  1. No, but he was the only one that had the balls and go out to the media and say he was playing not to get hurt. If you think that attitude doesn't affect the locker room, I don't know what to tell you. It isn't all his fault, but rewarding him telling the public he held back will solidify that culture. I don't care if he goes out somewhere else and has a HOF career, he won't do that here because our culture sucks and rewards being lazy. Ping Pong after having the worst record in the NFL needs to go, they need to get 100% new veterans. Imagine if the 2-14 Panthers in 2010 played ping pong in front of Steve Smith.
  2. It'd be such a Panthers move to trade the one guy in the locker room who actually seemed to give $hit.
  3. That's the entire point. Our culture sucks and nothing is pushing our players to be the best they can be. Our coaches should've pulled Burns ass out of the game the first time it was apparent he was holding back. If we pay Burns, we tell everyone in that locker room they can slack off on their contract year and get PAID.
  4. Even if you decide to pay him. It's stupid to give him the max contract when he has no bargaining power with the tag. He can sit out all day, but the team can also trade him with the tag, or they can make sure he isn't getting anywhere near the contract he wants until 2025 after teams spend their FA money. The team will probably screw it up like they did in 2016 with Josh Norman
  5. That's how you fix a 2-15 team... Pay big money for guys who contributed to the reason you went 2-15! Everyone here is seriously wanting to pay $30 Million for a guy who admitted to the media he was playing not to get hurt. It's not an issue of talent, the culture in this locker room sucks. The "Cornerstones" of this locker room need to be traded. The guy showing the most effort at the end of the season was retirement home Adam Thielen. Spend that $30 million and go get guys who have real playoff experience who can help this locker room. Edit:Is there any statistics that show people getting these max contracts (outside of QB) and it actually being worth what was paid? Every sport I've ever watched, 2-3 years in the team fanbases are always complaining about the contract.
  6. Most HCs who have experience got fired at some point.
  7. What do you want Tepper to do? They invited him to interview and Tepper has already shown (Matt Rhule) he is not afraid to open the checkbook to get the candidate he wants. Unless were competing with the Broncos, a HC would have to walk away from the highest big for us to not get a HC...
  8. If their name isn't Harbaugh or Belichick, then we need to hire someone who hasn't been a HC. I hated the Frank Reich hire because the idea of hiring someone who was fired mid-season the year before is ridiculous. Belichick wouldn't win here, but my hope is he could knock some sense into Tepper and get him out of the FO decisions.
  9. He'd trade the 2025 1st to get Marty Hurney back.
  10. Lets bring him back and be the only city who has 2 coaches that they fired and brought back.
  11. That's how you take care of your most dedicated fans who came and watched a 2-14 team! Put the police on your kids!
  12. I really don't want to quit and jump to another fanbase, but this has me pretty close... This isn't the same team anymore.
  13. Only the Panthers would make their rookie QB play injured in a lost season with an interim HC. I have a hard time laughing at it because it seems like it would happen. We already let our league MVP play meaningless games with a messed up shoulder in 16 lol.
  14. As much as everyone on this board hates Sam Darnold, he got all the years he did because 100% of his issue is mental. He has all of the physical attributes to be an NFL QB and sometimes for 2-3 games at a time has people second guessing him. He is in his own head and constantly panics and makes bad decisions, which keeps him from being a consistent QB. Bryce Young has none of the physical intangibles of a top 10 QB. He has not shown he can consistently throw a solid deep ball, he has no pocket awareness, his improvising skills are weak. Even if he gets his head in the game, it's still questionable whether he physically can handle playing in the NFL.
  15. We don't have the ability to rip it off, we have no 1st and it's a joke to believe we might get a QB at #33. It's funny how all those years the panthers cried about giving up a 2nd or 3rd to move up 3 spots to get a QB in the top 5, but they were ready to trade the house for a high risk prospect.
  16. They literally sold Adam Thielen on coming here by convincing him we could contend for a Super Bowl. This franchise has made EVERY MOVE on trying to win next year since Tepper bought this team. They just tried to trade the farm in 2022 to get Deshaun Watson, they refused to trade Brian Burns for a huge haul of picks, they've passed on drafting QBs every year until now. Their actions correlate their words, they were trying to win, that's how bad this front office sucks.
  17. Honestly what this franchise needs is Bill Belichick. Were not winning, we need someone in the room that will tell Tepper he's an idiot. Belichick is likely the only man in football Tepper might shut up and listen to (whether he's right or wrong). It's laughable people on this board would not want him over whatever Tepper chooses.
  18. But that was the thing, he was declared #1 before they even put the jerseys on in TC. I've never seen a rookie QB win the job in OTAs. They made Cam Newton beat out Pickles.
  19. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/08/31/panthers-scott-fitterer-nfc-south-within-reach/
  20. Hit enter on accident lol. Main thing is there was no reason to get Bryce killed if he couldn't beat Dalton in TC.
  21. Can someone explain to me why from day 1 Bryce went into TC the starter? They had him making freaking adjustments at the line and didn't even make him beat Dalton (who proved against Seattle he was at least a top tier backup). We even had a ridiculous shot to get within 1 game of the NFC south after we played Houston (where Reich knew he was on the hot seat) and Dalton was never given a chance. I'm not saying Dalton>Young... The main thing
  22. I'm sitting here worrying that Packers game might have us stuck with Fitt. These games are awful, but I see Tepper falling for the narrative of (he showed us what he can do against GB!).
