I could see Tepper moving the team.
IndyPanther replied to Brent Gregory's topic in Carolina Panthers
Y'all's breakdown of MSAs and populations and whatever else is completely irrelevant. The only thing that will determine if the Panthers stay is if the city or state or county or whatever gives him money to heavily renovate or build a new stadium. If they do, the Panthers will stay. If they don't, they will be gone. I would guess that they will give it to him but if the team stays on this course, who knows? I would welcome a move as it would give me a great excuse to jump this sinking ship. -
Frank Reich Fired as Panthers HC - Official

If you think Cam has ever once in his entire life played as badly as Young has this year, I don't even believe you have the use of sight. -
Is NFL+ using a dirty tactic to increase memberships?
IndyPanther replied to Green-Ghost's topic in NFL
This is a completely asinine take. Literally billions of dollars are spent every year on video advertising. This includes practically all of the NFL's revenue, which is primarily on network TV with no subscriptions. To say it has no value to the companies is completely wrong and is disagreed upon by practically every industry. If you want to make this argument for stadium names, I would agree. It's all about message though. Just putting your name on something is not allowing you to control your message at all so it is next to worthless. A video commercial is the complete opposite though. -
Wrong. 19th in yards and 19th in TDs. Unless you're not counting rushing, which would be strange as rushing yards and touchdowns count for exactly the same as passing yards and touchdowns. Yards and TDs are also nonsense stats that eliminate many, many factors. He was on the least talented offense in the league and still led them to a .500 record and gave top half of the league play. Their offensive talent was definitely no better than the 2023 Panthers or Patriots, both of whom have performed infinitely worse led by actual bad QBs in Bryce Young and Mac Jones. He played 2 games from start to finish in 2021. You can't get anything from that at all.

15 year season ticket holder... I won't be renewing

True, this makes anything Panthers fans do matter even less than it already did to Tepper. -

Profit = revenue - expenses Player salaries = expenses They make enough to cover their expenses (including salaries) and make some profit. The profit just happens to be an amount that is literally analogous to pennies to a billionaire. That isn't the case with many owners in the league who have little business interest outside their team. But for any new owners who are billionaires such as Tepper, the $30 million or so he makes a year off the Panthers to him is like a pocketful of change to us. It literally means nothing to him and he likely wouldn't even notice if it was gone. -
He was a top 15 QB in his last full season. So I guess he made it work.

Have you seen how hard the team has been advertising the PSLs this year? No corporation or ticket broker is buying them. It would be a laughably bad investment. First of all, PSLs are much cheaper on the secondary market. Secondly, for 9/10 games a year, you aren't even getting face value back on the secondary market. I would bet the number of people who have bought PSLs from the team this season is less than 20. Also, people misunderstand how NFL teams make their money. They don't make their money from tickets, merchandise, or TV revenue. They make 99.9% of their money on the increase in valuation of the team. The Panthers were bought for $2B in 2018. An NFL team makes less than $50M in profit every year. $50M is like pocket change to David Tepper. He bought the team because he thinks he can sell it for $6B or more whenever he sells it. Not to make spare change every year. So practically anything fans do/don't do will have no affect on his bottom line. Look at the Hornets. They lost money or broke even every year of Michael Jordan's ownership and he still turned a $300M investment into $1B. It's a combination of the two. -
Post your Future Sunday Plans Here

Not watching football. I had been watching the Panthers and the other games every week depsite us being terrible. What did it for me was the news today that Cam hasn't even had a call about playing in 2 years. If the owners/GMs don't care about bringing in the best players for their team why on Earth should I care who wins the games? -
This news just came out today that Cam hasn't gotten a call in 2 years from an NFL team. https://clutchpoints.com/nfl-news-cam-newton-wants-play-no-team-has-called-two-years I honestly have no interest in caring about the NFL after hearing this. It illegitimizes the league. If Cam ever takes another snap, I'll be there watching. Otherwise, I likely won't watch another NFL game.

All in all the offensive cast is actually pretty similar, so it's pretty fair to compare them. We see how that comparison has gone so far. And during the pregame of the TNF Bears game, a reporter mentioned that they talked to team management who also said they thought Young would look better in Houston. Just delusional.

I guess you just have to look at it as an additional cost to buying tickets. If you bought them in 1995 for $2k, that's about $60/year if they stay in the stadium 30 years. That's part of the reason they're so inexpensive now too. -
With how difficult it is to separate WR from QB in terms of production, I think you pretty much have to go on draft position for the two rookies. Mingo was a second round pick and Dell was a third so I think you have to give it to Mingo coming into the season. I'll give you TE but it's not as if it's a landslide. All in all, I think coming into the season, they were relatively similar in talent across the board. If anything, Houston was seen as the death pit no one wanted to go to, so it's mind-boggling to see Bryce defenders (including the Panthers management) try to put Stroud's success on environment.

Yes, the PSLs are for the life of the stadium. You are out their value when they leave the stadium. If they build a new stadium, they will likely repeat the process of selling new PSLs to (partially) fund that stadium. -
I don't think you're finding anyone in the league who takes Robert Woods and Nico Collins over Adam Thielen and DJ Chark coming into the season.

It's actually kind of interesting see the market dynamics play out here. Right now, PSLs are dirt cheap on the secondary market because so many people are trying to get out, while so few are trying to get in. If the downward trend continues, this will only get worse. Eventually the supply will so exceed the demand that hardly anyone will be able to sell their PSLs and they will all go back to the team. It'll be interesting to see what the team does at that point. Do they keep trying to sell them at absurdly above market prices like they have been? Or do they lower their prices to the market value (practically nothing) to actually be able to sell tickets? If the team doesn't lower the prices of the PSLs they are selling... boy, are we gonna see some empty stadiums. -

At the rate he's "improving", he will be an average NFL QB in 2026. We got shutout after the first two drives against Miami, in his best game. He took what the defense gave him the first two drives and then when they adjusted, couldn't do anything. The only reason he's shown improvement is because he played so unconscionably bad the first couple of games. Even at his best, he's been a bottom 5 QB. Tom Brady is the only outlier as an athletically limited QB who has succeeded in the NFL without top-tier talent around him. It has literally never happened in any other circumstance. I will say it again. He's a game manager IF he really has turned the corner.
-
His entire progress has been going from multiple turnovers a game to not. He hasn't shown anything to be impressed by in any of the games. I'd love for him to turn into an MVP QB. But he does not have the arm talent to do so, as has been shown in these 5 games and his entire college career. And we'd be better off moving on than having a game manager.
-
All of this could have been addressed had we not given up so much to get to #1. And because of what we gave up, it will likely never be addressed while Young is here. I'm not worried at all about Bryce's mistakes and turnovers. He's a rookie and I'm sure he will turn it around. What I am worried about is the fact that he hasn't made one impressive throw and can't throw downfield literally at all. His arm talent was a major question mark going in and he's done absolutely nothing to show that was wrong. He screams game manager to me. He will fix the mistakes and we'll be stuck on the fence for years with a Mac Jones / Kenny Pickett type guy who doesn't seem bad enough to move on from but will never be good enough to win with. Exactly why you don't make the safe pick when you're picking a QB in the 1st round. Even worse when you give up the haul we did to do it. We'd honestly be better off if he kept turning the ball over 3 times a game again so we can move on sooner.

I'm new here today. Is there a story behind the "poo" thing? I feel like I haven't seen anyone use the word this way anywhere before. And then today I've read it here like 100 times.
