. This completely revamps the line and affords you the luxury to still pick Carter or Anderson as a luxury or it allows you the luxury of just trading the #1 for the most amount of value and you would be more willing to drop further in this draft. This is really the only scenario where we don’t get baited into giving up three firsts and a couple seconds to move up to 1. If they Bears don’t get a free agency revamp on their dline there is no way they are willing to drop to 9 and miss out on Anderson and Carter.
  9. I agree. And why would folks be excited to go back to “smash mouth” football that has never produced back to back winning seasons here?
  10. Good hire. Not exciting but it’s good. I expect back to back winning seasons for the first time.
  11. Pair Burrow with Joe Brady after their magical run together? In a heartbeat. However, this absolutely would have saved Matt Rhules job. I’d prefer to win and I think Burrow is one of those guys where system doesn’t matter. He’s good. What would it have cost to move up one spot to get Herbert? That’s a better question and more reasonable.
  12. You have to understand CatsFan69 is like a parody or joke account. I wouldn’t take anything they write as serious.
  13. Chicago is absolutely not trading Fields away this off-season and they 100% aren’t drafting QB. I’d bet deleting my forum account vs anyone who believes otherwise.
  14. Same and she hated the “kiss“
  15. I don’t think second and third team NFL reps are as valuable as first. And Lance has either split reps or not gotten first team reps. So it’s hard to see him as much further ahead. Richardson has at least been throwing. Lance hasn’t. That’s my issue with Lance. And I wasn’t high on him coming out of college to begin with. And I really disliked ZWilson. He’s gotten most first team reps and has sucked. He’s about as close to a bust as you can be from the first rounders drafted that year. I need to see more Lance before I make that call on him.
  16. I’m not sure how far along Lance is in regards to AR. He’s in the NFL but he’s also been hurt and not getting reps. AR threw passes in high school, and in college and he’s started a full year at the highest level and against competition like Tennessee and Georgia and he played alongside much inferior talent with a first year head coach at the school running a new system. He’s at least playing against high level, live, folks in real games. Lance has basically not taken a full game of significant snaps in years. And Lance has looked meh while being bolstered by an uber talented team around him. Outstanding run game and real playmakers to catch pisses with DSam and GKit. I need to see AR on a pro team before I can judge how far behind or ahead of Lance or Love he is. Edit: This is also what we thought of Darnold. If he showed significant progress we can get a QB without breaking the bank and it didn’t work out.
  17. I personally think there’s a big gap between playing where Purdy was and where Lance was. But on top of that, no game time passes basically is my issue with Lance. He needs to reps. Even if he came here he’d be competing for them. So he’d still be behind.
  18. And this was something this forum, and I especially, brought up leading up to his draft. He simply plays lesser competition and that’s not his fault. His team is typically head and shoulders better than everyone they play and they have been for years. They are like the Bama of their conference. So he plays lesser competition and he didn’t throw the ball a lot in college. And he didn’t throw the ball a lot in high school. And then he had a season cut short. Then he rode the bench and got hurt and missed even more time in the NFL. It’s not his fault he was picked where he was picked. Blame the 49ers for that. But he needs reps and he’s in a situation he couldn’t outright beat out Jimmy for reps and going into year 3 for him it looks like he’ll be competing with Purdy for reps now. His timeline is getting destroyed because the team around him doesn’t need him but going into year 3 we still have no idea if he’s getting better or not. And I don’t believe he’s a bust just yet. But it’s at the point we just don’t know because we haven’t seen anything from him and I wouldn’t expect to next year either. It’s like Jordan Love. Nobody knows what he is and he is going into year 4.
  19. Pitts is a pass catcher. Mayer can block but he’s not the threat Pitts is catching the ball. Pitts wasn’t just potential he also put up the stats. He’s only the second rookie TE ever to cross 1k yards. It’s not his fault year two the offensive identity changed and he got hurt while playing with a set of awful QBs lol.
  20. Lance was a big fish in a little pond and his team absolutely dominates their division year in and year out. They’ve won a bunch of championships even before him. So it wasn’t like he needed to carry the team. Richardson had to carry Florida who played against actual good competition. The same competition that Levis struggle bussed against. That’s why I’m higher on Richardson than Lance. That being said, I don’t *want* Richardson or Lance. I want Stroud from this class.
  21. At this point I will wait for season 1 to finish and then play through both games.
  22. I try not to but Lagway has been a consistent wanting to be a Gator even before Napier and he’s going out of his way to recruit other kids in his class to come to Florida, too. It’s how we got the two WRs. He’s a good kid and without Rashada he has no true competition in front of him when he gets here. He’ll play early.
  23. Wasn’t worth the drama for the Gators when we have a better kid coming in next year who actually wants to be here in DJ Lagway. I never understood the Rashada flip.
