Darnold's QBR was higher than Tannehill's
CanadianCat replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thats a good point, but I would disagree a bit. I think they liked Sam better than the value of Fields at that draft position. -
The Arnold & Tremble Combo: Why it will shine

I think I have been overly high on Tremble and his predicted output but your assumption of 275-400 yards is probably accurate. Good analysis. -

Im excited. He's boom or bust. Either we got a 23 year old Franchise QB or we will get a top 3 draft pick. -
I actually tend to agree with this list. WE are excited about our guys but we dont have an overly exciting group of proven guys compared to teams a head of us on that list. That said we have potential to be higher on the list but as of now we dont. People need to temper expectations... we are still in rebuilding mode with a QB that might land us a top 3 pick next year.

I totally agree. The safer play would have been to keep Teddy and hope he improved. But he never seemed like a QB you could truly build around. Darnold is a high risk high reward. He could be terrible and if so we pick very high next year. BUT if he hits he could be the type of player you build around. IF he hits Joe Brady is the hottest coaching candidate on the market next year. If he doesn't well Tepper signed off on this move so we keep looking but our coaching staff is still stable. Some people might say it costs too much but we were not going to use that money on any other position that was more impactful to the team this year. IMO this was such a good gamble no matter how it turns out. -
Panthers Confidential - A Look Into the Panthers Offseason
CanadianCat replied to DeSim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Im very excited about the leadership and direction of this team -
Im trying to think about who is our biggest rival and I think that changes through the years... In our prime, around the 2015 team I would have said that Seattle would have been our biggest rival team. The Cam vs Russel and Luke vs Wagner. But I feel like that has fizzed out. The last 2 years I could maybe see that being the Saints (cause fugg'em Saints).. or even the Bills/WTF with all the Carolina connections. This year... Im not sure who feels like the biggest rivalry game. Who do you guys 'feel' it is?

Oof that was painful...

...I was not trying to make a definitive statement..

Your not wrong about this being basically the same as last season in terms of trying to salvage a broken QB. Its boom or bust and we busted last season. I get frustrated with people that post here that are overly critical... its the friggen offseason in Pandemic Season 2 here.. lets try to look at the upside...
-
I agree he was a high upside low downside QB. I think the biggest reason people arer upset are for 2 things that are not his fault. 1. He was the QB following Cam. 2. He got paid more than what people felt he should have. The team threw a dart on him and it didn't work. Its the same situation we are in this year with Darnold. Taking flyers on high upside QB's is always worth it.

To be fair to Teddy he never lost us games.... he just never won them either..

Amazing interview -
I still think of the waive of emotions watching the Arizona game when TD broke his arm...

I could only imagine.

I still remember the 2008 game vs the Bucks. Where we racked up 300 yards rushing.. I was watching that game with my buddy who is a Bucks fan and it was the best time.. it birthed one of the best stiff arms ever..

A twist on the JAG's post.. Obviously the SB years will be top moments for people but what are some of your favorite/most impactful memories you have as your time as a panther fan?
