Yeah Darnold is in a tough position for getting moved. I could get behind him if we think we are totally out of the QB drafting market. But I dont think there is a huge improvement from him and Teddy Honestly I think year 2 Teddy would be better than year 1 Darnold + a pick.

I get what you are saying but thats not entirely a fair comparison. Im not tied to Teddy, but if we dont get a QB, I would bet that Teddy is going to be much better this coming year than he was last year. And a few more plays from Teddy this past year would have shut the entire QB conversation down.

Im doubtful that we land a QB this draft. Im just hoping that Teddy makes a similar transition that Derek Carr made this past year.

I agree FA is where you should try to set yourself up for the draft. But there is definitely a value scale. For example if you pick #5 overall and your big board has #5 TE, #6 DE then the best value at that position should be the DE. I do agree you cannot go in 100% with either philosophy. A team drafting Value means every year they draft a QB in round 1 A team drafting PBA is drafting Roberto Aguayo in the second.

I would agree with you on some media people. But some media people are just talking heads while others actually study the film. So that field is rather diverse. I dont know if I would agree with you entirely on the NFL organization comment tho. I do get your point

Yeah there are always exceptions but I do think there is a 'rule of thumb' involved here.

I like how everyone here who has watched a few YouTube highlights thinks they know better than people that actually get paid for this kind of thing. Given last years drafting success I have total trust in this teams ability to get the right guy. (despite what we think)

Lots of talk this time of year about positional value in regards to when to draft a player. Yet there is not a complete consensus on this. IE. OT's get drafted early and high but a strong argument can be made that you can build a good OL with later round picks, RB's should never get drafted in the 1st, "The 20th WR is almost the same as the 5th best WR" etc.. Obviously there are exceptions to every rule and clearly you would love to have every position be a 1st round talent. But GENERALLY what do you think teams should be looking at in early, mid and late round pics? If you were a GM how would you value positions? My take Rounds 1-2: QB, Pass rushers, CB Rounds 3-4: LB, WR, OL, DT, TE Rounds 5-7: RB, Special teams

Thats going to be an unpopular opinion on this board but I kind of agree with you. I wouldnt have any issue with Parsons but would prefer we drop back a few spots to do so.

I get what your saying, but thats a position of need and we are rebuilding so if it take a year or two to get elite that shouldnt be an issue

I dont mind this draft, however I would not want to essentially waste a pick on a back up QB. I would rather live and die with Teddy then. If bad Teddy comes back we will draft a QB next season. If suddenly good Teddy shows up then we are in good shape.

Don't flame on me too hard here... Was listening to some podcasts and they stated that Pitts might be the best overall playmaker in the in entire draft. If we are are unable to get a QB in the draft and assuming we dont trade for one, is he our best option? Would you draft him over Fields or Mac Jones?

Im a big fan of the RTFP. I found that a very interesting take especially on Fields.

Im not overly disappointed in it at the end of the day. The 'smart thing' might have been to let him walk but could you imagine this team without CMC after everyone else we lost? Plus, if we do get a rookie QB then a pass catching RB is their best friend. By the time the new QB is off their rookie deal CMC will also be off his, so his salary will not really be a major hinderance to the roster building process. We can say we over paid for positional value but its not really 'hurting' the team.
