  1. Im actually 100% ok with not having a vet back up. We were always going to ride or die with Sam. Sam was either going to win his way out of getting replaced or lose his way to it. I dont think signing an 'elite back up' is a good part of the rebuilding process. Win with Sam or lose with Sam. We lost. Now put him on ice for the year. Build an oline next year and the year after bring in a QB. Rebuild complete. Just like the plan has always been.
  2. Thats subjecture.. and most likely inaccurate. Firstly, 1st round QBs always get traded for something no matter how bad they are (see Josh Rosen). Plus I think we need to give Fit the benefit of the doubt that he knows how to negotiate and this is was the price driven by the market. I can see how people are mad and want to fire everyone, but I think that Fit is a good piece to this puzzle.
  3. I thought this was what Brady was all about.. but I might be getting that confused with CMC's 1000/1000 season.
  4. Thats the written way of adding 16 exclamation marks.
  5. I mean, to be objective, there were NO signs that he would be good. He was among the worst QB's in the league the last few years. The Panthers brought him in based on assumptions and projections of what he could be - not what the film showed. Sam has been what he always has been. That said, you have to take shots at QB's. This is just looking like a miss.
  6. Agreed. We took Sam's 5th year. So its likely he is here next year. I think we need sit him the rest of the year and let him learn from the sideline. Putting him out there is not helping us win and because of the 5th year option we need to see what he could be next year. We should bring in a vet to finish off the rest of the year and go into next season with Sam with an open QB competition. But at this point putting Sam out there is not good for anyone.
  7. I would argue that Julio Jones has been a better WR with less media coverage because of team he plays on. TY Hilton is in the same conversation. Small market team, really good numbers. Im not really here to argue about stats.. More that that market you play in 'makes' the player.
  8. Fair. But there are also a lot of other good players that put up stats, but play on smaller market teams.
  9. I find it amazing how one catch on a big market team, vs a big market team suddenly propels you into super stardom.
  10. I get what your saying but we have cap regardless of the rookie QB. So if we get a QB this year or the next we are still in a good spot. Actually waiting is probably better cause DJ Moore, Reddick and Burns will all take new deals soon. Horn I dont think needs to be generational to be worthy of his spot. The the modern NFL you need to stop the pass and you need plenty of CB's to do that. Its a really important position.
  11. Its crazy to think about how young Sam is given how long hes has played already. Im still not completely ready to give us on him. Might be best to put him on ice the rest of the year and see what he can do next year when we have a better oline.
  12. I get the concept but at this point we dont have the luxury of drafting guys to purposefully let them sit. The only teams that are actually able to do that are teams that are already good. If we did draft Mac he would have been starting already getting his face smashed in.
  13. I hate these type of questions. But whatever. We are not ready for a rookie QB. Our team is not ready to help them develop. The pats went out and bought a new team over the offseason and was ready to plunk one in. We are not. We can 'David Carr' Bridgewater and Darnold because we are not long term committed to them. We cannot do that to a rookie QB that we intend to build around. 2022 - oline 2023 - QB we need to stick to the plan.
  14. You HAVE to take shots at QB's until you find them. Depending on what happens with Watson and the price I wouldn't be opposed at bringing in Tua.
  15. I think the plan has always been to build the team then plunk in the QB last. We have taken hail mary shots at the QB position but have not dedicated to a player. If they would work we would be years a head but I dont think the plan is to draft a guy until 2023.
  16. I honestly really respect what they're doing here. I think in general NFL coaches and executives take the safe option way too often. The Rams are showing no qualms about mortgaging the future, paying out the nose for talent, and cutting sunk costs.
  17. Ok sorry for misunderstanding. I get what you are saying. DJ and Robbie both look to be playing very uninspired. I just know that this summer or next we WILL get a QB and we have to have guys for him. That said, if we are not getting a QB this year then I would do what the Pats did. Spend the money on all the other positions and try to drop a QB in later - they just lucked into one this year.
  18. Yeah, your probably right. We should just let him walk and be stuck with Robbie...
  19. I agree. The DB made a good move get around him. There are good players on both sides of the ball...
  20. I get what your saying but he also won Rookie of the year that year, so 'average' is a bit of a stretch. .... man I miss that guy
  21. I dont think we can trade Robby with that contract. He looks so uninspired the return wouldn't be worth it. If we think Henderson is ok then I could see us trading AJ as long as the play in to resign Gilmore and Jackson. I dont want to trade for anyone at this point.
