What part of selecting Reich in the first place was ego?
Reich had several positive aspects in his corner:
- Winning Record as an NFL HC, with nothing but turnover at QB in IND ....Had Andrew Luck for most of it
- A SB ring within the past 5-7 years as an OC with PHI All Doug Penderson...Frank managed the water boys.
- Extensive Coaching / Playing experience ... Shame on him for thinking Bryce was going to translate to the NFL.. Which makes it the right move to fire his ass....
- Had the ties to put together a good staff -- Thomas Brown was lauded in the media as an up and comer, Evero was getting HC interviews, Caldwell, and also Capers as respected advisors. Capers just worried about dying his hair...looks like Ernest Angley.. Caldwell and Capers are fossils who took free money...And Frank set them up...

Meathead thought he could fast track it again without giving it any thought...thats ego...

And McAfee's final comment is correct: Tepper still has to make the right choice.
Which we know he can't do because of his ego....

Tepper said he chimed in once the decision was already made. He clearly wanted Young but Fitt, Brown, and others (probably Caldwell) had already voted him as the choice. With that said I'm sure Tepper made comments after the Pro Day visits and who knows who that swayed.
Can't believe any of the coaching staff, talent evaluators and owner thought bryce could lead us to the promise land.... Anyone in football with any credibility would veto this decision... simple analytics, which dipper is so fond of throwing around, will tell you 5'10" QB's don't make it in the NFL...Flutie was the best...and had mediocre winning seasons. Nothing is changing folks... hope I'm wrong. Guess dipper likes Scott massaging his nuts...

Charlotte is one of the biggest markets in the country. He's not moving them.
As we've seen hes not the smartest guy in the football room but he knows money...which is all this is about... I could see him pulling an Art Modell... luck up on a GM and win a SB somewhere else...

I think you can find a player to give you similar production but at much lower cost. If a team offered me a #1 for Brown in the offseason I take that deal in a heart beat .
...we have to quit trading our talent away and getting a low cost option that doesn't pan out... Fitts been doing this his entire tenure here and as you can see it never works out. We just get progressively worse...

Your aren’t an NFL talent evaluator. Like I said you can think Bryce is or isn’t the guy, but the implication that Bryce was just some 4th round reach is silly. He was basically a top 1-2 QB around the league and in the industry.
ok...tell me where he ends up...hes a.j McCarron or Blake Sims...Jake Coker... you have to see thru the propaganda and make your own mind up eventually...

What’s the revisionist history here? You can not like Bryce, but he was a consensus top QB.
whatever you want to paint.... look at his stature and stance.... maybe a Mel Keiper consensus....never mine.

1 theory: He will be fired on Black Monday and the new coach, Harbaugh, will be given dual roles. I doubt that happens, but it could be a possibility depending on the candidate.
that would certainly extend the poo show...so, its prolly on the docket...

Tepper- "Listen here Scot, matt rhule is the boss, do as he says."
Fitt- "ok...i mean yes'
Tepper- "Fired Matt Rhule, Im the CEO boss now. I demand trading to the #1 and after din-din we are drafting Byce Young"
Fitt- "yes"
I nearly think it's a lock that fitt is just teppers #1 yes man.
Only way you could keep this guy around....any of the 31 teams in the league woulda jettison his azz two years in maybe sooner.. Its like Fitt had aspirations of being a brain surgeon but ended up a stir cook...

No one thought Houston was a better team before the draft, after the draft, and all the way to the regular season. What if Stroud is elevating players who in the past haven't been anything more than mediocre.
QB's matter....this is what dipper thought we had...lol

true, I stand corrected.... but the bulk of his wins were under Rivers and Luck... 2 qbs that force wins that really arent due to coaching...
