He didn't even play WR in half the games so that doesn't make sense. He uses his chest to catch everything. Go watch Shermans pick against us. Philly is fading away to the ground preparing to chest the ball with his chest instead of using his hands to fight for the ball. I'm not saying little Philly Brown should have caught that ball like maybe Kelvin would have but he should have at least gave Sherman a battle for the ball and maybe it would haven't have been picked off. He was just the fastest WR we had. Ginn is faster and uses his hands and was much better than Philly when he was a Panther. We can certainly find 5 WRs better than Philly.

You're going to get a bunch of crap for not including Philly Brown. I agree with you though, because he really is nothing special. Good speed not great and he always lets the ball fall into his chest. He's not a bad player but we can certainly find 5 WR's better than him and since he can't catch punts he really doesn't have much use on special teams.

It's best player available within reason. On defense I think we'd take the best player available regardless off his position since most defense guys rotate and can contribute on special teams. Obviously we wouldn't take a QB since he'd never touch the field

What if we traded out of the first round and got a early second rounder and then took Gurley? I'd be okay with that especially if we got another second rounder next year out of it

Agreed. I think a lot of us are just trying to talk ourselves into liking him. He really is nothing special. Bad in coverage and average tackler. Nothing at all like Mike Mitchell who was a much better tackler and had way more recovery speed in coverage. Mitchell also brought swagger with his game that we wont get with Coleman. He can be a backup and special teams player but certainly isn't going to be as good as Mitchell.

Don't think CB is too big of a concern although it would be nice to add another good one. I'd be interested to hear what the rest of you think but I'd rather have Landon Collins at SS than Trae Waynes at CB. Would love either of them even though I doubt they will be available at 25.

Would love to have Patterson. I know he had a down year but when he gets the ball he makes plays.

Deangelo didn't do anything wrong and didn't bash the Panthers in anyway. He isn't even mad the panthers released him. Basically just said he's shocked he didn't receive much support from the team after his mom passed away. Wow anyways I was expecting the one player that showed up to his moms funeral to be someone like Davis or Olsen, was pretty shocked to hear it was Hardy.

I'm from Syracuse and Durell Eskridge is a beast. He's a big hitting ball hawk. He's 6'4" 205. He was about the only good player on the team and would be a nice pick for us in the mid rounds
