  1. I could see us moving Marshall if Rhule isn’t high on him. Good chance that was a Brady pick, so if they think they could package him and a 4th or 5th that could get us into the 2nd round
  2. LB, DE? Those are also huge holes. I’m not saying they’re necessarily as glaring as LT and QB are right now, but if we don’t address them I guarantee you’ll be cussing at your TV this fall when we can’t get off the field on 3rd down.
  3. I agree it’s a weird way to frame it, but if you’re digging into contract value of 1st vs 2nd/3rd rounders + the value you get from trading back to get multiple guys in that 2nd/3rd tier, then I think that’s pretty functional actually
  4. Baker to the Giants? Those FOs have worked together on big trades before…
  5. Trade back to early teens and take Penning then either Howell or one of Leo Chenal/Quay Walker in the 2nd
  6. I like Mike Rose. Would be happy to see him in a Panthers uniform
  7. Totally agree. I would definitely take him in the 6th or 7th, even if we did take a QB earlier
  8. I like Kelley as much as the next guy but I’m not sure I’d say he’s more accurate. I do like his percentages but a lot of that is scheme/game situations. Still anything above 70% is
  9. Agree with this. Especially if we picked up a pick next year in the process. Stock the cupboard for the next HC if Rhule doesn’t get it together.
  10. We could possibly get one 5th. That’s what Dallas got for a better receiver in Amari Cooper on a similar contract. More likely we get a 6th or swap Robby and 199 for a 5th (worth it imo).
  11. Think I heard some buzz about them liking JJ2 over KT on a podcast on Monday. Can’t remember which one. But if Houston or Detroit go CB I bet they grab Sauce/Stingley - whichever doesn’t go first. It really is crazy because you could have 2 of Ickey/Neal/KT/Walker/Hutchinson there at 6. It’s so unknown at the top. I also don’t necessarily think Jacksonville signing Robinson to a multi-year deal precludes them from taking Ickey first if they think they can get a stud DE at 33.
  12. It depends on if they’re really trying to come away from this draft with a starting LT imo. If not, if they’re looking at pass rusher and a QB prospect, we could move back as far as even GB or KC and come away with good value at those picks while getting contributors (starters) this year and also getting a 2023 asset or two. If Rodgers pounds on the table for any of the top 4 WRs (probably not Williams), I think GB has to trade up. Not even Olave is guaranteed to be there at 22.
  13. Here’s one where we trade 6 for Baltimore’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, which might be a long shot but isn’t out of the question given all their 4th rounders
  14. That’s interesting but doesn’t the extension for DJ make him harder to trade or something? I thought I had read that somewhere…
  15. I don’t think that point gets made enough around here. Sam’s anticipation on timing routes wasn’t good, but it probably didn’t matter after we beat Houston. Everyone knew our route tree as well as we did.
  16. If we’re taking a DE at 6 (or in the First round, at all) I would rather have Jermaine Johnson to pair with Burns. Complimentary skill set to Burns and Johnson’s rep benefited from interviews, unlike Thibodeaux’s.
  17. FWIW, Brugler says in the description of the 6th pick that he’s not sold the Panthers are taking a QB: 6. Carolina Panthers: Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh There is zero consensus around the league on where the run on quarterbacks will start, so it is tough to feel confident about this projection. There’s a decent chance I won’t have a quarterback here in my final mock draft, but the Panthers haven’t been coy about their interest in the quarterback prospects in this class
  18. Yeah but Borrego has been bad. I don’t want to see it reach Rhule Derangement Syndrome levels, but worth calling out.
  19. So then we agree that the optimum strategy is to trade back and take a LT and a QB if the cards fall right? Otherwise BPA?
  20. Okay but you’re implying that if you like a guy you should take him at your spot even if that’s bad value. I’m saying smart teams don’t do that, even with guys who have MVP ceilings. None of these QBs appear to have that kind of ceiling, so it would be bad use of draft capital to take that approach
  21. You mean like how the Ravens traded back up to pick 32 to take Lamar Jackson when they could have just taken him at 25 instead of Hayden Hurst? Hayden Hurst was considered the “safer” pick and the Ravens felt like they didn’t need to gamble on Jackson that early (which is kind of hilarious in retrospect). The fact is a lot of these guys are impressive interviews and (re: the Herbert side convo) are not always optimally used in their college schemes. That gives NFL coaches and GMs plenty of imagination to project what they could be. That’s why some guys like Fitterer like to have more bites at the apple, to hedge against some of the bad bets and diversify, so to speak. And then sometimes guys like Belichick and Les “F Them Picks” Snead push that even further and forego that risk by trading out of their picks altogether in exchange for known quantities.
  22. Am I misremembering or are their fewer players this year but deeper background profiles?
