But see, that's the difference between Pep and Steve, not to say Pep wouldn't win in a street fight. Even listening to this interview in current day. Steve seems ready to take on, anybody, anywhere, at any time. Where Pep seemed like a gentle giant. The guys in that room were all solid hard nose defensive players, and basically almost cowered to Steve in that interview (no judgement there, who wants to fight when you're rich and mid 40s). He's just got some dark things that the typical man doesn't have inside and he talks about it a bit. But as someone said before...that's what made him 89 on that field.

Eh, hate to say it but I disagree here. A'Shawn trying telling him we can fight after the game shows where his head was at, and it wasn't in football. And if Ekwonu can get any tips from Dawkins who is a 4x Pro Bowler I'm all for it. Oh well, we live to fight another week. I truly hate to say it, but I agree. Dowdle is not signing back her next year, especially after how Canales and Co. have handled his hot hand. I don't believe we're going very far this year...so it's not a decision I want us to make but thinking ahead for the future, if we could get something for him it might be better for the future of the team. Unless there is another option where we restructure/trade Chuba which I'm guessing is unlikely. I want to emphasize, I'm a huge fan of his this season. But as an organization you have to look beyond that. (Also keep in mind we have 2nd round pick J. Brooks waiting in the wings, whatever that means to you.)

Ride the hot hand. The hot hand is Rico. I don't get what's so hard about that to Canales, but that's why I'm just a fan.

I had this exact conversation with my father earlier in the week. Canales had the easiest way out by just saying 'he'll be on a pitch count', and just see how things unfold. Instead we got this lopsided mess where Rico clearly has the hot hand for the year so far.

Not directed at the OP. But I absolutely love seeing the sentiment for Ron changing around here now that people are reminded what an actual incompetent staff looks like.

I was going to joke and have the Chiefs throw in 2 first rounders..... But as soon as the Mahomes/Bryce trade comes through we need to hit accept and have Mahomes on the very first flight out here; no negotiation needed lol.

I feel like for once every one of those guys held back. And I think there is a 5'9 100% attitude guy that they're almost hesitant to speak out against. This is the fact of the matter, it's sports. When you win, fans cheer. When you lose, fans boo. Especially consistently year after year with no end in sight. Instead of just talking about us being the Bible belt maybe talk about how we've never once in the franchise history had back to back winning seasons. We love the team, we loved and celebrated Cam and Steve, and even guys like Jake that we love not just because of talent but because of his spirit as the face of the team. But they all won. Fans pay a lot of money on gear, and on these overpriced tickets to go out and see a horrible product. I've slowed down on watching games because I realized I was spending 4 hours of my day getting annoyed watching a consistently bad product. Outside of a few hopeful games at the end of last year Panthers football hasn't even been enjoyable to watch. When I flip the channel to a Ravens/Eagles game it almost feels like I'm watching a different sport. I wouldn't just focus so much attention on the city, I'd ask based on the results are they justified.

Exactly my thinking. The only time it gets a little sticky is if it's a QB, and the inquiring team already has a franchise QB. We should always want to know what the market is for top tier players.

Was really hoping we could get that 4th, and I love all that Thielen has been for us. But bigger picture, and with the opportunity to package that 4th in another trade down the line I would've loved to make it happen. If he's sticking around I hope he kills it this year and keeps making an impact on the young guys.

Well speaking of his wife she just posted 40 minutes ago 'Big News' on her IG. So we'll see if he's traded or if they just renovated the living room lol

I'd do it; as long as the pick is right. I think a 4th and if we're lucky a future later round pick would be great. I love what Thielen brings, but we're pretty deep at WR now (and it's actual young talent with a lot of promise), I'd miss his veteran presence and reliability though for sure.
