Now on to a small tangent on Cam vs AR15.... People love to compare them but honestly Cam coming out was in a very different situation. Cam DOMINATED at every level. I dont think he lost a game. He came into the draft as an unrefined passer but that was ok cause he dominated at every level. AR15 is not NEARLY at that level. His only similarity is simply his size and athletic profile.

Cam was not a shoe in. There were 3 groups of people in that draft Group #1: Jimmy Classen should be given more time cause of him being a top HS recruit - he just needs more help around him. Group #2: Cam Newton fans Group #3: Locker/Gabbert fans. This was a larger contingent that you would think. Both these guys were better passers and more of the traditional QB profile. Cam was never a shoe in.

I dont remember DJ over Ridley being a big deal. We picked low in that draft so you pick what falls to you. I think most people were happy with the DJ pick. The Fournette and CMC draft we all wanted a RB or the TE that year but Fournette was the clear favorite here... because we all wanted to relive the Stewart days. CMC and Bryce Young both have similar vibes to the conversation. He's too small, he's not typical (white RB/small frame for a QB), yada yada. But thats why we all freaked out at CMC's workout photo's cause we could see him getting bigger as year 1 he went down at first contact a lot.

Honestly one of the things I get excited about CVJ based on these reports is his accuracy. The QB we draft will be our next franschise guy that we compare to Cam and Jake. And the one thing I HOPING this next guy can do it actually hit a guy in stride. I loved CAM and for as amazing as he was I feel like we had so many opportunities left on the field cause he would throw behind a receiver and make them stop or slow down, causing them to get tackled. ALL I want is to see a get catch a ball in stride while running across the middle. Sounds like CJ can do that.

Im getting super hydped up about both of these guys, but how do they compare to prospects the last number of years?

I liked Sam. I liked what I saw towards the end of the season. I think he can and will make a strong come back.

I would still like to see if we could bring in Nuke.. even if we had to give up a draft pick.

its just the reality of it. Look at Favre, Brady, Palmer, Wilson, Darnold and soon to be Rodgers. Its pretty rare a player only plays on 1 team their entire career. So it is special that Luke did it.

It was amazing. He will be hard to overtake in my fandom.

Being a fan from 2003 onward, he was my favorite player this franchise has ever had. We went through 2 decades of elite MLB play and yet Luke set a new standard. He was never flashy. Never the big hit guy. Just a text book tackler with the highest football IQ I have ever watched.

I actually really like this. As a guy that works in teams at work, having time away from work, going to conferences together is a great way to bond and build relationships. If anything it teaches you to trust your coworkers as you all pull towards a common goal. I hope that this is the start of something special that we are building here.

Does Young lean into his small frame and order a chicken caesar salad or do you order a double entree to show you are trying to bulk up?

Saw this on twitter, thought it was a funny and intriguing question.. If you one of the 3 QB's taken out for supper what do you order? - A massive porterhouse to show you are the man? - Fish to show your health conscious? - Do you order beer if others are drinking? What do you do?

I think there is a lot of truth to this. Teams dont want the back up to make any noise or be more popular than the starter. Cam is an exciting player. Put him behind a struggling QB and fans will call for him. For example if we draft a rookie QB and he started to fail it would not take long for the CAM chants in the stadium. That will almost never happen with Dalton.

Gosh this is going to be the thread that people will quote from for years when they want to do their internet trolling thing.. We draft young and get gets hurt "See! I told you he was frail" We dont draft young and he becomes the best QB in the draft "See! He was always the top rated QB!" Draft night, we select our QB. The guy that our braintrust thinks can lead this team and cement their names in NFL legacy. ....Yet, draft night will be filled with raging fans hating the pick for one reason or another.... I cannot wait (eye roll)

I mean that needed to happen. But the NFL is cold. Imagine your boss asking you to take a pay cut so they could afford your replacement.
