  1. What I would love to see... Trade back to the early teens for an additional 3rd and draft the best remaining DL. Of the guys we are looking at (Walker, Campbell, Stewart, Williams or Green) 1 or 2 of those will be available. Easy.
  2. I still support the discussion to move on from TB5. Teddy was always planned to be the bridge QB. I dont think he ever could have amounted to much, and I think that is backed up by the fact that he went on to do nothing after we moved on from him. You can make a better argument that we made the right decision trade for Darnold OR Baker and the bad decision was to move on from either one of them.
  3. Listen, I dont know anything about these players and I dont follow CFB at all.. but if he was never even questioned by the police then what are we talking about here?
  4. I agree changing QB's and coaches every year will never result in success. That said.. Teddy was named "Teddy check down" for a reason.. Could we given him a better chance? Yes, but I dont think it was a bad decision to move on. Darnold: I supported trading what we did for a potential Franchise QB. The team failed him. The right coach in place and we would be miles a head of where we are today. Baker: I supported (and always will) taking a shot at a QB. The team failed him. We had 2 maybe 3 potential Franchise QB's on the roster but we didnt have a good team around them or a plan. Both have gone on to become a Franchise QB for other teams while we continued to rebuild. That said Young came into his own this last year. I anticipate a big step this year.
  5. The biggest take away, and Im surprised that no one mentioned it is where they asked Tilis if the reason for the structure of the deals being mostly 2 year deals is because of BY potential contract and he said, "... we didnt think too much about Bryce and where he is, thats still TBD."
  6. I would agree but Carolina is not often the team used for 'click bait'
  7. I agree. I would be happy for the player but upset about the trade. We are NOT 1 player away.. we cannot afford this trade.
  8. Panthers trade 8, 57, 74, 2026 2RD for Giants #3 overall and draft Abdul Carter. Thoughts?
  9. Yeah its funny cause I watched this really pumped the breaks on Walker. But then I watched another mock and Walker is the 2nd coming of Parsons. So I dont know.. That said.. Mike Green anyone?
  10. Im ok with this pick, but If Im the Panthers I would try to trade back a few picks as its assumed an o-line run is coming right after us. We might be able to trade back 3 picks, grade an additional 3rd round pick and still get our guy. I would be trilled for something like that.
  11. Yeah he will be great.. but for a different team.
  12. I know our coach EJ got a lot of hate last year but I think that the entire FO and owner knew that we were going to gut the defense to build the offence to see what we had in Young. That worked basically as expected. Terrible D but we found out that we can keep rolling with Young. I think that was clearly the discussion and understanding heading into last year and thats why EJ didnt get fired. IMO EJ is a good coach when he has players. I think we are going to see a dramatic turn around this year to the point that he once again, gets Head Coach interviews next offseason.
  13. I dont hate the pick but would like to see it in a trade down. Honestly I think we are in a good spot to trade down as the run on OT's will start right after us, so we can get a team to jump a head of it and still get a player we want.
  14. This is why people that were freaking out obviously just dont know how the financials work..
  15. Knowing these deals where in the works, great job on getting it done earlier.
  16. I would rather have Golden with a trade down than TMac at 8.
  17. Sure you can say all those things but what is your solution? What would you have done?
  18. I get that my example was not exhaustive of all the reasons, but it also is that simple (generally). Which is why some teams pay players years before the get to FA to save some money and bet that the player continues to develop. And I understand your point about Horn, but I dont think we are in a position to allow players of his caliber to leave. We had no succession plan for him. Had we let him go and Mike Jackson was our #1 corner on the team I might throw up. So we need to over pay to get some stability - and hope the injuries are behind us.
  19. True. So you can say that he is not worth the money because he has missed a bunch of games - and thats a fair argument. But you can also say that when he is available he is 'one of' the best CB's in the league. But now you need to value that. I doubt that he takes a deal worth less then he did (obviously) so then you need to determine is the draft pick we are going to get back for him worth it. So you can do what we did, or you can trade the player, thereby making the defence worse, but you have most cap space sitting there. So on sundays when we are getting blown out, you can still feel good that we have a lot of cap space.
  20. I think a lot of people dont actually understand the business of the NFL and thats clear when they say things like "he's only a top 15 player, why is he getting paid #1 money?!" Cause thats how it works.. If you are an elite player nearing Free Agency then you will get paid top of the market. Its literally that simple. You dont need to be the best to get paid the best. Its timing. If you dont understand that, then probably best to stay away from most business related discussions.
  21. "One of" Yeah I think most people in the NFL would say that.
