  1. I really dont want to defend Brady but is HE the actual problem? Looking at the PFF grades for our oline or the happy feet of Darnold. I dont think you can even properly evaluate either guy with how bad the blocking is right now.
  2. I would disagree with that. I dont think the plan was to draft a QB and build around him. I think the plan was to build a team and the last piece is the QB - which is why we didnt draft one this year KNOWING next year is not a good QB draft. I think they have taken shots on used QB's hoping to find one but I dont think that actually impacts the rebuild plan. I think the plan is that in 2022 we rebuild the oline and get draft capital for 2023. 2023 is QB time. IMO..
  3. Honestly we should not have a plan B. I dont want to run PJ out there and sneak out 2-3 more wins cause teams dont have game film on him. I think we need to live or die with Sam. Either Sam can fix himself (there is still time) or he doesn't and we tank and have a top draft pick.
  4. ha! I was kind of thinking the same thing. Negotiating 101 is never show blind interest. Tepper and Fitt are not dumb.
  5. Fields doesnt look very good right now. But had we drafted him we would have said he was good but our oline was bad. We would have basically doubled down on a mistake.
  6. First off, its a pretty wild statement that Tepper is 'Snyder-esk' so maybe just slow your roll unless you have actual allegations. Snyder is a garbage human. I think your just mad at Tepper cause he has not built a super bowl caliber team in 2 years. Secondly, there is no 'disagree' button so its the poo. In that case I poo on your post cause I think its a bad take.. Thirdly, Minshew actually had some very impressive stats. Considering the surrounding cast he had to work with he was pretty impressive. If we are throwing darts at QB, which is what we are doing, then he's not a bad player to take a shot on.
  7. Actually, this past offseason there was a bunch of analysis that the best 'value' would be to ALWAYS draft a QB in round one no matter who is in the board or on your team. Simply for the reason that they are so valuable. Even when a 1st round QB doesnt play well their trade value remains very high (see Darnolds trade package for example). In a vacuum, simply looking at value, drafting a 1st round QB each year makes sense. I mean you can argue for days about the 'right way' to build a team but I thought that take was interesting.
  8. Well I think he will be on the team regardless as we took his 5th year option. We NEED to bring in competition though. I just dont think we can run a rookie out there without fixing the oline first.
  9. No rumors, I fell in love with this guy as a draft prospect, but he has really done nothing in Cleveland. Is he not good or just not used? Thoughts?
  10. I liked the Darnold trade at the time. I bought into the 'jets ruined him' narrative. That said my first option was Minshew. I think he is really under rated and would have cost significantly less. There still is a lot of season left.. Im hopeful that Darnold can get past this...
  11. I dont think we can pick a QB this next year.. Our target should be to acquire an additional 1st rounder in 2023 to give us ammo to move up if needed. The 2022 draft should focus on o'line help and 2023 draft capital.
  12. I appreciate the advice. We settled on Silver Doe Cove, Luna Lane and Borrow Drive. Evidently all HP references but subtle enough that nothing stands out. Please these road names blend into the remaining community. The sales guys would have rioted with Dumbledore drive anyway! ha!
  13. Im a developer, I have to name a bunch of streets. Aiming for a very subtle Harry Potter theme (something that only die hard fans would know). Any suggestions?
  14. Thats fair. And a pretty level headed comment.
  15. Brady a few weeks ago was getting all kinds of praise for the 2nd coming of Sam. Now, I have not heard anything from him. I think that this franchise has tended to move on from OC's too fast, but at this point I don't trust Brady's evaluation process on finding the next QB for us.
  16. Thats a pretty extreme take. By that same logic you could then apply that to every aspect of life until you go live in a colony.
  17. I really dont want Watson. I want to win, I really do, but I dont want to do that with him. I like cheering for players on my team that are good dudes. Watson is not a good dude, no matter if any of these charges stick. I would not let him near my wife or daughter.
  18. I think that's an owner decision. The coach want to win every game and doesn't care about about draft position. The GM and owner care about that. Last year I dont think Tepper would have stepped in to tell them to shut it down. This year I can see it happening.
  19. yeah.... maybe good to put him on ice the rest of the season?.....
  20. Falcons, Pats, Cards, WFT, Miami, Falcons, Bills, Bucks, Saints, Bucks. Realistically... we have what, 2-3 winnable games left?
  21. Man this has been a roller coaster of a season. Most people came into the season with low expectations. Some had hopes of sneaking into the playoffs but that was based on Sam Darnold playing like a top 3 pick with 4 years experience. What we got was reality. We got the NYJ version of Sam Darnold. BUT we beat terrible teams. Now we just got beat by a terrible team. It sucks. I think our defense will be fine. But we still need an oline and a QB... same concerns we came into the year with. Missing that 2nd rounder sucks
  22. I don't trust that Brady would know how to use him
