  1. Despite how laid back Bryces personality is I have heard nothing except extremely positive review and comments from past coaches and teammates about how fantastic a leader he is. It is odd to hear that so often and forcefully when seeing Bryce so calm all the time.
  2. Even if XL said it, Davey Newton reported it so it is automatically sus.
  3. Steve Spurrier was the greatest preseason coach. Played his starters the whole game and kicked ass. I can't remember how many Superbowls he won.
  4. Tepper made two awful decisions in Rhule and Reich.
  5. NFL has a huge amount of parity. The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable. 2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
  6. Who here didn't want Rhule and Reich fired? Blame Tep for hiring them but I'm glad he realized it was not working and investing more into their path as HC's was senseless. I think he was more than patient with coaches and GM's who were doing a horrible job. In many instances he overpaid by a large amount to get the people he's deemed will be successful or players his coaches wanted. Tepper ok'd some huge contracts based on his GM or Coach's opinion. Teddy 2 gloves (3yr @ 63 million with 40 guaranteed) because OC Joe Brady worked with him in NO and wanted him. The Bucs started looking at signing him causing us to give him a bloated contract to ensure we got him. Traded after 1 year. Traded a 2nd for Darnold and gave him his 5th year extension before he ever played a down for us. Rhule begged for Baker Mayfield and Tepper refused until we got him at a bargin and even with only paying 5-6 million for him, he sucked under that staff. Ben McDodo was behind the request for Ian Thomas's extension because he fit his offense. Never underestimate the lies or how stupid a coach on a short leash will be. Paid an insane amount of money for the dream team coaching staff lead by Reich. Reich was fired halfway through the season and the rest of the offensive coaches followed at the end of that year.
  7. Same thing I first thought but then I saw it was against Jacksonville and took about half a second of playing to know. I was at that game. I can't tell you my level of excitement when I saw it was Delhomme instead of Peete who came out for the 2nd half. Delhomme has and will probably always be my favorite Panther.
  8. We got 4 if you count Jared Allen. It's all an opinion piece and some of you didn't read the parameters under which they chose these players. Come on, confess. Who here read the whole article and who just scrolled through and looked at the pictures?
  9. Chuba gives me a chubbie.
  10. I know people like him and I do too but let's not overreact. He's a six round draft pick. Rub some dirt on it.
  11. Two years seems like a good window for his shelf life. Big need. Reasonable cost. I like it
  12. Nothing can beat the Charlotte observer comments section circa late 90's
  13. Two things I live for. Panther wins and Falcon f@$k ups.
  14. I have the same feeling now as I did right before the 2nd year of the John Fox era.
  15. If you include his present year, it's 45 million per year. That is pretty close to middle of the pack starter if you're looking at yearly average. Who else are you going to pay? What are the options? These guys are not paid in a vacuum. Who is their QB if they let Purdy walk. There are teams who haven't had the chance to pay a QB as good as Purdy for the last decade. If Bryce doesn't continue to ascend then the Panthers will be one of those those teams. Ya'll act like passing on a very good QB who fits the coaches system like a glove doesn't have serious repercussions. Who was the last really elite QB for the 49er's? Steve Young, a quarter of a century ago? Fans have some of the most unrealistic expectations that are completely devoid of reality.
  16. Option A: Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B: Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position. How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid? When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam. Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
  17. If Bryce is a franchise QB, which I think he is, then we won no matter what else happens That is how important a QB is in the NFL.
  18. His legs are gone and he's a defensive liability. I question whether the bat speed's there. He would have really helped our season tickets early in the year...but in the dog days in July, August, we're lucky if he's gonna hit his weight.
  19. QB's with elite athletic traits can be great. QB's with elite athletic traits can suck. QB's without any athletic traits can be great. QB's without any athletic traits can suck. You can find whatever data you want to make the case. It's my opinion that most injuries to the QB are not due to a big guy hitting a little guy. If TJ Watt spears any QB's AC joint with his element it's going to be a problem. Also, I don't care how big or small you are the biggest potential injury for any NFL player is a concussion and bigger player don't have any added protection against that then the waterboy. All QB's, unless it's a winning drive or a game in the playoffs need to run out of bounds or drop like you got shot the minute a defensive player gets within 10 to 15 feet. The greatest QB to play in the NFL was one of the least athletic players in the history of the league. How many RB, DB's or WR are the size of Bryce or smaller? Different players have different skill sets. Some are physical and some are mental. There is no secret sauce. We've seen all shapes and sizes.
  20. I became a panther fan when I heard the team announced its existence. We basically had two great periods. The Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith years. John Fox era. Then the Cam and Rivera Era. We are in the very beginning of the Canales and Bryce... Enjoy.
  21. Did I miss something? Did y'all not watch the second half of the season? We are arriving. And Bryce is driving this train.
  22. Hunter is so underrated. He is an elite route runner and has been a 3rd down conversion machine since his Clemson days Dude just knows how to get open. Knows exactly where he is supposed to be and how to find the soft spot in zone. Welcome home, 3rd and Renfrow.
  23. Highest rated player on our board at a position of need at the time. We are a run first team. It's been a minute since the NFL was a one back league. I'm not seeing an issue.
