I feel like his issues are mental. I don't think he has the mindset for the NFL and is probably somewhat of a baby brat. I could be wrong but he shows many characteristics of it. His physical talents made him great in high school and college playing at a top school alongside top talent but in the pros it takes that AND MORE. It takes the mindset as well. Those who have only physical talent and no mindset usually aren't successful long terms in the pros. They may be good for a season or get hopes up but they seem to fizzle fast. TMJ has not even shined for a season unfortunately. It HAS to be his mindset I believe. His mindset would probably make him study his playbook harder or make him desire to be the best or push him to be a "dawg" but I have a feeling it's not there. What he needs is a good mentor to tell him what he is doing wrong in his mind and he needs a good position coach or head coach to jump all over his ass and work on that mind. Or even a sport psychologist perhaps? It's easier for a coach to just cut a player like that because they can't spend so much time on just one. His has immense physical potential but I believe simply lacks a mindset for this all which holds him back completely as a player in the NFL. A change of scenery will not fix this as his mindset would more than likely follow him to a new team yielding the same less than mediocre results his career has been so far. Only he can see an issue there and truly seek help to alter his mind if that's what it is and if he doesn't see a problem or even believe that's what it is then why would anything ever change from him? If it's mindset he will not magically get better one season unless he has worked on it intensely. That guy alters his mindset and watch how successful he becomes if my theory is correct. Question is would he even realize and come to terms with the true issue? Some do but many never will unfortunately.

Panthers agree to terms with linebacker Tae Davis

Some on here get mad if every last player we sign is not an all pro. I guess they think rosters are made up of mostly all pros and future hall of famers....? -
I hope we draft him because I like him and he is a good guy but also to enjoy reading all the posts bitching about drafting him on here. Its a win/win for me if they draft him.
-
They just don't get that or apparently can't grasp that unfortunately. Let's see what Mingo does with actual coaching is my opinion.
-
Lol, so if anybody is interested in drafting a late round QB they are whatever your version of a "free timer" is apparently. You make absolutely no sense at all. Because a late round QB has never worked out for us yet, that means we should never ever try again? Oh okay, another brilliant statement! You must be one busy important man. Please don't pay any mind to us "free timers".

Before he tries to control some situation where he insists he gets hired on as head coach to some team that drafts his son shouldn't Deon turn around Colorado first and make them into contenders in order to have the right to demand what we all know is coming?
-
Of course they aren't right now but some of the comments on here act like every signing is supposed to be an all pro or they get pissed. I don't get what they expect?

People on here bitching about signing him must think we are only supposed to sign all pros and future hall of famers. You actually need depth and guys to fill out the roster. Those guys can't all be first ballot hall of famers by the way.

If you're looking for someone we turn the team over to if Bryce ends up a bust or gets injured wouldn't you rather it be a young guy we get in the draft late round just to see if he can catch lightning in a bottle? I understand a vet who is considered a first round bust for a backup but at that point the whole season is a wash anyhow so why not a young draft pick late rounder to see if we could make him the starter? I think Dalton is fine as a backup and looked so/so okay last season in his one outing but we could draft a late round QB and have him waiting in the wings to take over if Bryce doesn't pan out or gets hurt and perhaps find someone worth at least being a long term backup or better, a hidden gem.
-
You are probably right and he wont even be there day 3 to have that choice to consider unfortunately.
-
How do we know Andy Dalton is washed?
-
What about Spencer Rattler? There is some potential there with him being in a bad team last year with zero protection.
-
I care. A day three QB is a good idea to not lose much in the gamble and have a small chance of finding a diamond in the rough. It's worth trying especially with a late pick. How is this post such a "bad topic"?
-
Plug in almost anybody and at least the same production so it was worth taking a chance and finding someone better.

Turf is trash and should have been gone long ago. I will never understand inconsistencies such as what you just mentioned
-
DJ Moore is awesome and I am still so disappointed we traded him but nobody has that inner fire Steve Smith had. Don't get me wrong DJ is such a good player to produce with sub par QB's for years don't know if I could say he is a Steve Smith yet. Who knows though maybe eventually. I just wish we still had DJ

Michael Gallup to visit with Panthers
Ricky Prickles replied to methodtoll's topic in Carolina Panthers
There were guys here calling him a bust after the first 6 games of last season. It's completely ridiculous. I agree, we need to see what he has with a coaching staff that actually gives a poo much like the rest of the team from last season who are still here. We won't know what we have in anyone till we see it under good coaching that actually wants to coach and run the team positively instead of just mailing it in without care as Reich and company seemed to do. -
Did someone take your job?
-
Seriously? This would be ridiculous if this were to go into effect. I played WR Div 1 in 99-2003 and would have LOVED some of these rules. Basically, just let me catch the ball and if you touch me you get flagged. What a goofy crock of poo if true.
-
Agreed, when YGM left we lost our star power, our heart and soul of the defense and our future hall of famer.
-
Well that's utter poo as well and I don't like that one damn bit if true. But just because OJ is black has absolutely NOTHING to do with race or insinuating a damn thing before you start your little political tirade here. My post was nothing more than a joke so try to not freak out on your political soap box. There is actually a board for that called the litter box. Check it out.

I never understood not resigning him and paying Sanders so much instead when he didn't sign for near as much with the Bears.- 23 replies
