Thats the sad conclusion I came to ask well. He seems to be another TMJ. Big hopes for him and just disappointment. Although if I had to compare them both I would honestly give TMJ the slight edge in ceiling which isn't saying much.

Agreed, I hate to smash someone's dreams as I had my own at one time but I just haven't seen anything that shows me Mingo has it to be productive in the league. The other young guys still have the verdict out on them and they have shown enough to most definitely be ahead of him.

I feel like it's the best plan also. I don't get a great feeling about the QB's this season. Would rather just sign some sort of proven vet and stay the course for next season then see where we are at

I guess if he doesn't want to be here like Johnson and will be leaving anyhow at seasons end just like Johnson then by all means, might as well try to salvage something out of him rather than nothing.

Need to see much more of him the rest of the season as well as more XL and even see more of Mingo to make sure he isnt what we had hoped he would be. Throw away season so who cares and lets just do the best to develop the young guys and see where they stand by seasons end

Probably more behind the scenes than we know. For what they let me go for, he must have been out of favor with everyone on staff. Possibly could have gotten more to just keep him and get a compensatory pick at end of season so someone must have really not liked the guy?

I like Tmac as a WR more but like Hunter as a DB. It would be a great thing to have Tmac as another WR but that would be two WR's in teg first round two years in a row without a major QB to throw to them. It's sort of like having a Ferrari with no steering wheel or tires to drive it. And then of course there is a huge issue with our terrible defense. Yes injuries have been bad this year but would the defense have been good without the injuries? We have a few decent players like Horn and Brown but defense needs so much more help. As much as I like Tmac I would say go defense in draft and continue to develop XL and Coker. Thielen and Johnson are probably gone unfortunately so perhaps sign a WR in free agency that can contribute and hopefully not break the bank or draft one in later rounds that can actually develop like Coker has or is currently? And god I don't know what to do as far as QB. Honestly I'd take Jamis Winston for a while. He has always been solid if he can just keep the ints under control. Plus he has awesome pregame antics that are harmless but hilarious.

You actually get it. OP's hate for Canales is due to Canales relion and politics combined with the fact that Canales was a real sorry excuse for a husband in years past before he decided to change himself and grow up. OP has apparently never done anything shameful or regretful in his life.

There's no fan boy, it's just give the mother fugger a shot to see if he can grow as a coach and improve before seasons end. Keep firing coaches before the seasons up or after only one season and we will not have a chance at anybody at all worth a poo because they will fear to be fired half way through the season or after year 1. Someone saying we have to hold onto him a bit more does not necessarily make them a canales fan boy, it just makes them thinking rational about being able to hire anyone else worth a damn and seeing if this dude we have can grow as a head coach. I am not minding him as a head coach so far as I realize it's a throw away year and he is learning but I feel he needs to have an offensive coordinator that he likes or believes in calling plays. He needs to be the head coach and not take on two jobs. With all that said I still expect to see this team looking better prepared by seasons end and definitely next season because my patience for a head coach only goes so far for so long. He gets a few seasons in my book as long as the team improves and he shows growth as a coach. If not then it's time to find another again unfortunately.
