  1. Still want Slowik!? I kid I kid. Ravens D playing nasty.
  2. FWIW most of us Texans fans think he is as good as gone. I was a Houston oiler fan and I've been a Texans fan since their inception and in my entire football watching career : ) I don't think the Oilers/Texans had a play caller that could actually adjust the game plan based on matchups as well as Slowik and I'd rank him over Gary Kubiak who was a damn good game planner. I think he would be a slam dunk hire but as y'all know if your owner and the GM are going to neuter him it doesn't matter who y'all hire. Im a bit surprised Mike Vrabel isn't getting more run- I think the titans made a mistake with that one.
  3. Texans fan here and I was at that game. I don’t have time to look it up but I believe after that game CJ kind of called Slowik out about conservative play calling and Slowik started to open it up a bit more after that game. on the flip side the six Texans sacks aside I felt Bryce showed off play ability, made some crucial throws, even if the panthers only scored 15 points.
  4. Texans fan chiming in to give my non expert opinion. I think Slowik is one year removed but if he is "the guy" you just have to deal with the bumps and bruises the first year or two and roll the dice. I have learned that there is so much information we aren't privy to and so although it's fun to play armchair qb, we don't sit in meetings, we don't see players practice, we aren't there game planning. Winning cures all as they say but many a Texans fan has complained about his play calling the entire year until this last game which seemed to be our most complete game maybe in the history of our team. I think he could benefit from another year of managing just one side of the ball and not having to worry about the team in its entirety. Personally I would hate to lose the continuity we have finally built but I'd be curious to see what he can do with Bryce.
  5. Happened to the Texans earlier this year and ironically last week when we played Cleveland, we had to use a backup RB and I have no clue who the browns used.
  6. Texans fan here living in NC. Really need the panthers to win today! If the panthers play like the second half last week I believe it’s possible.
  7. Bryce looked good today. I thought there was one full second left on the spike. Officiating hasn’t been good this year. Let’s see if BY can build on this performance down the stretch.
  8. That wasn’t the prettiest of games but congrats on the win. Quick thoughts… Bryce isn’t the problem. He makes some very heady throws. Love his elusiveness and how he can make plays off script. Panthers just need to build around him. I feel now that there’s some tape on Stroud his struggling a bit. He is missing throws and has been in the last few weeks. Generally happens to all rookies. It will be interesting to see how he adjusts because the offense today was putrid. Yes the Panthers d had a lot to do with that.
  9. Who the heck ever knows but there was lots of speculation we would have just gone with Will Anderson if Bryce wasn't there. Last minute Hannah McNair got involved, the brother of Cal McNair who has done a pretty terrible job with the franchise, and pushed (told?) the FO to draft Stroud. Obviously we ended up with both guys. I'm still a bit shell shocked from the Astros losing 4 home games in the alcs so it's clouding my vision for Sunday! I'm expecting a good game.
  10. I think I've introduced myself a few times but I'm a native Texans now living in North Carolina. Headed to the game with my fam on Sunday! Despite the records I think we are pretty evenly matched. Bryce should definitely be able to pass on our Defense as they are more a "bend but don't break" defense. They aren't going to overwhelm anyone. Live in NC for a few years now and this will only be the second time we've been to Charlotte. Any good spots to eat at around the stadium? And win or lose I'm not here to talk mess. Texans are my team but I enjoy cheering the panthers on when we aren't playing each other.
  11. It’s all good. I’ll be the first to admit that my allegiances lie with Houston teams but we have moved around A LOT and a curious thing happened living outside of Texas. I actually became more objective watching sports and I actually enjoy the game way more. watching BY I think he’s going to be just fine. It’s fun to argue the what if of things but for better or worse the panthers have hitched their wagon to Bryce for at least the next two years. it’ll be fun to see how him and Stroud development. Im excited because the Texans best QB was Matt Schaub! The whole Deshaun situation got weird real fast I think I’m just getting over that whole mess.
  12. This is a great assessment. I didn’t want to come in challenging others as first, I’m new here and second I enjoy productive discussions not just fighting without actual substance. You don’t want any QB throwing 40-50 times a game much less a rookie QB. Stroud isn’t just a game manager right now and yes he’s definitely making rookie mistakes. It’s much different for a Texans fan vs a Panthers because we never had a chance to draft BY and y’all could’ve taken whoever so there will always be that “what if?”
  13. I know I’m not a true Panthers fan but given I live here and have friends who are diehards it really was best case scenario for me as I wanted the Texans to draft BY. I don’t think the game looks to big to him. I think he will settle in and be a solid dude. Hard to justify the price tag but if he’s under center for 10 plus years it’s worth it. My allegiance is to Houston Sports (Texans, Astros, Rockets) & Longhorns for college but it’s nice I can root for the Panthers and Texans to meet in the SB HAHA.
  14. Yesterday was the first game our run game looked like something resembling something other than hot garbage. And truthfully Pierce didn’t have a good game at all, 13 rushes for a whopping 34 yards. Devin singletary had his most carries of the season 12/58 yards. To keep it in perspective the previous week he had zero carries. Obviously they have acknowledged our rush attack is horrific.
