The franchise guy Carolina Panthers Deep Dive
CanadianCat replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree with you. I also appreciate how The Franchise Guy has better perspective than probably everyone on this board as he has watched every play from every team. If he says we had the worst coaching, scheme and execution I put a lot of stock in that. Im also going into this year with a blank slate for BY. All the guy has ever done is win. I'll bet he bounces back in a big way. -
Does anyone actually think Bryce will actually be good?

Hm... Im not a car guy but I kind of get what your saying. So in other words... Building an NFL player is like crafting the perfect ice cream sundae. Imagine starting with a basic vanilla scoop, representing a player with raw talent and potential. To take on the richer, more complex flavors (the elite NFL players), you begin to add layers and modifications. You might add a swirl of caramel (enhancing skills through rigorous training), sprinkle on some nuts (building physical strength and endurance), and top it with a cherry (mental fortitude and strategy). The sundae is crafted to compete with premium options like Rocky Road, Mint Chocolate Chip, or Cookie Dough. But while your sundae may shine in its current form, those premium flavors can still be further enhanced. Rocky Road might get extra marshmallows, Mint Chocolate Chip could add chocolate fudge, and Cookie Dough might receive a drizzle of hot chocolate syrup. In the end, your vanilla-based sundae, despite its impressive modifications, is maxed out. Bryce is that vanilla sundae, perfected but limited in how much further it can go compared to the inherently richer, premium flavors. -
Does the Canales era have a new vibe?
CanadianCat replied to SmittysLawnGuy's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Tepper knows that he looks bad with moving on from so many coaches so soon. He has always said he wants the Pittsburg model. I respect that he pulled the plug on guys that made it clear they were not right. So with his desire of building his reputation back up I think he will give every benefit to Canales build something. I think that is either with BY this year or a new QB next year. -

So what do you want then? The vet coach? = Reich The team builder = Rhule? Im my opinion we picked up a young coach, who has a track record of helping under performing QBs. That EXACTLY what we needed. We have a sunk cost in BY right now so might as well throw everything we have to help his succeed. Given what this team has done with what they had, Im pretty happy with it. -

I think BY will bounce back in a big way. We have basically done everything to put him in a spot to succeed and all this kid has ever done was win prior to coming to the poo show of a team we gave to him last year. I think he will surprise people this year. -
I loved the days of 'Double Trouble'. If that wins games I'll ALL for it.

I for one am excited about pounding the ball. I only started watching football (Im a Canadian so give me a break) during the Fox era of football and only in 2004. So I fell in love with nothing more than pounding the ball and good defense. But I think that if we can establish the run AND also put BY in the best position to be a play maker we have a helluva a team. -

If this is the case then this is a good RB4 with a lot of upside. -

Honestly I dont want to cut him. He has been a good player int he league and when at his best is a CMClite. I would rather wait and see what he does behind a good oline then straight out cut him. -
I love to bash them for this move but its smart.. They have a team that can win the NFCS this year, but yet they are picking in the top 10 now. Cousins contract is really only a 2 year deal. So Penix can sit and learn with no pressure for 2 years and in year 3 when Cousins guaranteed money is over they can plug in Penix. If they were not in a position to win the South this year then I think this would have been bad trade, but its smart and they can afford it.

Im really hoping that we sign him. I get we are not a playoff team, but we need to put the best product out on the field as possible. Because.. 1. Im tired of watching shitty football 2. A good defense will also help put Bryce in a better position. To me this year is all about Bryce and a good defense impacts play calling and therefore how Bryce is used.

Well Tremble was getting George Kittle comps when came out.. Im really excited to see what Sanders can do, but Im not holding my breath for a 4th round TE. -

Honestly I really like this draft. I think my favorite pick is Brooks. Assuming he is what he was in college, we have a thicker version of CMC. This team has made it clear we want to run the ball and we are now set up to do that. I know everyone is pumped about the Sanders pick up... Im hesitant about that because I felt that same way when we drafted Ian Thomas and again when we drafted Tremble. Everything from 4th round down I think is just a shot in the dark, but I REALLY like pick 1 and 2 and think they instantly make the team better. -
