I'd rather let Burns slam than pay him $30M per but with the bump in cap I'd tag and trade him.
Best hope..tag 21M....let him rot on a shtyy team which is his worst nightmare...he wants to play games...so. We're not going anywhere in 2 years...

Chiefs have bad facilities, arrowhead is old, and the owner is cheap with hotels/accomidations/etc. Part of the reason why players aren't really pining to play there and have no qualms leaving. Although most players in free agency just choose whoever is paying them the most. That's why "player X isn't coming to this dumpster fire (Panthers), he wants to play for a winning team" isn't a thing in the NFL. Players just want money and quality of life
who cares....Superbowls.....

I do too. I was rather underwhelmed by the hire. I'm not reading much into anything Dan or Dave Canales are saying at the combine or the upcoming draft at this point. Been there done that buying into fluff and hype. The Panthers social media has bamboozled us time and time again. Talk is cheap. I'm all about that action. Show me results.
Yup... been having the Mary Poppins attitude for the last 6 years... Sht don't start happinin ima act a hard fool... more than usual.

Ever since Cam...I'm intrigued by running qb's...they just add a hell of a wrinkle in the offence. Not sure can handle the abuse Cam took but you have to account for them....BUT!...being a buckeye fan...im not big on their qb's...but Stroud has proven me wrong...but hes still only 1 outta the last 50 years thats been worth it..

We’ll find out but the negative spin is that Morgan was installed to placate fans as a former beloved Panther and to ensure Young would get more time like Fitt and Tepper wanted. Kind of like we’ll continue the plan but Fitt has to take one for the team.
Funny because it doesn’t matter which is true, as long we can draft well. Heck, it doesn’t matter if Morgan was overruled by bad Fitt if we can’t draft well. This isn’t the Bad News Bears movie. If we don’t improve the talent by a lot, we aren’t magically winning anything regardless if Morgan wanted Stroud, Tank Dell and was all for trading Burns to the Rams.
We are at rock bottom talent wise... only direction is up. He can't possibly fix it 2 years... I figure if he stands up to Dipper he'll be gone in a year and a half and we'll still be stuck with the same problem. Morgan has been around the block and knows football. We can only wait and see how he does.... but if Dipper is leaning on him we'll know because we've experienced his BS for 6 long hard incompetent years.

Morgan has all the makings of a great story if he can pull it off. I pray none of the scum from Fitt will influence him. Not sure what Fitts plan was but he was astonishingly terrible in retrospect.

There's zero chance it'll happen but yeah I'd definitely do it. There's just a lot more upside with Howell than Bryce IMO.
Yup...We are going to eventually have eat it on Bryce... but there are naysayers.... i'll leave that little window open that i'm wrong...

With zero hesitation. You can address turnover issues from a QB pressing too hard on a bad team with an atrocious defense and an OC that puts the burden of the entire offense on a second year player first year starter. You can't fix lack of NFL talent.
...I know you're getting a woody for the possibility .... and...I can't hardly blame you.

Just read on PFT the Vikings might trade Justin Jefferson, who’s due a new contract. I’d trade them Burns and #33 in a heartbeat for one of, if not the, best young receiver in the game. Think it might take more from us? How much would you guys be willing to trade? We’d be swapping a big new DE contract for a big new WR contract. ~28mil for Burns vs what, ~25mil for Jefferson? I’m less up to date on what he might cost cap wise.
....Fitt already left the building....

Some of yall need to learn the difference between 2-15 and 7-10....this team needs literally 7 or 8 upgrades to make the Playoffs at all...2-3 stars to make a real run. Draft picks are the most valuable commodity we have right now....we got into this mess because we didn't treat them like that...now you wanna give em away to rent a guy for 2-3 years. You know he wouldn't sign a long term deal here.
Yea...Look at KC...they have 20m to spend and have all their picks...its how you build.

Trade for him and sign Kirk Cousins
He'd be the only one that could get him the ball...

He's been terrible the last couple of years. They moved him to RT in large part because he'd fallen off so bad at LT. It didn't help. Not sure what happened to him because he showed promise as a rookie and looked like he was gonna bea stud his second year then his play just cratered. I don't know if it was injuries or what. I mean, maybe he'd be worth a kick of the tires but I'd run far away from investing serious guarantees into him.
Sounds like we already have one of him...

The Panthers really only have 2 choices now. Sign him to a long term contract that would be appealing to another team to take off their hands for draft compensation. That's is they are smart enough to pull that off. But my fear is they want to keep him. Which is another issue within itself.
Or they let him walk. Which is what other teams are waiting for and most likely Burns himself. This would be my preferred option as well.
Be nice if we can get something for him....i'm not opposed to the tag for whatever 22m....we have to quit giving away players at some point... but I understand about your preferred option. Fitt was astonishingly horrible...you couldn't produce his results even if you never watched an NFL game.
-
Burns is a malcontent and hes always going to have an excuse...hes shown that...Im ok moving on from him with zero compensation...ideally get something for him on the tag and trade....what are we going to miss...his six sacks a season...his disappearance on pass plays when the secondary is getting picked clean... more I think about it...the more i want his azz gone.

It definitely makes it easier for us to take the risk of tagging him. With the cap going up this much there's no way I just let him walk. Tag him and keep negotiating and/or try to work out a trade deal. But the extra wiggle room definitely means at least tagging him IMO.
Totally...

I'm NOT overpaying for Burns and his diva attitude.... I'll buy 2 for 10m apiece at edge...because they may not be playing to not to get hurt... Burns is on my sht list...
