Panthers in the Market for a QB (again): 2025 Draft
Ricky Prickles replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not watching them....? Because I responded on a message board mentioning their names does not necessarily mean I watch their every move does it...? Don't much care for Deion (is that how it's spelled?) and have zero against Shedeur (is that better on the spelling? I googled it this time to ensure it's spelled correctly for you Mr spelling police) but I still have an opinion on the matter if that's okay with you? Sounds as if you may be a little sensitive on anything that relates to a negative opinion on Deion (spelling getting better now?) perhaps? My limited however briefly interactions with Deon (uh oh I spelled it wrong here) helped me form my opinion so I apologize if they do not fall in line with how you see my opinions should. I think your limited reading comprehension and understanding here may be the issue? I don't have "hate", I simply do not care for Deion (spelling?) due to a few interactions and his son nothing at all against him as I've never met him but it's nothing more than an opinion in that I don't believe he will be as successful in the NFL without his dad completely controlling everything in his path that he can possibly control. It is what it is and is just an opinion. If we are talking semantics here, I think your opinion on him being the next great QB sucks donkey balls and is incorrect but again, I guess we shall see when next season plays out. What I do know is Canales does not have the aggressive personality and demeanor to tell an over zealous legend father who will become a nuisance from what I've seen to sit down and shut up. Need a guy like a Dan Campbell to do that and keep his dad at a distance unless Dad wants to come coach some DB's and help the team in some capacity but we both know he won't accept that role so it's an idea that doesn't even matter here. Good enough for ya? -
Panthers in the Market for a QB (again): 2025 Draft
Ricky Prickles replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Uh oh somebody must be upset about that "Panthers don't know how to run a team post of yours" where I questioned curious to know how you know so much and are qualified perhaps? Projecting or not Deon is a walking talking issue currently and in my opinion as shown by many issues in Colorado the past couple seasons. Shedur will bust and will not be the star his dad was in my opinion also but until we see it all play out, both yours and my opinion is just that; an opinion. He is a good QB in college no doubt but when he doesn't have dad at the next level I am curious to see how it goes. I was once around Deon however briefly during the COVID era. His eldest son was with a team I was involved with in a capacity for one shortened COVID season. No problem with his boy but his father I could tell was an issue. Without going into details, Deon is something else entirely. Perhaps not a completely bad human being but one that can get extremely toxic and thinks the world should immediately bow to him and do his every bidding because of his own past accomplishments in football. That could get very tough if the right franchise is not found with leadership that will tell him to know his role, sit down and shut up. Adversity does not define everything true but adversity on a football field during a season is minor compared to life adversity I've seen some other players face first hand who came from nothing and are still dealing with issues currently as they make their way through college. Football field adversity does not compare to the real world off the field and out of the locker room adversity some face. You speak as if you may know something on the subject other than what people see on television and read on the internet. What locker rooms have you been involved in or witnessed the everyday play out during the season once the high school level is passed? I have to admit my experience seeing the everyday lives play out at the NFL level is limited to former players who have gone beyond Div. 1 and I only know what is told to me by them when they return to me in off seasons and breaks so I can't fully get an idea at that level. I have however seen a few days at the college level play out and I base my opinion from the very limited I have seen out of Deon in person and yes probably biased a bit after a few of those very limited interactions but it's my opinion determined by what I have seen over the years with my own eyes out of many situations and players rather than my arm chair GM opinion based upon what I read on the internet and the statistics I see on TV. As I said, we shall see once next season plays out but the Panthers are not equipped to handle what will come with Shedur Sanders I personally believe. A team like the Detroit Lions with a coach like Dan Campbell who is not afraid to tell someone to back off, sit down and shut the hell up I could only guess will be needed when Shedur is drafted and that personality will not be needed for Shedur but for daddy. -

Panthers in the Market for a QB (again): 2025 Draft
Ricky Prickles replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Guarantee you Deon eventually tries to make a move to coach his kid in the NFL. Not sure if anyone will hire him as a head coach but I bet he tries. I think Shedur has had it very easy his whole life so I worry for how he will handle any adversity that comes along with being a rookie QB in the NFL. I hope he turns out great but his father being the helicopter dad and general a-hole he is could end up making it very tough on whatever team drafts him just in my opinion. -
I would take Fields as a backup if I didn't have to give up much for him. I think he has earned and could be a legit backup in the league behind a very durable starting QB who doesn't miss a ton of games. That's no knock of Fields as I think Russel Wilson is done and feel like at this point Fields will take the job back from Wilson before seasons out. Of course I'm biased because Russel Wilson gives me the creeps with his extreme level of awkwardness and just plain weirdness. He is about as fake as they get and apparently a master at convincing others that he still has anything left. In Seattle I don't know if it was his skill or guys like Tyler Lockett who didn't get enough credit for coming down with his hail Marys he would just randomly throw up.

He is a talented fat guy hence where his name comes from. Also lived hard but cleaned himself up and appears to be a good human being trying to give back much like Post Malone. Both of those two seem genuine as hell to me even though I don't listen to either's music.

Taking on Watson contract if the compensation is right
Ricky Prickles replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
The whole scenario is dumb and wouldn't possibly work for the Browns so it will never happen. Mr. happy Ending is stuck up in that poo hole they call Cleveland. I know that city all too well as it's where I grew up. Watson and Cleveland deserve one another. Both aren't worth a poo. -
The stardom of Cam made no difference to me and I was just glad to have a good QB who was a threat to run or pass. Sanders though I think is going to be a team cancer along with his daddy. Daddy will meddle like crazy and will never be able to keep his big mouth shut. Sanders much like Bryce except even more so has had life very easy and never had any adversity at all while growing up rich having every resource available to him so I worry for how he will be if or when times get rough during his career. I don't see him a big star at the next level just like you. He is over hyped in my opinion and probably thinks the world of himself from what I can tell. Daddy will also do something stupid like insisting his song be played after every touchdown and just in general be a complete nuisance when he could be cool and just shut his big ass mouth and come be a defensive backs coach on the team or something.

My prediction in 3 years - Panthers return to their roots
Ricky Prickles replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hope I am not dead before seeing a winning season. That's scary to think about mortality but I want to remain on this earth and watch my child grow up, be a decent husband and continue to build my own goals and life. I abused my body to the max with my sports endeavors as a young buck and all the training and hits and unfortunately drugs used to get there and these days all I want to do is live a healthy lifestyle and work to keep myself healthy to hopefully prevent another younger than myself from taking down of my paths and making some of my mistakes. I just want to live, laugh and love man. I hope I have many more years to enjoy this life and all the good and bad that comes with it. -
It appears there is a chance of him resigning from a recent past article. Lots of instability on many teams out there. he wants to be a number 1 and here he would be for at least the next couple seasons. I could see him signing a couple year deal here. He appears to be happy with his now opportunities with Dalton at QB. Dalton is not a top 3 QB in the NFL but he is no slouch and is capable of throwing the ball into his hands downfield as Bryce was not. Johnson is being told things you and I are not also. He may be aware that Dalton could be back next season throwing to him or that their plans are to have someone throwing him the ball who is capable of being an NFL QB and making the throws. We have no idea what is going on behind the scenes and there is no major instability other than Dalton could b the bridge until a permanent young QB is found who can make the throws. Yes the defense sucks but I would guess that will be worked on in the off season. The coach is not going anywhere so no coaching instability and if Johnson likes him then that adds to remaining. He is schemed here to be the number 1 and will be next season as well to see which new rookie WR's develop (hopefully both with Coker and Legette) but he appears to be the number 1 for the foreseeable future so I dont see a problem with paying him a fair wage for the next few seasons if they can come to terms on what is fair to both sides. But i just dont see all this instability spoken of. Yep, our drafted QB is a bust and he was replaced with an old bridge guy who can get the job done with the hopes of finding a more long term guy soon I am sure. Other than this I dont see extreme instability here. I see a team that isnt very good which needs help in various places but the O-line is there to protect Dalton or any young (not Bryce Young) QB who can make NFL throws and if the QB has time then Johnson can get balls thrown his way which he wants. He wants number 1 guy, he has that here.

The costco sounds very enticing and who knows, perhaps a diamond the rough could be found with that 7th rounder but i think adding Bryce could kill that deal.

Are we now actively pulling for David Tepper to fail?
Ricky Prickles replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
So tell us what he is doing this season that is so bad that you hope he loses all his money and is forced to sell? How is he currently meddling and being tyrannical to the point you hope the guy goes bankrupt. Boy thats some bad karma you are putting out there. Got to watch that poo, I learned at a point in my life karma or however one wants to look at it from any sort of spiritual or even religious standpoint is very real. Scary as hell to me personally and would never wish bad upon someone who is not actively and knowingly harming myself or a loved one. -

Ricky Prickles replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
He is not selling the team regardless. It makes him money. He seems to be backing off of everything and remaining more away a little so perhaps he is learning to know his place. I dont want the organization to fail more or fail harder, I want to see a turnaround day by day from here on out. If someone roots against the organization at this point I would say they should just probably support another team if they feel that toxic inside. Like it or not this is still a game and it is not worth that much toxicity inside to worry that much. -
There is no guarantee he wants to leave and ESPN has had a story recently that reports say he would like to remain a Panther so who knows what the truth is but im guessing Dan Morgan may so if he isnt traded assume they are currently trying to work a contract out with him that would be fair for both sides.

Next week when ol' Teppy Tepp and I meet at our Pokemon trading card club night at Applebees, I will talk to him about this and see what he is thinking then report back. -
This right here. Bryce seems like a nice dude and is one hell of a sideline cheerleader and supportive backup QB but unfortunately I don't think his body of work in the NFL supports him even being a backup. If you can't make all the throws you can't be a backup I guess is my train of thought. To be a backup NFL QB you still must be an amazing QB compared to the rest of the world and I'm convinced some armchair QB's here could potentially stand in the pocket and deliver with a little more confidence and swag as sad as that sounds. I'm not trying to be mean or insult him but it's just a fact of reality. Case in point, I'm dropping about 6-7 inches of beef on the wife. She is okay with it but no porn producer is calling me anytime soon since I'm not packing a foot of dick but at least I'm being a realist and know this as well as come to terms with it.

Unfortunately Bryce starting will mean very minimal development for our young WR's and TE which will then delay their development further. Why do that? We know he is not the answer now so time to worry about developing the younger players who catch passes. It will hurt us in the long run to start Bryce again since we know he really isnt capable of making NFL throws. I dont understand this mindset as it only hurts others development.

If We Don't Win Another Game. Do We Make Any Trades??
Ricky Prickles replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would only consider trading Adam Thielen and Miles Sanders at this point. I like Thielen but this is so the young WR's can have the most opportunity for development since we are using a QB capable of throwing the ball more than 5 yards and they now have a shot at development. Plus it gives Thielen a chance to go to a team who may be chasing a ring if that's what he wants. I would trade Sanders also but nobody wants him or that contract and he holds no value to anyone I have a feeling. He isn't doing us any good and I feel as if any other young back from any teams practice squad could match that production easily. I still would not rush Brooks along and would give that knee all the time it needs especially for a RB who will be making many cuts in live game situations. No reason to rush him along and at this point I'm okay with pretending we can't have him this season and just making sure that knee is completely well to 100%. If game action this year then very light carries and a major backup role for him to mainly just watch. Either way we don't need sanders but nobody is offering us a thing for him due to how he has looked since in Carolina and that contract of his so it is just wishful thinking on my behalf
