I don’t have team specific info but if I had to guess we’re talking about our old friends Marty and Ron here. I am guessing what is being discussed is trading WFT #39 and 222 for picks 51 and 74. We slide down a bit in the second but get back to back third rounders at 73 and 74. We could then pair those to move back up again or stand pat and get three guys we want. At this point that is my best guess. There is still a lot of things that have to land just right. Plus it could be another team.

Fwiw it sounds like the plan is to trade back in the second, pick up an extra late 2nd or early third, and look at Little, Mills, a WR or DI with those three picks.

Just heard from a source that the Panthers have made some calls about acquiring an additional second round pick, or an extra early 3, depending on how the chips start falling. Rumor has it that we’d like to double dip for Stanford’s Walker Little and Davis Mills. If one or both don’t work out we’re expected to go OL and WR next.

Top 8 is pretty close to mine. I had New England trading up to 4 for Fields, DeVonta Smith going to Miami (although I agree that Pitts is more likely the pick,) and the Lions staying put and taking Sewell. I’m pretty sure 1-3 are set in stone at this point.

I’m 99% sure Jones is the 9ers guy and have been since they traded up. I’m also almost 99% sure my picks 1-5 are damned close to how it happens, the only doubt being New England taking Fields or Lance.

Ask yourself how much we used any TE last year. Now remind yourself we just signed a capable TE this offseason. Now picture the amount of holes we still have at other positions that we actually value. The Pitts/Panthers reports are a hell of a lot of hype/smoke. That said. I wouldn’t be upset with that pick. I just think it is less likely that he’s there or that we’ll pick him over other positions if he is. I almost had him going to Miami. That could still happen and we’re not even debating this.

I really don’t think we’ll value TE that highly but I may be wrong. I think Slater or Lance would both be higher on the Panthers’ board.

The well has dried up imho. None of the rookies are guaranteed to even have the talent level of Stafford. Have we been mentioned seriously talking about anyone other than Watson? I don’t think we have.

Maybe so but we’ll see. Still a lot of desperate teams out there wanting a QB. Don’t see that changing much anytime before the draft. Might want to pull the stick out of your ass btw. This angry Captain Obvious shtick isn’t a good look.

Might be him or nothing in the first round for QB then. Looking more and more like Lance and Fields might be gone by 8 and we ain’t gonna trade up for either of them. Right now, best case scenarios are one slides, we trade for a known commodity QB during the draft, we roll with someone like Alex Smith or Mariota until the Watson situation shakes out, or another QB becomes available. Rolling with TB at this point is worst case scenario imho. Time to move on or, at the very least, make him ride the pine until he makes some serious changes and earns it back.
